Youre unironically a masterpiece user
Yes. So are 6-8
What about 11?
Why is the word ironically/unironically used so often on Yea Forums?
I literally have no idea
>6

looks like a cute & funny masterpiece.
Not the person you're responding to, but I liked 11 more than 8, personally.
More characters to appeal to a wider audience and deeper gameplay with a better progression system.
But I think V is the only genuine masterpiece.
It's a consequence of post ironic humor culture. Gotta be very explicit whether something is ironical or not.
Haven't finished 11. Got halfway through on PS4 and then the switch version was announced so I stopped playing. So far I would rank it up there with 7-8 but not as good as 5-7
Kill your life
make me.
Cutest Couple
11 is great except for the music. In everything else it is masterpiece
V is the best jrpg ever made
but VII got the best girl
i'm playing 11 and it feels like there's only 3 or 4 songs
What are the odds that DQ 1-3 collection they are making on Switch gets a NA release
There's actually quite a few songs in the game they just reuse a lot of songs. The overworld theme changes half way through.
Ugliest foot I've seen in a long time, almost puked.
Do you really want that awful looking version of 3, none of the monsters are animated when they all were in the snes version.
>animated monsters
I mean, that's cool, but the encounter rate on that game is ridiculous, you want to add unnecessary hours of gameplay just to watch the enemies do the same aninations over and over?
Yes, a 100% yes.
>masterpiece
Way to overuse the word into irrelevance you stupid faggot.
It's a great game but hardly a masterpiece with that shit ass standard as fuck gameplay.
I actually think the Japs might prefer it that way. I-III are a cultural legacy there so they probably like it as close to the OG NES releases as possible.
You're dreaming user.
From someone who is playing through all of the Dragon Quest games straight through (on 4 now), the monster animations blew my fucking brain when I got to 3. Granted, I played 1-3 on the GBC, but 3 was a cut above the other 2. Even on the GBC that shit was C R I S P Y.
Seems like you're the one who doesn't know what masterpiece means, retard.
weaker minds use those words more often because they hear them more often in this case
I know.
Why did I have to wake up?
>dq1
>worth playing
lol
Just make a Japanese Eshop account and buy them there. They have English text options.
I is the best game until V.
>Kino tier
5, 8, 11
>Must Play tier
3, 4
>Great tier
1, 7, 9
>Ok tier
6
>Fuck No tier
2
always call out reddit prose
Really good list except I'd put 9 in kino personally. Also if 2 is really shit is it alright that I skipped 2 after 1 and went to 3? Shit seemed boring as fuck.
2/3's of the way through*
the earlygame is extremely painful, with the rest of the game just a glorified and unbalanced easter egg hunt with obscure hints and bullshit design choices. It added a lot of features from 1 that is seen in all the other Dragon Quest games, so 2 was necessary, but as a standalone game it's easily the worst in the series
Honestly you could just watch a let's play or read a summary if you honestly cared about the story. I wish I did that rather than waste like 50 hours of my life with bullshit.
I just beat DQ2 a few weeks ago and I can tell you it was not worth the time.
The mobile version made things a little easier but it was largely a tedious grind to avoid getting your shit stomped in by a bad encounter.
Also, holy fuck don't play it without a guide, the devs were either retarded or despised the player:
>8 floor lighthouse dungeon
>3rd floor has a big red door with some damage floor tiles leading to a staircase that screams "THIS WAY"
>At this point in the game you probably have the key to unlock the door and the Safe Passage spell
>4 floors of damage tile rooms later you reach the top floor
>lol jk it was a dead end, you had to take one of the random staircases leading to the 5th floor dum dum
Fuck Dragon Quest 2
Scratch that, I think they were normal blue tiles, but it was still eye catching enough to dick you around
It's alright but personally I thought that it dragged a bit in parts
I think 8 and 11 are both better
I actually think 8 had more problems with dragging near the end. 5 only has a little lack of direction right after the third generation begins.
>telling user to watch a game on YouTube or read the Wiki summary rather than actually playing the video game
