And you know what that means
>yfw you didn't back scam citizen
Feels great, 2 of my dumbass mates bought into it thinking it would be the next best thing and tried to convince me
Never bought in. Looked that a retarted scam then and even more so now.
Is it even playable? I see people fagging about their hyper costly ships. But can one log in a play and actual game?
Around 200€ I think, maybe less, it was for a Cutlass blue I bought that shit in 2013 or 2014
I shit you not, that ship is still unplayable today.
Im ashamed
Last thing I remember about it was some weird FPS module. They are making "modules" which are parts of what Star Citizen is supposed to be in its entirety. I think ship battles in space would be a different module but as mentioned I'm not following it actively because who knows how long it will take until it gets anywhere close to completion.
>only idiots will back this
ahem, ONLY IDIOTS WOULD BACK THIS
What will be finished first? Yandere Simulator or Star Citizen?
Neither
You could add Bannerlord to this though because god knows how long that's going to take, even if it is coming to Early Access next year.
Myself just 60€ fpr the basci package + Squadron 41, my wife and friends then gave me a gift card of 100€ extra which I spent in my beloved Cutltas.
No regrets.
Yes, you can mine, sell shit, do PvP, race, go to the lawless areas and enjoy some FPS action with mates, you can steal ships, and try to figure how to make dosh, etc, it has more content than may finished full fledgeg games in the market.
>it's a scam because they got a coffee maker for the development team and they got sliding doors for their development studio
cool scam
chris roberts made such a good scam that he is paying hundreds of people millions of dollars to develop a game
stupid suckers he he
It's not a scam if he's still giving updates and actually developing the game.
feels good to be poor breh
I bought a Wing Commander game once. I think.
It will never release in any kind of state that would qualify as "what was promised" its a $300mil No Man's Sky that retards KEEP throwing money at
It's a scam because they've taken $212m in funding, charged $20k or more for ships and are yet to deliver a full game
...yes it is
>snake oil isn't a scam as long as you keep drinking it
user...
>Charging up to 1000 bucks for pictures of space ships
Chris Roberts has an amazing racket going on
Its not a scam scam but it is yet another tale of the internet allowing idiots to follow their nature perfectly. Chris Roberts has never been able to contain himself creatively or financially and the whole thing will just expand infinitely until it burns itself out.
How many times has the release date been pushed back?
At this point its just a rolling release date.
As a manager I can tell you that this is precisely why we exist. On the one side of the spectrum we are the grown ups for paid-hourly adults who haven’t grown up. On the other we are the straightman hand of reason for the creative and talented but overly optimistic and feasibility-challenged.
Just like with George Lucas and the first trilogy, or Chris and the wing commander games, having somebody to tell you “no”, “that isn’t in the budget right now” or “this doesn’t fit the scope of the current rollout, stay focused” isn’t always a bad thing...
Lots of creative types get the idea they’ll earn enough money to go independent and “then with nobody to tell them no they’ll be able to do anything and it’ll be the best thing ever”.
So yeah, I’ve seen it many times before. I don’t think it’s malicious scamming as much as the typical “the ‘idea guy’ gets too much money and no longer has a boss” syndrome.
I gave him €70.
But I refunded.
I didn't even know about it until like last week so $0
i thought this pic was a ss13 remake at first glance
>friend and I looked at it 3 years ago
>his system would handle it
>he spent $200 or so
>played it 45 minutes and never again
Some of the YouTube videos look cool but it’s just so god damn far away from being finished that I can’t gamble the money on it. Shit what if I did before it comes out?
Have you hugged your producer today?
I'm only interested in this

i buy games, i don't fund them.
You didn't play Freelancer?
ITT: people who don't know anything about AAA video game development.
please explain...
>t. cultist
I like how you pretend you can do any of that in the absolute state of that game, without worrying about clipping through the floor. It takes some advanced denial.
I didn't but I have a good friend that spent well over $100.
When I asked him how he felt about that, he said that it was "worth it" for the "hope" it gave him.
I would have teased him for that, but he was getting visibly angry so I dropped it. I think I'll poke that bear again today for fun.
>my wife and friends
>my wife's boyfriend
$58,000
it will be worth it you just wait idiots
A game like Star Citizen, with this level of visual fidelity and scope, simply doesn't exist in our time. The fact that people are complaining about a couple of years of development (in its current form) and a 250 million budget, for a game of this scale, shows that they have no idea about the challenges of such a project.
These people are going to be left behind.
None
I already knew about Freelancer's development history when SC was crowdfunding. The man can't be trusted with money.
nope was really into x wing and tie fighter tho
Feature bloat and limitless budgets are pretty obvious signs that there never will be a full game.
Post yfw you didn't fall for Scam Citizen
These things, they take time.
How many .jpgs have you payed for?
>can't refute anything I posted
>resorts to le epic meme
Classy.
Elite: Dangerous does 90% of what star citizen claims it will do, with a stable build and no millions of kickstarter dollars, now show me your thousand dollar images.
10 or 15 Bucks on a sale, don't really remember.
Pay the minimum value possible, wait for something to come out, if its shit then at least I didn't pay the price of a AAA game or more as retards have done and continue to do.
>Elite: Dangerous does 90% of what star citizen claims it will do
Not really.
no retard, we were just inteligent enough to see that this game is impossible and are laughing at you retards waiting years for a game that will come out as a shell of what was promised
I was close to
But i was a student back then, so had to save every penny i had. Glad o didn't fall for it
The best part is I love what Star Citizen could become, or even what it is now if they just finished and released it as is.
>I get to laugh at these retards spending thousands for me
>I either get a good game at the end or I get a pile of shit I didn't pay for and get to mock the people that sunk their life savings even harder
Literally a win/win situation for me.
