Golden Sun thread? Anyone know why they removed the ability to RNG item drops in Dark Dawn?
Both Robin and Hero only have Fire, Lightning, and Wind attacks. Golden Sun has so much more than that. It has Earth and Plants, which is Isaac's main elements, Water and Ice, Light and Dark, etc. etc. And those are just the elements. There's also giant hand magic, time stop, Djinn, summons, weapon unleashes, and so much more.
Just because you know nothing about a character doesn't mean they have no appeal.

Some people are attached to the franchise and Isaac is the first protagonist in said franchise so he was the one people rallied behind.
Plus the franchise has great music and any character from it would have great moveset potential. I made a webm about that once, but I seem to have misplaced it.

People always talk about moveset potential, but it's hard to think of characters who couldn't have a great moveset. It's like saying "the sky is blue."

Have you even played the game? Dark Dawn made it even more of a hassle by removing RNG. In GS/TLA, you could manipulate it and get whatever item you pleased, like the legendary Kikuichimonji. But in DD, they removed that and made it so that you can only get those items from random drops.

The point of Sakurai is perfectly capable of changing his mind /eventually/, but don't expect him to contradict himself right away. He made sure to emphasize bringing new game worlds to smash and making this game the biggest crossover it can possibly be. He already knows what characters he's adding and his comments reflect the direction he's going. Not to mention third party characters generate way more hype than any first party character ever could.
