Why would you buy it when you can just get it for free? I don't get it.

As long as you didn't pay more than $10 it should be worth it
The shooting is better than previous fallouts, the companion system is pretty good, and so is the settlement building
You'll get about 20 hours before you realise it's shit

Settlement defense mods are fun. Too bad nothing fixes the shittybsettler ai so they can participate.

I bought this for cheap, even with mods I only played it for 15 hours.

One way to massively improve the game without mods is to completely ignore minutemen quests. Once you rescue the people from the place don't accept anymore shit from them.
