the series that officially will kill nintendo
The series that officially will kill nintendo
Assblasted snoy
>First entry is hailed as one of the best entry-level JRPGs ever made
>XBX is considered to have the best open-world content with tons to explore among RPGs
>XB2, albeit messy, is considered to be a pretty exception JRPG in its own right and introduced tons of new fans to the series itself
You're high, Xenoblade will the the Core RPG franchise for Nintendo while Pokemon is the more casual one
no1 gave a shit about xenoblade till smash 4
t. seething autistic biased Nintendo fanboy not gamer or fan but obsessed freak
How Ironic
And?
owned cuz you cant lie about facts.
The remaster of 1 is going to expose to the newcomers how shit 2 was. Can't wait
>Nintendo is totally gonna die guyz
>no reallys, I'm seriouses
Nintendo has existed before even your fucking grandfather and maybe even your great grandfather, and they'll continue existing way after we all die.
Assuming we don't die in the next 15 years from nuclear war
shows what you know asperger boy.
All you did was state the obvious. What is your point? Are you implying that it's a bad thing?
Mind your blood pressure, kiddo.
Is this playable on Dolphin? Meaning does it rely on janky motion controls? I want to get into this series
I didn't know what earthbound was until after I played melee. Your point?
>477003137
>gets called out
>hurr durr autism
No (You) for you
First they cried and bitch about Digimon port.
Then they moved onto Dragon Quest '11 fps' port which, after we got the demo, just ensured good sales in the west.
Then they asked about AC port and wrote countless negative reviews on Metacritic.
And now they cry about censorship in TMS based on a trailer and Xenoblade because why not.
And all of this happened in the last 60 days. What else can we expect until the end of the year?
This is a classic case of projection in its purest form.
what a based thread
Xenoblade as an IP is unironically the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now. Not only do the games come out on a smooth interval basis, but the developer knows what he's doing in terms of creating beautiful worlds. I know someone is going to mention Persona, but Persona titles take far too long to release. I doubt P6 will be out for another 4 to 5 years, honestly. You can't deny that it's anime as fuck, and has its over the top cliche moments that border on eye rolling, but it's got a big following, and will continue to grow even further. I could really see it being a relatively major Nintendo IP in a couple years.
Yikes
No motion controls.
>janky
Stop using this word.
Can you really compare Xeno to Pokemon, though? They aren't remotely similar. Comparing SMT to Pokemon is better, but SMT games have long development times, and Pokemon titles are rushed every year.
Reset thrash being niggers as usual
I don't even know who is pretending and who isn't anymore
people who play smash are nobodies
TMS?
Tokyo Mirage Sessions
Switch port was announced during the latest direct.
I see you weren't around during the Wii localization beggers day.
all me
>Yikes
You know it's true, though. Not even him, but
>World of the Bionis/Mechonis is more interesting than Alrest, at least until the tail end when the big twist is revealed
>Character cast in XC1 is generally more favored, with the exception of Sharla
Outside of that, I'd say the only thing XC2 has over the first game is it's combat, and the 2nd half of the story is truthfully better. More people started with XC1 anyway, so eh.
I'm glad every game I wanted to play on the Wii U is getting ported. Saves me some trouble. Feels good switchbros
The Switch is a literal port machine anyway. That's good for me since I've been missing out on a lot of games.
I'm not saying it's better or worse but saying that Xenoblade will end Nintendo is dumb because the series is doing relatively well for the amount of resources going into it
saved nintendo for me, only series I give a shit about from them anymore and the only reason I bought a WiiU/switch unless Prime 4 delivers
Holy shit I didn't even think of that. I'm even more hyped now.
>trying to start fanbase wars
pathetic
>Character cast in XC1 is generally more favored, with the exception of Sharla
Are they? I mostly just see people really love how hammy dunban and reyn are but I think I've seen more total discussion about the characters of XB2 in general than those of XB1.
>World of the Bionis/Mechonis is more interesting than Alrest, at least until the tail end when the big twist is revealed
I'm going to give that a hard disagree. While I think the Bionis/Mechonis are better executed, the actual development of the world of Alrest is more interesting because it exists outside the specific story of Rex and Co, it has its own economies and politics in a way that Bionis/Mechonis barely do
Ignore the Xfag
He doesn't even like the first one.
