SNK is a very worldwide company. It lost the war of attrition with Capcom in Japan and had no chance against Capcom USA & Mortal Kombat in the States (and I guess Canada too), but Mexico, South America, Europe, and non-Japan Asia love them. Part of why they're rebounding is because a Chinese company acquired them about 4 or 5 years ago.
