So far it's been exactly what I remember from real vanilla, minus a few obvious changes. Mob AI is fucked, enemies do not fucking stand still at all:
Vanilla: Mobs would stand still most of the time. Occasionally, they'd wander in a straight line, then stop and wait, and then repeat after a noticable delay. Plenty of time for Rogues to get behind them for a pickpocket/ambush.
Classic: "NIGGA I NEED MORE COFFEE GIVE ME MORE CAFFEINE I'M ON CRACK GONNA RUN OVER HERE NO WAIT GONNA RUN OVER THERE NO WAIT GONNA GO BACK AND FORTH FAST AND MAKE IT FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE FOR ROGUES TO GET BEHIND ME FOR AMBUSH...oh wait I'll stand here for about 3...2...1...TIME TO HIT MY CRACK AGAIN AND MOVE NONSTOP FOR A GOOD FUCKING MINUTE STRAIGHT AND IN RANDOM DIRECTIONS"
The fact that they started on patch 1.13 is both good and bad, too. Good because some things are more viable and less pigeonholed, e.g; Druids aren't 100% Resto "because Innervate is a 31pt talent" (it's Swiftmend now) but bad because you niggas never have to "experience" that hellhole of progression we all had to during "phases 1 2 and 3" before they wised up, so it's not entirely accurate to Vanilla.
Drop rates on quest items are shit half the time, which is accurate, and very few of them share, which is also accurate but stupid. If they're going to change AI and Talents they should add a few minor QoLs like party quest credit/drop shares and slightly improved drop rates on the most abysmal quests.
This is was Vanilla was not the right choice, BC fixed a LOT of problems Vanilla had, and Cata fixed the Old World problems that Vanilla had/Classic has, like 5 fucking quests for a Dungeon and they're literally spread out across 3 major cities and only one nearby the actual dungeon, e.g; Wailing Caverns has a couple near it but there's 1 or two in Thunder Bluff, one in Undercity, another in Org.

I just go to another map with Quest around my previous couple levels bang those out and then go to the next one till I get to where I want to be. If you're a frost Mage you can literally just Farm shit endlessly its insanely simple

Do I care? No. It's not about who gets to 60 first and doing end game shit, it's all about having fun baby.