> wasn't even going to be localized
> people raised such a fucking stink that Nintendo went back on repeated claims they weren't going to localize it
> revitalized Nintendo fans' interest in JRPGs enough that fucking Square came back
this is literally not true, the only reason we got an XBC1 localization at all was because of fan demand
Yeah same here, I gave up on consoles last gen and stuck to pc but the switch enticed me. Gotta say it's been a great choice so far
>>World of the Bionis/Mechonis is more interesting than Alrest, at least until the tail end when the big twist is revealed
I liked exploring the Bionis more and the scale of the world and its ability to make you feel like you're actually traversing a giant being is leagues above all of XB2's titans aside from Torna, but Alrest was a lot more interesting to me in terms of worldbuilding. A lot of XB1's worldbuilding is kind of vague, but I really felt like I got a sense of XB2's different nations even though the politics didn't feature quite as heavily in the plot as they did in XB1.
And I liked the characters in 2 a bit more. It's really close though.
I personally think the world design of Alrest retains a surprising amount of the magic you could find in the Bionis/Mechonis. Although the fact that all the fucking titans were large creatures with giant flat areas on their backs made it a bit more boring to explore.
it's ridiculous to think of how close NoA's retarded decision-making came to completely preventing the franchise from growing like it did
if they'd had their way, it would've never left japan
The bionis and mechonis are presented in a better way but the world itself isn't that interesting
that being said, I think it's actually a benefit of XB1 that it stays laser focused on its plot to the detriment of everything else since it's an adventure RPG, so presumably the adventure would take priority. It helps the game stay on pace.
Both games are good though, people saying XB2 is bad are out of their mind. half baked, maybe, but hardly bad
NoA's grudge about translating games with lots of dialog almost killed another series, big fucking whoop
They did it already to Earthbound by deliberately mismarketing the fuck out of it. They wanted JRPGs to stay dead. I'm glad NoJ finally reigned them in.
it's a real shame we didnt get to see non-capital towns in XB2 much, it would have been nice to see the self-contained economies of each titan, not just the inter-titan one.
The best thing about bionis/mechonis ended up being just how well it maintains its sense of scale by having the other titan almost always in view
Yeah, honestly. The Leftherian isles had probably the most interesting aesthetic in all of Alrest because they felt more in proportion with one another and the world.
My only issue with Alrest, is the fact that half of the environments in the game felt like they needed to be expanded.
>Indol
>Elysium (Would be nice, but I can understand why it's barren)
>Leftheria
>Mor Ardain
>Tantal (Is huge, but needs more to the environment. Step down from Valak Mountain)
And in general the Cloud Sea mechanic being barely present when it could have expanded the Titans more, sucks.
for sure
XB2 was reaching beyond its budget/timeline's grasp. there's a lot of care put into even just the naming of things to give a sense of the culture of the world and each titan. I'm also one of the weirdoes who liked a lot of the DLC quests for this same reason
I also forgot Morytha. It's a shame that setting wasn't explored more, as well. Seeing the giant tornadoes in the background, among other things could have been explored waaaay more. That was a massive let down since the tone switch had such a profound impact on the story.
Ironically, JRPG's are exploding in popularity to a massive degree these days. What changed?
Don't fucking forget Temperantia. At least make the music more chill for what's essentially a DMZ. It shouldn't sound like a war is actively going on.
The whole game is halfbaked, but the fact that I keep thinking about how great it would be with another 6-12 months of dev time is a testament to the enjoyment of what was there.
2 is fucking shit. At least you had the first two right.
I just told you what changed. NoJ reined in NoA, slaughtered Treehouse and fired whatever vindictive fucks were still hanging around from the days when they deliberately tanked Earthbound.
>Ironically, JRPG's are exploding in popularity to a massive degree these days. What changed?
Western RPGs have declined in popularity. DAI and MEA had some abysmal and weak writing and people are appreciating the value of a clearly defined protagonist character with a distinct personality and a linear story.
When your character has a personality, they can have an arc. When your story is linear, it can have themes and well paced intrigue and foreshadowing
>revitalized Nintendo fans' interest in JRPGs enough that fucking Square came back
square came back in the gamecube/gba days, zoomer.
