I like SFV, but I just want it to get replaced. Its never going to recover from the reputation it got from that horrible launch, and honestly Capcom either needs to decide if they're going to go full Free To Play with the pricing, or just go back to the usual paid thing, cause the way it is now just feels awful. Everything costs too much IRL money and they made the in-game money obnoxious to earn.
We just need a new Street Fighter at this point, one that can start fresh and hopefully not have a meme reputation. If they announced a new Street Fighter in the next few months, what would you hope to see changed or added? What is it that you didn't like about Street Fighter V?
I also agree with this. I just want it replaced at this point.
Zachary Sanchez
Consoles are coming next year so SF6 will be coming early 2021 the earliest. I also like SFV but hate the fucking netcode.
Austin Carter
If we are doomposting about Capcom fighters, it is also necessary to mention what am absolute failure MVCI is (terrible gameplay, graphics, roster, PR, everything). SFV is not a terrible game, it is a mediocre game. MVCI's failure has been more impactful to my feelings about fighting-games than SFV's.
To answer the OP question, what is bad about SFV? >terrible artstyle >stubby normals >linear gameplay
Jaxon Hill
>Marvel >Terrible who would've thought
Austin Sullivan
Netcode; Dumbed down gameplay; Art direction
These are my biggest gripes.
James Flores
I like the colorful and splashy artstyle but the models and faces at certain points are really bad. Also Kolin best girl.
Put actual effort in the gameplay and stop appealing only to jizzbrains would be a good start.
Tyler Walker
Oh, I forgot to mention in the OP SF6 should just use GGPO, whatever netcode they used in SFV was awful. Also fuck the crossplay, consoles being "standard" is retarded since they can barely run the fucking games anymore and the online isn't free like it is on PC, so it sucks losing the steam integration shit just for PS4 crossplay
Tekken 7 is such a shitty Tekken entry desu, it says a lot of the competition though.
Cooper Moore
I too want it replaced. Been playing it a bit recently and it just feels terrible to play. You get rewarded for doing the dumbest shit and punished for trying to play smart. I'm only playing it because I like Sakura and I can't help myself. Also the netcode is fucking horrendous. Worst online experience I have ever had and I have stellar internet. Pros of the game are mostly not gameplay related. A lot of the OST is really good and all of the newer stages look amazing. Even the character models and faces have mostly gotten better. Honda in particular looks great in SFV.
Josiah Gutierrez
>>stubby normals >>linear gameplay Care to explain what you mean? Cause I still play USF4 once in a while with buddies and the buttons in that game feel way stubbier, they're also just on fucking turbo mode and completely bonkers compared to V. I don't get how people complain about buttons being unpunishable in V when in 4 they're tiny and lightning fast
Jacob Roberts
I think they mean Ryu mostly because 50% of the people who play SF main him.
Logan Russell
Ryu honestly hits like a truck, you just have to be a patient player with good reactions to get the most out of him. A patient, defensive Ryu play that checks dashes and antiairs every time is honestly terrifying, much scarier than a good Akuma or Ken player at least.
Caleb Edwards
He doesn't have pressure so all of that means shit in sfv. Fireballs don't work when every character has a tool to punish them and put you in the corner. Just pick Akuma, bro.
Nicholas Rodriguez
Sakura's c.mk is a perfect example of SFV's stubby normals. In SFIV it was not of the best pokes in the game and reached super far in front of her, in SFV like all of her moves it barely reaches a step or two in front of her.
Ryder Clark
I still wonder how did Tekken get so popular as an "spectator" game. Constant KBD makes characters look like they're having a permanent seizure and the rest of the time it's a blockstring fest that thanks to frame data can get very esoteric.
It's the realism, UFC-bait presentation I guess?
Jackson Jenkins
I exclusively play Zangief so my opinion on how good a shoto is might be biased, but I think Ryu is better than people give him credit for. You just have to play defensively rather than oppressively
Zachary Garcia
Are (tick) throws too good in V?
Robert Brown
They're about as good as they normally are in fighting games, but I think dash in throws are too strong online with the shitty netcode
Nathan Ortiz
The thing is there is really no reason to stick with him gameplaywise, there are better shotos that offer more tools, have actual comeback v-triggers and are more fun. Liking Ryu as a character is ok I guess but playing him will only make the game duller and more unfair to you.
Joshua Johnson
I agree although I have old man reactions.
Evan Ward
Yes They are way stronger in jive than most fighting games though
Ethan Long
Trash V-Trigger so people can have full movesets and fix the goddamn netcode.
I only want sf6 if my boy G is coming with it too. He's too fucking based, they basically took an already cool character and made it even better by a hundred fold
can we at least agree that the OST is really good?
Ayden Green
There's way too much shit wrong with SF5 imo. Honestly just make something similar to SF4 without ultras, without too many 1 frame link based combos and without the retardness that is elena and rolento.
Benjamin Johnson
just compare vega and zangief normals in each game, zangief used to ahve some really good normals and vega was basically pokes: the character.
Mason Taylor
Anyone dismissing SFV's soundtrack as shit doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.
