It even had the best expansion of any strategy game.

>topped
it aged like milk.
Shogun 2 is superior in every way.

It was topped with the polished version just like Napoleon was better than Empire and Attila better than Rome 2

t. guy with thousands of hours in Rome 1 and loved it growing up.

no
the only way it can be topped is if you like middle age setting more... if thats the case then medieval 2 is the game for you

>aged like milk
t. zoomer

It aged like wine, played recently and it still holds up and is even beter in some aspects.

Not even close.

>Comfy Welsh bow master campaign
>Teutonic bloodbath or inspired Lithuanian resistance movement
>Spanish expansion into Mexico/Apache warpath

Best of all

>DEUS LO VULT HERETIC!

FUCK THE MOORS PRINCIPALITY OF ANTIOCH WILL RISE AGAIN!

Also infinitely better conversion mods.

I'm a med2 fag

It's a shame Attila surpasses both games and sits on the TW throne with S2

No it didn't.
The management part in the campaign is terrible.
The gameplay is unpolished, the units are laughable, and the diplomacy is botched.
this.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA
That was good. That was good.

you're the footfags of TW games

In terms of soul, never.

It will be topped by my dream game that marries grand strategy with accurate battle simulation. Been waiting years for it, but it will eventually happen. TW's overhead turn based campaign is way too braindead.

>most polished campaign
>serious middle-game threat
>engaging economy that requires planning
>family trees and decent internal power struggles
>best battle AI
>best campaign AI
>best cavalry charges
>not one, but two roman empires
>lots of units with cool hats and face mask helmets
>best graphics
>great DLC campaigns
>great music, arguably one of the better in the series (together with R1)
>decent straight from release day
also they managed to put atmosphere in a strategy game

Only the main menu music was good.

It's a matter of perspective.
If you want to talk new gen, Warhammer TW games stomp on Attila's neck and crush it. The only things Attila is arguably better are music and the near end boss.

Of course both games can't compare in mod-friendliness to Med2 or Rome1.

You know, I never considered footfags as having good taste. So you're either giving a false equivalence or I should pay more attention to these crypto-patricians.

As in he's a misunderstood genius?

>dealing with rebels and having the make peasant stacks is the hardest part of the entire expansion
It's pretty great outside of that factor

Tbf, some peasant uprisings have toppled entire governments/factions if you think about it.

>It aged like wine, played recently and it still holds up and is even beter in some aspects.
It suffers from some game breaking shit
>have to mod in a solution for squalor if you don't want to spam peasants in ultra late game
>whatever Roman family isn't player controlled will most likely shit itself and achieve nothing
>player needs to willingly refuse to use hoplites in sieges to give the AI a chance
>the northern barbarians have extremely limited rosters
>there's a few units that are so gimmicky that they might as well not exist
Rome and Medieval 2 are the kind of games that hold most of their ground thanks to being peak SOUL, I don't know how else to explain why despite both games being inferior to something like FOTS I still end up having what I assume are thousands of hours on these games. Fortunately all of my complaints can be fixed with mods which retain most of what makes Rome and even Med II fun

>R*me
I'm getting tired of this setting.

best total war game coming through.

Attached: TATW_.jpg (1280x720, 136K)

my nigga

All total war games are shit but you still buy them anyway because there's no other company making large 3D-scale battles like them.

I heard that's what Vercintegorix used to say, too.

Why yes, it's time for the threadly retard take on how he wants fleshed out diplomacy in a game called and focused on "Total War"

>i'm a complete retard

>install DAC
>wait the same amount of time it would take me to finish a small campaign in another mod to get the interesting units
>breathe in the general direction of a faction
>every city has a full garrison now and a bunch of full stacks showed up out of nowhere
Third Age and DAC somehow manage to captivate me because of the effort and passion that went into the projects but also manages to annoy me to no end

That's what I said.

That you're a complete retard? Glad you realize it.