2's pretty good, even if it isn't as tight as 1 or X.
It ends up having pretty solid characters with good chemistry and really solid writing on the whole, despite the butchered execution of the story vis a vis the voice acting and weird story-gameplay pacing in the middle act.
>Xenoblade as an IP is unironically the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now.
yeah, it's garbage just like ffxv.
Ah yes, like five non-major titles is the exact same as promising the FFVII remake for Nintendo consoles.
In terms of quality, for sure
I hope they keep it up but also hope they give Monolith Soft some breathing room between their own major titles.
I wonder if Monolith Soft's A team is doing this remaster or one of their new studios is handling it
>promising the FFVII remake for Nintendo consoles
which they haven't done.
Oh, damn, it looks like you're right.
I could swear I remember news to that effect back in the Wii U days. You know, right around when Cloud in Smash happened?
Holy fucking SEETHE
It was rumored that it would come to the system since the NX and the Remake were having rumors float around them at the same time what with different copyrights being filed and so forth
But the most that came out of it was just the ported over originals.
9.2? Really? It's more like an 8.5 at best. Played it for a bit, but got boring pretty quick. I was able to finish the second one and the mech one though. All of the games feel a bit dated. It's sad that this may be the best the JRPG genre has had to offer in recent years.
Xenoblade games are definitely overrated around here.
>Persona as an IP is unironically the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now.
Fixed. Atlus dabbed on Monolith Soft this gen both in critical and commercial reception with P5 alone reaching mainstream recognition, game is already closing in on 3 mil w/o the royal expansion and people are still sucking it's dick.
XB2 and X were divisive as fuck with more than plenty of notable issues holding them back, the former still under 2 mil and the latter flopping thanks to the Wii U. Don't kid yourself user.
If only P5 could have a compelling plot with interesting characters like early mid-era FF games
> Xenoblade 1 is an 8.5
> I played it for a bit but it got boring
I'd wager you didn't even get to Colony 6 you dumb shitter.
Hello there RGT 85
it shits on anything that hack takahashi comes up with.
Hardly
Even the cast of XB1 is more consistently compelling than the cast of P5
At the VERY least, the plot keeps true to it's themes and the protagonist has a defined personality so they can go through an actual arc instead of being self-insert fodder
This. I actually liked XBX but XB2 made me question whether or not XB1 owed half it's popularity due to the JRPG scene being dire hot trash in that gen.
>personafags actually think any persona game is better than xenogears or xc1
lmao
P5 has the worst cast of the hashino trilogy and does an even worse job at keeping party member's relevant past their arc, which is something i see thrown at XB1 as a complaint.
XBX, XB2 and XB1 are all superior to P5 in terms of writing quality.
>Xenoblade as an IP is unironically the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now
This is absurd.
>Persona as an IP is unironically the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now.
So is this.
The reality is that Final Fantasy is still the Final Fantasy of the JRPG world right now. This isn't indicative of quality of course; anyone can tell you that even P5 and XC2 are MUCH better games than FFXV, but that isn't reflective of the importance nor popularity of these franchises. Sales-wise, FFXV has blown P5 and XC2 out of the water, with 8.4 million sales in November.
Final Fantasy is still significantly more popular and relevant, even with shit games in a genre that's popularity has overall declined since the 90's and early 00's, than Persona or Xenogames might ever be.
>Calling anyone a hack
>But praising hackshino's work
Wew Nelly
Persona has been getting worse with each new installment after 3.
Xenoblade has been getting better (albeit in a "two steps forward, one step back kind of way) with each new installment.
>XBX, XB2 and XB1 are all superior to P5 in terms of writing quality.
Kek no. Especially XBX were it barely has a fucking plot and ends on a cliffhanger or XB1 were it becomes a dumpster fire after the Zanza twist and needed XB2 to clean up the mess.
It is, but P5 has the issue much more rapidly in that sometimes WITHIN the dungeon a character is introduced, they're made irrelevant.
I'd argue the only relevant characters of the Phantom Thieves all the way through are Joker, Morgana, Futaba and Ryuji.
And Ryuji and Morgana's relevance mostly comes from their fight and break up bit, not much before or after that.
