Play Rimworld then it's not dwarf fortress level of autism but you can mod it to get time out of it, any Paradox game except for Imperator is probably fitting as well

Dorf fort and CDDA are pretty much the only things I still like, I've 100% Binding of Isaac so fuck that till the new dlc, SMT ruined most JRPGs/RPGs,. I've played most of Yea Forums core and still think they're decent, they're just not replayable
Rimworlds fun to play now and again but I haven't seen a game actually do something new or add a big improvement in fucking years
