Armstrong's critique of the United States and his positions regarding war were spot on, but the execution of his ideas and the hypocrisy they were founded on can't just be ignored because of that.
That said, he's still somehow both more honest and more correct than Liquid, Zero, or Big Boss, so he's at least got that going for him

It was hypocrisy to end the bigger hypocrisy of America being "good" while just profiteering off blood in africa. Only way to compete against a military force is with military force and he didn't want money which is more than everyone else in charge can say. Even that african "diplomat" in the beging was just wanting an urbanised africa, he didn't care what he did to achieve it. Armstrong wanted people to care about what they're doing, if they're doing war they need to feel it rather than just sending orphan's brains off to fight in mechs.