I can at least say that in XB1, while Riki, Reyn and Sharla are all pretty pointless, Melia gets a consistent and on-going plot and arc, Dunban gets plenty of on-going interaction with Mumkhar and Shulk actually has an arc at all instead of just being the audience surrogate like Joker is.
They're actually really similar in that they both start out strong but where XB1's characters at least have the H2H mechanic to flesh out the intra-party dynamics, P5 leaves most character interactions at the door outside of social links
>xenogears
>fake "depth" that consists of mentioning philsophical, psychological and religious themes every five seconds while doing nothing interesting with any of them
>stops being a game and turns into a "cinematic experience" in disc 2
>so incoherent with forced "twists" that one of the "good guys" is actually an asshole: lparchive.org
>xenoblade
>I'M LE REALLY FEELIN' IT: the shonen shit: the reddit meme: the game
yawn. wake me up when the xenocringe franchise produces anything on the level of persona 2.
XBX was a pretty solid sci-fi plot with party members with pretty interesting backstories and dispositions and temperaments
XB1 definitely does have issues after Zanza shows up but I'd argue that P5's version of that twist is worse since it detaches the characters' struggles and arcs and themes from reality altogether, where in XB1 it serves as an appropriate (albeit flat and emotionally vacant) tie-up of the themes of not letting others control your destiny and not othering those that are different from you.
>no fall damage
Instantly the better game. Fuck you XC2
>Persona 2
>the game where the only memorable thing that happens is Hitler wears aviators
lmao you could have at least mentioned a good game like Nocturne.
Should have just been one game desu, the sequels ruined the franchise
>hasn't played XC1 so he banks on a single meme that people who also never played it know about
You tried.
I agree.
wait there is a game before xenoblade?
>wait there is a game before xenoblade?
XC1fags, everybody.
But the first game has fall damage too. X is the only one that doesn't.
Sadly....this.
I actually had high expectations for Monolith Soft after XB1, now i just can't drum up any excitement for the franchise anymore after feeling let down twice.
At least the definitive edition is coming out to remind what made me fall in love with it.
did you play the fucking game?
shut up retard I learned about shulk in smash how could I know about a stupid playstation game? Prob sucks anyways since its Snoy based Nintendo made the series for the better
Facts. Atlus as of late isn't even on the same fucking level of Squaresoft's output on the PSX alone, nowadays outside of P5/Catherine shilling SMT is a joke to them. Being better than nu-SE is like being praised for tying your own shoes at the age of 12.
I like how all Xenoblade shitposting threads end up with general discussions of the gameplay, stories, environments and overall series appreciation, while the original shitposters keep trying to interject with stale bait, or falseflaging arguements about parts of the series being "complete shit".
Best part is you can tell who these idiots are because if you press them, they show they dont know shit about the game.
Speaking of, post your favorite tracks from the games:
youtu.be
Nah, see PS1 was SONY era. When games WERE games and not political statements
>Sales =/= Quality
Yeah, no. We could rip apart Persona 5 all day long. It's equally as divisive in its fandom, and the story has plenty of issues that Royal is already confirmed not to fix since they aren't altering the base game much.
Why do fire/lava levels always get the best tracks?
youtube.com

>>Character cast in XC1 is generally more favored, with the exception of Sharla
Hard disagree.
The only characters that mattered were Shulk, Fiora, Melia, and maybe Dunban because his story ended when he joined the team.
Reyn, Sharla, and Riki aren't anything comparable to Zeke, Morag, and Tora fuck outta here.
You need to go back
>3 mil
if you want to use sales as evidence, Final Fantasy is the Final Fantasy of this generation.
>The only characters that mattered
>Morag and Tora
Way to contradict yourself in a single fucking post.
Cringe
People generally say that XC1’s cast is better because Rex, Pyra, and Mythra are fucking awful (especially Pyra) and those three along with Nia really drive a lot of the plot within the party.
How do I know youre a newfag?
Oh yeah, you wasn't here on Yea Forums for the Localization begging threads and the 2nd threads when it came to EU like a year before US.
Too many tracks to count. I love almost all of em.
Yeah because they didn't have their own story arcs that mattered in the entire plot right? Oh wait they did
Why don't you just interject with stale bait like the user up top said, that's what you're good at
People say their voice acting is weak but they’re pretty popular on the whole.
