For context, MM3D's tracks have a fuck ton of reverb and are in general pretty poorly mixed.
This guy basically ported the original tracks back into the game.

OoT3D had some mixing issues too, but not the same extent. In general MM3D was somehow a project which had more effort put into it than OoT3D (at least more time) whilst also being very sloppy with how it was changed.
It's finally gotten to the point now where the fans have fixed it however, and it's pretty much the definitive way to play.
Because Aonuma is a hack that doesn't understand the appeal of his own games.

For Zelda 1, I think it was just Gohma. LttP had Morpha at least (or whatever he was called there). OoT probably had the most with Gohma, Morpha, and Bongo Bongo.

That's one of the cool things about the original MM. The bosses for the most part gave you freedom to fight them as you however you wanted to. The new renditions limit your choices and provide you a clear weak spot, almost undermining the player's intelligence.

I can confirm that Odolwa is p.much back to his old self. You can damage him however you want now, and he has extra HP to compensate.
The Twinmold fight can't be changed without scrapping everything and starting over, however he takes FAR less time to kill now, his mechanics are more obvious (he doesn't reset the amount of hits required upon burrowing underground for example). The new fight is actually, about the same level as the old one in terms of quality (which was never great to begin with). It can't be restored but in terms of quality, it's a fine boss fight now.

It's at the point now where it doesn't matter. Before I would've advised you steer clear of MM3D but now it's at the point where you can't go wrong (as long as you patch the 3D version).

I never liked OoT but a friend keeps insisting that MM is much better and that I should play it.
It's worth experiencing at least once. OoT/MM comes down to preference at the end of the day. MM seems to be the perfect game for people who don't like/are bored by most Zelda games.
If you really didn't like OoT, I kind of doubt you'll like MM either, but maybe you will. It's like OoT but with less dungeons, more overworld work, and a much more tense and dread-filled atmosphere.
