>The cases can end differently but don't affect the story
Man this game was such a waster potential
No, he should have been the MC.
game was ahead of it's time, a shame really imagine what could've been if they released this game today ... but then again thinking about today's industry i wouldn't want to know how bad it would be
he should have never been a playable character, his section sucked shit
>game was ahead of it's time
this game would have never been released today, it would been crucified by all the touchy feely snowflakes. bondi's next game was barely even in the concept phase before it was witch hunted.
Both wrong, this is definitive best MC material
>1st murderer is a jewish businessman
>"Looks like it's the gas chambers for you"
Jesus christ
Jesus that was the best part of the game. Just watching all of them shit all over the memory of Cole. Fucking perfect.
It was necessary to see Cole through the eyes of the MC so we wouldn't be so aware of his strange attitudes and behavior. Through Kelso, and the player, Cole gets a bit of redemption for his heinous acts.
Can we all agree that Herschel was best partner?
my big problem with LA Noire is that it has some over arching plot threads, but most cases are one offs where these plot threads are ignored. really, the plot could have began at the vice desk.
I remember playing the Vanilla game years ago and things that never hapened being referenced etc, it was confusing.
Fast forward to the re-relase on PS4, and it turns out, they literally snipped bits of the game out for DLC without altering the script.
I'm tempted to boot up Windows again just to replay this. Every other game I want to play runs on Linux, but not this.
Thanks Rockstar, you fucks.
ust finished the Lipstick murder case, pretty decent game, I still have a decent chunk of it to play right? Should I bother with the various optional crime events that can occur when you freeroam? They seem like padding to me.
probably, caldwell seemed like he would have been a cool partner but that part of the game was cut.
you can clearly see that halfway through the game there was someone forcing the team from the slow methodical gameplay into action oriented just look at the clusterfuck of the ending
to be fare he says that to everyone
My biggest grip with the game was the truth/doubt prompt, which were replaced by Good cop/bad cop in the new version. Sometimes you aren't even sure what Phelps will say, though it's sometime hilarious to see him go ape shit on the person he questions, just seeing the full question would be better
they're fun for a quick shootout when you wanna take a break from the big cases
Piece of shit.
ALAS, POOR YORICK. I KNEW HIM, HORATIO!
yeah but the game doesn't really shine thanks to it's shooting mechanics. Only good parts are the investigation and interrogation sequences. Chasing, driving and shoot really feel bland. I would really like another Noir themed game, closest thing I can get is running ttrpg session with a Noir setting and multiple cases, it's pretty fun
Nah, Bekowsky was better.
Oh, they replaced the truth/doubt thing? That's interesting. Given the kind of stuff Phelps says if you Doubt people, calling it Bad Cop sounds like it would make a lot more sense.
>He was a good friend
The Nicholson Electroplating Disaster is best case.
That sheer sense of panic at the start when everyone thinks the Japs have nuked America.
>rough edgy noble cynical private detective
>doesnt care about the law
>autistic around women
that was the fucking point you retard
he's more in common with traditional noir heroes than Phelps
LA Noire was supposed to be a trilogy
and the door is still open
I loved the individual, self-contained cases. They tended to fit the noir atmosphere well, and I didn't give a flying fuck about some real estate mogul's plans to build cheap houses on top of smack-addicted war veterans or whatever the fuck it was.
One of the biggest weaknesses of the game is the homicide, when they couldn't resist trying to tie them all together into a goofy, discount-Seven serial killer mystery and effectively ruining what could have been six great cases.
"Your full of shit Jacob, truth is you hated that bitch. You followed her and dragged her into the car and took her down to the Moors. She woke up and you smashed her face in with a socket wrench"
"No, no, no, no.....NO"
"And then you stomped her. You stomped her because she was a drunken whore and treated you like shit. You stomped her for all the years you had to take it. You stomped her because your such a weak fucking sister Jacob, go ahead try to deny it"
"Looks like I made a mistake."
"You stomped her, you stomped her for
They couldn't tie up the entire story too. Cole sleeping with the german, all the WW2 stuff that you don't give a fuck about... They could've done better.
dont you play as him for a pretty good portion of the game?
Do you have the copypasta and image where Phelps is holding a pencil and notebook and yelling?
>Whore of the Orient never ever
>Spiritual successor with a similar budget never ever
L.A. Noire might not have been a perfect game but it had potential. Potential to be expanded upon and reiterated into a great game and now we'll never see that potential realized. What a shame, you deserved better than this Cole.
It would be nice to have a more sandbox-y game where you're a detective solving crimes and trying to make a career.
It literally was ahead of it's time though and now every single game uses their facial tech.

>and the door is still open
Same way the door is still open for a Bully sequel. Not gonna happen in this lifetime
YOU FUCK YOUNG BOYS, VALDEZ?
I wish I was a war veteran with PTSD.

THERE'S SUCH A THING AS SOAP YOU KNOW
Name ONE (1) game other than LA Noire that uses a video caputed and converted into a 3D mesh + texture. I'll wait.
>Implying the alphabet brigade would ever let a game called WHORE OF THE ORIENT be released in current year
You really don't.
>mfw it happened