Rex less so than Pyra and Mythra for obvious reasons
>Xenoblade 1 is a solid 8.875
>No, it's actually more of an 8.815
>People generally say that XC1’s cast is better
I think it's part nostalgia part Brit voices part better voice acting.
XC2's cast are more involved with the story.
But because Shulk's acting was great, it carried the whole game.
>because Rex, Pyra, and Mythra are fucking awful (especially Pyra)
What? No. That's just opinion, they're great characters.
Because saying the series should have ended with XB1, ignoring that it’s a dip in writing quality compared to Xenogears suggests you’ve barely invested any time into the franchise, which makes it extra weird you’re making a claim about what the franchise ought to have done
>but they’re pretty popular on the whole.
IMO their popularity goes like this out of the whole Blade franchise top 5
>Shulk after Smash boost
>Pyra
>Mythra
>Rex
>Shulk before Smash boost
Pretty much all the location music in X. The one that always sticks with me though is that first time you enter Oblivia.
The main XB2 trio are fine, but good god did they need more takes for the voice acting
I think bringing back the campfire mechanic would have helped a lot too, it’s clear they wanted a lot of the slow burn of their relationship to happen while you’re hanging out at camp
XB1DE May be better for the franchise (as part of a move to have the whole thing on a single platform) but XB2 needs and deserves a definitive edition remake more
fuck you retard. Its clear Nintendo's vision for Xenoblade is much better than shitty xenogears/saga
That’s the most accurate list I’ve ever seen
Yeah, Shulk is still on top for sure. I’d actually swap out Pre Smash Shulk with Dunban or Melia if it’s measuring how well liked they are
You’re baiting me by acting like a consolewarbabby
And it’s working, I’m pissed
Your tears are the true Rainfall.
Yeah I think XB2 development was rushed as hell too
Maybe next console gen we'll get it.
>The main trio in XC2 were good
They really weren't. Rex and Pyra are the equivalent of Fei becoming Elly's lover right there on the spot, the moment they met each other in the forest. There was no real build up, or proper development between their relationship outside of a few select situations. Nia's arc was tight, but her backstory could have been more clear.
I actually don't know who's more popular, Melia or Dunban. They're both great.
Lmao honestly who cares about gears or saga Nintendo defined Xenoblade and it became a success. Stupid snoy was just garbage at producing good games
Because the only 2 that mattered were Fei and Elly in Xenogears. Rex and Pyra needed to share the spotlight with everyone else.
Besides are you saying Love at first Sight isn't a thing? Unironically get sex if you think otherwise.
>Implying they'd alter the story
Well.. probably. Since Torna was originally going to be a simple Chapter in the story, instead of its own game. I feel like they could really pull that off in a XC2 Remaster, especially since the next console will easily be more powerful. Among other things like hopefully expanding some of the environments, making Roc relevant to Rex's development somehow, and other shit.
>Are you saying love at sight isn't a thing?
My issue is the fact that they're slapped together, in essence. She becomes his life force, and they share the same wounds, but their dynamic development just doesn't pay off properly. That could also be attributed to the fact that he's only 15, but even then it's underwhelming. At least Fei and Elly properly developed together as a couple.
Nigga even Shulk and Fiora have a better love story than Rex and Pyra.
Well we’re talking more about them putting in and fleshing our everything they wanted.
The campfire/inn system is a big one which was intended to be like Torna’s where you’d get random conversations and cute scenes of characters interacting.
It’d also, like you mention, have Torna integrated as a chapter but I imagine they might also back-roll some elements of the Torna battle system: more unique Rear Guard arts for Blades and the QoL elements for gathering and shit
Probably also include all the DLC for free
and maybe, just maybe, HE will be playable
To be fair Fei and Elly were older. Rex barely knew what romance was before Pyra and even Pyra's just 1-2 years old in real XB2 universe time.
So the puppy love makes sense.
Xenoblade is actually one of the few reasons to own a Nintendo console, for people who like games they're keeping Nintendo on life support.
t. idort.
Everyone who actually paid attention to video games at the time cared about Xenoblade from the first Japanese trailer came out, before it was even going to be localized.
You outed yourselves as underage, ignorant retards.