>0 (zero) reading comprehension

>2019
>still no attila x64 patch

>Feature is terrible and completely broken/useless since the first title
>hurr its because of Total War
are you serious?

DaC huh?

>Why yes, I do prefer Medieval 2 and Warhammer as the best Total War games. How could you tell?

Attached: 1563195595900.png (723x666, 163K)

Yes, because it is am insignificant aspect of the game. The latter is not centered around diplomacy.

It's already been topped by Rome 2, Medi 2, Shogun 2, and both Warhammers. I had more fun with the og Shogun than I did with this game.

Have they stopped using the retarded mechanic where armies can only be recruited through generals and cities will always have full garrisons?

Well, 3K is centered around legendary generals, so I will let you guess the answer to that one.

MY FUCKING NIGGER RITE THURR

>Will it ever be topped?
I can't answer you.
The recent games don't have an UI scale option so I can't play anything past Medieval 2.

can you play dwarfs?

Attached: 1566245874787.gif (216x158, 1003K)

It's got the best amount of detail anyhow. Most strategy map features show up in the tactical map, even if they're useless. NEARBY strategy map features even show up in the horizon. And don't get me started on how fucking comfy it is seeing soldiers fall off the walls and die instead of being glued onto them like later games.

Also best OST of any TW ever.

>take the last settlement of the enemy
>"at last i have defeated the go-"
>they get 3 new full stacks
>mfw

Attached: hate.gif (230x222, 1.67M)

Is that screenshot from the last update? I think they remove the armor-piercing arrows from Legolas.

Attached: d6iu7xx-923adba8-495a-49a9-9e34-4834f9287be5.jpg (1920x1080, 2.82M)

Problem with Attila is it's basically a survival game against the Huns and most didn't want that from their Total War.

>mfw we'll never EVER get a single package as expansive and filled with content as Kingdoms

You know they'd just re-sell each individual campaign for like $15 today.

Attached: TES_dagoth despairs.jpg (635x457, 108K)

Only if Total War Warhammer had the same campaign features from Rome or Medieval 2

Attached: r0w0mp887aa11.jpg (460x559, 42K)

CA made a mistake when they moved from a simple yet functional Risk-style map of Medieval into full 3D. It just turned the entire thing into "do I have enough move points to muck about?".

Attached: ie9ditjwa7f21.jpg (1024x768, 289K)

WHAT?

it was, long ago.
no, but it definitely had the worst expansion of any TW game.

>>great music, arguably one of the better in the series (together with R1)
Lol no. Rome 1 and Medieval 2 have the best soundtracks in the series, I don't think any other game even comes close. You forgot to mention that it runs like ass too.

kingdoms didn't have as many new unique assets in comparison to what they put out now in warhammer dlc, for example. at most you had to reskin basic models.

What's the music like in warhammer and 3k?

How do i make this work on Windows 10?

Attached: 1563633018424 – Kopi.png (1440x1168, 768K)

You most likely need to install older DirectX because they stopped being entirely cumulative at some point. If your game is simply crashing to windows during logo videos or refusing to start entirely.

>hisfag got btfo yesterday so now he has to make another thread

Attached: drengBarazi.png (575x728, 499K)

very funny,stop with the bait.
game is alright, but has been topped for ages now

Warhammer tracks are mostly just bland because Beddow is just an alright composer but none of them are awful. 3K just sound like chinese music but thats because Beddow isn't the sole composer.

Beddow just doesn't have any sense of dynamic flow to the intensity of his tracks and some of them sound very samey like youtu.be/rJhYB_OWCQ8 and youtu.be/VlsmTkWnyyg

yah nah m8
I, too, recently played it and I couldn't put it down. Then again I'm 28 and I'm assuming you're 15 at the oldest

you sound like your are 15 at the oldest,if you prefer rome thats fine, but lets not pretend that the game hasn´t aged at all and has been eclipsed by it´s successors

what is this from?
