What really matters is artstyle and how well you can present it. A good artstyle can function perfectly and flourish within the confines of what is technically possible. If you can't get that working then you either have a revolting artstyle or a photorealistic approach that is going to look outdated in a year at most.

If you're stuck with passionless, talentless hacks because you want to put out heavily marketed microtransaction platforms for people with no taste or standards then you will at most be putting hundreds of people to work polishing turds that look less impressive than what people managed to put out years ago when they actually gave a shit.
