Hard mode: no stealth damage bonuses

Baldur's Gate 1

look for any game where it's part of a set of firearms, not competing with melee weapons. archery doesn't work in most fantasy games because they need to make melee equally viable. this is also why magic is garbage in 90% of games.

Dogma has pretty cool archery. Hell, Dogma has pretty cool everything.

>archery doesn't work in most fantasy games because they need to make melee equally viable.
Runescape unironically did a pretty good job of this. It's a triangle, magic > melee > archer > magic.

Dragon's Dogma

did someone say stealth archers

Dwarf Fortress's ranged combat can be pretty OP sometimes, just due to the nature of the damage system. You're fucked if you missed though, since it's kinda slow.

Mountain Blade
Kingdom Cum

Diablo II. From the release of LOD to 1.10 Burziazons were the most common build.

Diablo I the rouge was the easiest class too.

Pillars of Eternity. Dragon Age.

Zelda since the 90s.

It just doesn't work in fps games because either animation looks like shit or you're aiming a slow firing semi auto at fast enemies.

For third person it needed some sort of targeting lock for this reason.

You can play Baldur's Gate 1 and Icewind Dale as basically tactical shooters like SWAT 4 with ranged parties because ranged is king at low level D&D.

Other than that, Dragon's Dogma and Mount & Blade: Warband (mounted archery is king, especially in mods like Pendor with the advanced horse archery AI).

Guild Wars

Horizon: Zero Dawn's archery feels really good.

Too bad it's a shit game.

ROGUE* fucking shit

>Zelda since the 90s.
Doesn't feel like real archery but arrows in the NES Zelda game are actually really useful once you get over your fear of spending rupees to use them.

You can play Dark Souls using primarily archery, although you'll probably find it best to at least supplement with melee weapons.

Monster Hunter has bows, firearms and melee weapons and it works perfectly fine. Bows are up near the top of the list in terms of popularity, and do pretty well in speedruns and such too.

Unironically Zelda. Archery in BOTW is really very good, theres no auto aim and every bow has a different trajectory you have to learn, and lots of uses for the bow besides stealth sniping.

the very game you posted.
in skyrim even without a stealth damage bonus a powerful bow will still kill at most 2 shots

Last of Us. its the only silent ranged weapon, and the way aiming and ammo work for it are unique

That goes for any weapon in Skyrim that you can blacksmith if you can boost it high enough with enchantments and smithing potions

bows are pretty insane in MHW, it deals insane damage and can stun monsters better than the fucking hammer

Mount and Blade is probably the best since you can do horse archer as well which requires a huge amount of practice to get good at but is very rewarding.