It was casuals who didn't know or care about the franchise, aka shitters like you.
It's the same shit.
Early game, Rex and Pyra have more scenes together than Shulk and Fiora who only had the sandwich scene.
Shulk and Fiora's love story just >seems< better because of the CPR kiss and the other castmates sans Melia pale in comparison.
They have some development and a lot is done in the H2Hs but I actually agree with you, they could have used more time to let their relationship develop
That being said, I like what was there and doujins have filled in a lot of what I wish was in-game (mostly just their conversations, less so the fucking)
rex fucked mythra in the end though
Sort of? Shulk and Fiora are in a relationship already whereas Rex and Pyra/Mythra only get into it properly by chapter 8
A veritable salad of angry buzzwords. Calm down.
>t. kiddo who doesn't even know the proper formatting of the terveisin meme
jej
>Shulk and Fiora are in a relationship already
No, more like a mutual understanding.
Shulk and Melia were growing closer before Fiora came back.
t. hasn't played persona 2 OR nocturne
I disagree
While they could have used more alone time and conversations (either in H2Hs or the main story cutscenes), I still found them to be fairly compelling
Rex is charming as a dumb shonen lad who gets his shit wrecked and has to become more mature and develop a more nuanced world view. His relationship with Pyra, while a bit rushed, worked well enough for me as a kid who’s attracted to someone mysterious and doesn’t really understand (which becomes a major forcing function for his development)
Pyra is honestly pretty nice too as a deuteragonist in her own concerns as well as goals. She doesn’t really come across as someone who’s really damaged but you can see a lot of how her and Mythra’s past has shaped her own fears and cautiousness
My biggest issue is actually with Mythra. All of the screen time put in after chapter 4 to try to build romantic rapport with her and Rex should have been dedicated to Pyra and Rex. Mythra, instead, should have been Pyra’s alter ego and Rex’s mentor of sorts. I find that the split relationship-development between the two and Rex is actually my biggest issue with how they chose to spend screentime
Sure, that’s fair. They’re in that “well we’re childhood friends in an isolated colony, of course we’re gonna get married some day”
>tfw you think all three Xenoblade protagonists are good and have interesting personalities and arcs
BASED
Reminder that ALL Xenoblade titles are infantile generic shonen made for children and young teens (ie the nintendo audience)
Call me when Takahashi gets to remaking Xenogears, the genre-redefining, trope-subverting, atmospheric, dark and eerie, emotionally draining, gut wrenching, aesthetically heavy craft by post-horror auteur with an arthouse edge, dread-inducing, suspenseful build up with strong character development and gradual feeling of escalation, bone-chilling slow burn with “say more with less” approach and soul-shaking, blood-curdling, skin-crawling and nerve-wracking exercise in persistently looming dread where tension and anxiety permeates every frame as the game reaches its nail-biting, jaw-clenching and paranoia-inducing final climax JRPG vidyakino.
Christ, that's a lot of Heartless running around.
BASED cultured taste
the butthurt makes me enjoy these masterpieces even more
please keep being this assblasted about a toy, I love seeing you pathetic tools lose your shit about it
stfu u stupid snoy xenogears sucks
just like nintendo causes your autism to overflow fucking apsie fag
Did I suddenly wake up in a timeline where Xenogears wasn't a borderline anime, filled with cliches and cringe moments from time to time? I assure you, that if Xenogears were being made today instead of Blade, it'd be the same shit.
the xenoblade x protag doesn't have either of those things
It was localized. All you had to do was import it from Yurop.
It’s a shitpost, and a pasta too I think
I think he means Elma
>tfw you think all three Xenoblade protagonists are merely okay and have lackluster personalities and arcs but still like them all anyways
I hope so, the xcx player character is literally not even a character
>TFW you can't come up with anything original so you piggyback off a based post.
What if they’d give us the option to choose who Shulk ends up with?
Just like the whole call Pneuma Pyra/Mythra type of deal?
>My biggest issue is actually with Mythra. All of the screen time put in after chapter 4 to try to build romantic rapport with her and Rex should have been dedicated to Pyra and Rex. Mythra, instead, should have been Pyra’s alter ego and Rex’s mentor of sorts. I find that the split relationship-development between the two and Rex is actually my biggest issue with how they chose to spend screentime
I'd prefer for the game to actually fully commit and drive home the "they're one person" point it already spent a good portion of the game pushing, and fuse the two into the third form permanently either in chapter 7 or the ending instead of chickening out and splitting them to make waifufags happy.
For what reason? Just pure hate for "waifufags"?
I’ll choose Fiora just to see Melia realize that Shulk isn’t ignorant to her feelings and is actively rejecting her
Operation Rainfall says otherwise, fag
>entry-level JRPGs ever made
When you're coming up with bullshit specific categories that no one ever uses to refer to games, you have to realize no one's going to take what you say seriously. Right?
No but it’s easier to develop a single relationship with any amount of screentime than it is to develop two separate relationships with the same amount of screentime split between them
The alternate possibility here is to develop them as a trio instead of as two distinct pairs
If XCX ever does get remade, I really hope they kill the online shit. That's the only reason why Cross was created anyway, instead of Elma downright being the protagonist. Although she honestly works better as a Fiora, or Pyra like figure, so eh.
I hope not. "Choose your waifu" situations always reeks of half-assed writing.
This user gets it.
>For what reason? Just pure hate for "waifufags"?
No. Because I think they're better as one character and that the game spends a bunch of time trying to treat them that way, only to abruptly drop it at the last minute.
it would fucking suck, it sucked in 2 but i didn't care because i didn't care about any of the three characters involved
It's pure adventure kino with tons of SOUL.
Not really
Being a good entry point into a niche genre is hard because you need to balance to criteria of quality of that genre with mass appeal and story-telling that is universally good
XB1 is almost as well paced as FF7 and it starts off with a real bang, not to mention the premise of the world is easy to grasp and the voice acting does a lot for the average normie who treats most media with a level of detached cynicism
>more scenes of Pyra, Rex and Mythra all interacting together with Pyra and Mythra switching back and forth
Would be cute, I really liked the scene in Rex’s nightmare with the three of them
Speaking of which... Operation Rainfall was three games, and of those, only Xenoblade got any notoriety.
Shulk being added to smash really was the best thing Nintendo could have done.
lmao imagine if in xenogears fei and id actually became 2 different people for no fucking reason instead of becoming an unified whole, that's how retarded the pyra/mythra thing is, takahashi basically decided to recycle the split personality business in the shittiest way possible
Do people not realize Pyra and Mythra are just split personalities of the same person? Why does everyone treat them like different characters? The ending doesn't count it's retarded
Well it’s a little different than the other games, wasn’t it?
I mean Nintendo owned Monolith Soft at the time but I don’t know if they owned the other two Rainfall game studios
>Blades can't decide what they want to be
You're the kind of people Rex wanted to fight against
It’s kind of ambiguous, because there are times when one takes control when both should be unconscious
I suppose my question is what differentiates a split personality from a different person?
Xenoblade had the advantage of unofficially being part of a series
Part of Smash's role in vidya has been to showcase lesser known characters/properties. It's been that way since the first Smash when many children were introduced to the Ice Climbers for the first time.
Well but the question is what was the game saying
My interpretation is that Mythra did make Pyra and they’re split personalities but, for the sake of discussing Jesus CPUs, that basically makes them different people. Pyra is basically the ultimate waifu that Mythra wishes she was because then people would like her and not be afraid of her
The IP is all owned by Nintendo, although I get what you mean. The guys who made The Last Story also made other games you seen on Smash, like ASH Archaic Sealed Heat, but not everything they made was Nintendo, such as Blue Dragon.
Monolith may have been the only stuio straigh up Nintendo's.
Speaking of which, I wonder what percentage of the Xeno community even recongnizes the significance of this, and what percentage of those people who don't would take you seriously, unquestionably, if you said it is meant to be, almost literally, Jesus Christ's cross.
Cute Fiora
I like how western religion is just another "funny religion with funny characters to build settings with" to the japanese.
Nobody in europe, a few in america (basically the people that kickstarted operation rainfall in the first place, who had a good portion of xenosaga fans among them) and a decent chunk in japan would be my guess
For real, the resolution undocked is a complete disaster and the gacha crystal mechanic needs a massive overhaul.
Field skills should be removed entirely.
Well you see similar treatment of Japanese and Chinese mythology, particularly Buddhism and that shit
It’s exotic fetishism.
Only retards think that Takahashi would actually allow this shit. Read Jung. Shulk and Fiora belong together. It's like the Niafags all over again. This shit is not Persona, you are not the anime self insert. People who want Shulk/Melia or Rex/Nia are on the same level as people who chose Triss in TW3.
Should have just been one disk desu, the second disk ruined the franchise
>Prob sucks anyways since its Snoy based Nintendo made the series for the better
Despite this being a shitpost it's unironically correct. Nintendo taught Takahashi how to actually make games starting with a proof of concept 'slice' and then implementing story instead of "I need a vehicle for my failed Sci Fi pilot".
Fuck you Tora is based
Runs almost perfect and you can uso a classic controller even on the Wii
no its not u fucking faggot
babby
I mean Mythra's arc in Xenoblade 2 was basically learning to come to terms with herself and accept herself for what she is, in doing so she increasingly did not need Pyra as a gentle mask to hide behind (notice how you see less Pyra in cutscenes as the game goes on until chapter 8 where she basically disappears aside from meeting dad, which is a reasonable time and place for Mythra to still wish to hide), but unlike her old self who may have resented Pyra for being everything that she is not (which is how she purposefully made her), for being so easily likeable, for being so gentle, motherly, feminine, ect she also came to terms with Pyra, and in kind, all of the qualities that Pyra had and Mythra lacked, existing, which is part of being able to come to terms with herself.
If Pyra was some crypto-antagonistic force to be vanquished by Mythra's bolder and stronger inner personality and that was the message, that the stronger and more primal femininity of Mythra (defined by her design, her long golden hair, her exposed cleavage, ect compared to Pyra's conservative haircut, constrained breasts, and nearly exposed anus/vagina) was simply supposed to overcome Pyra's gentle, domestic femininity I think the message would be a great deal weaker. Mythra's development is defined in being able to overcome resentment and envy through finding love, first of Rex, then of herself and the world around her.
I benched this freak as soon as I got Morag and never bothered using him again
>benching the strongest character in the game
Xenoblade was the easiest game to emulate on PC and it had considerably more fan hype.
Tora is dogshit if you're not willing to grind tiger tiger.
In NG+ you can get easy ether crystals without even touching Tiger Tiger.
when am i getting the remaster on pc?
yes, but that is not the main playthrough where you are perfectly justified in benching Tora.
Speaking of Pokemon and SMT, is there anything worse than 1v1 turn based combat? How has Pokemon not improved on this shit? The press turn system is unironically the greatest turn based system.
Ive played Xenoblade 1, X, 2 and Torna, I was holding off from playing Xenogears because seeing Kos-mos in 2 made me hope Bandai would be up for a remaster or a remake of the trilogy
since Square isnt doing anything with Xenogears other than putting it in the FFBE gacha, is it worth a shot? whats the average timelenght for a playthrough?
Takahashi allowed the ending of XB2. You're retarded.
It took me 70 hours
80 hours if you want to try and do everything on the 1st playthru
60-70 otherwise
i'd say it's worth it from what i remember. it's been almost 20 years since i played it but i remember getting really angry at this part of game dying in the sewers from random encounters and shelving it for months before I finished it
It wouldn't surprise me at this point if Sqaure Enix does a cheap Xenogears rerelease, but you might as well just play the original. Like the others said it will probably take about 70 hours
Square Enix didn't do shit with it up until a few years ago then suddenly they did all this shit as we approached the 20th anniversary like
>Including Xenogears shit in Figureheads, World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius
>20th Anniversary Concert
>New Figures of Fei, Elly and Weltall
>Square Enix ports
>ever
I hope they bring Xenoblade X to switch somehow
Hes trolling, fag.
nah he literally didn't know hes too busy sucking nintendo cock like you
ffx's system is the best but press turn is second
I don't know what TMS's system is but it's better to me than Persona's.
never played tms, i need to, it might be second
though i'll add that press turn is way better than one more, for subtle reasons
You still need to farm tiger Tiger if you want the light or dark chips for poppi qt3.14
It truly is. One more just doesn't feel as good as getting a crit, then a smirk and destroy demons with like 8 turns back to back.
