>Why did Yea Forums say it sucked?

It's not a weeb game with anime tissues flashing and isn't a multiplayer game
Yea Forums is full of gamers and zoomers who only view video games as a replacement for social experiences

does anyone on this site actually know what this means?

Will I miss a lot of story/references if I play the second game and skip the first one?

You really should play the first one. The second one is great but the first one is still better imo one of the best survival horror games of the 2010s only second to RE2 Remake

as far as story goes you probably can look up a youtube recap or some shit and be fine but beating it yourself would be the ideal route.

And miss out on the better game? Anyway the answer is yes.

I thought everyone agreed it was good.

I think TEW2 is much better than the first one, but I'm still really glad I did. You'll miss out on SO much if you don't experience the first one. It really depends on twisting your perceptions of the first game. Especially some of the final bosses which were such a great payoff.

There's a scene in TEW2 that will give you so much pleasure if you play the first one. Plus, it's cheap and not a long game at all.

I don't know, you'd have to ask him

Seb looks so kino and sounded great in 1. What happened? Still both great games. Chapter 6 on Akumu mode almost gave me cancer though.

I played both in reversed order and still enjoyed them both. The story is not that interesting anyway and just an excuse to put some weird shit here and there, which is fine by me though

Congratulations on having terrible taste in games.

it's literally a weeb game tho you retarded westcuck

unlike yourself right?

Ok I guess I'm playing the first one then. Thanks for the input.

yea alot better than re2 too

We didn't. It's really good but doesn't have the variety and level design of the first game. Still really enjoyable though, the open town parts are great and the boss fights are above average. And that one amazing part I won't spoil.

TEW 2 took a huge shit on everything that made TEW 1 a great game.

I guess if you like to be able to cheap backstab everything, spend all your time hiding in fucking bushes and having shit bosses you will enjoy this game.

played both, the open world was fun in 2 but there was something that suited the game more about the chapters in 1. Overall really fun, comfy solo game

Because it sucked.

>TEW 2 took a huge shit on everything that made TEW 1 a great game.
I thought it was a bit generic compared to the first since they added in a bunch of trendy shit like the open world and crafting but I thought it retained a decent amount of elements from the first while improving on it to make it a worthwhile experience. Combat is still as satisfying as ever along with exploration.

OP you just realized that people on Yea Forums don't play videogames?

>sucked
2 wasn't as good as the first but it didn't suck. You haven't played a truly bad game if you think TEW2 sucked.

2 was much better than 1 from the gameplay prospective

any sane person will tell you that 2 is a great game that improve upon the piece of turd that was tew1 which is true aside from the new VA

>Combat is still as satisfying as ever along with exploration.
Yeah, fiddling with "hold x to make a bullet" menu every couple of seconds while exploring generic as fuck looking countryside with barely to no houses to be accessed and occasionally pulling out shit from the trashcans is so satisfying, amirite.
>You haven't played a truly bad game if you think TEW2 sucked
I've played Drakengard 3, thanks for reminding, asshole.

Because Yea Forums is hipster central.
The one time we get a good old style survival game that isn't playing hide and seek with poorly rendered models while on a theme park ride they have to take a dump on it.

Wish they toned down new game plus. You become so overpowered it's not even fun to play. Still like some challenge with new game plus.

ITT tango shills coping with the fact that they've lost the single and the last promising creative director from the studio and now they desperately need to get enough money to shit out castrated version of Ghostwire directed by Johanas in order to Zenimax not to cut them all down.

Attached: have sex.jpg (391x515, 58K)

no one even mention ghostwire retard

I know others have (correctly) answered you, but I want to mention that the best part of playing 1 for me was just how superbly 2 references it. Made me feel a sense of nostalgia which I really loved.

Playing it with infinite magnum after Classic Mode was pretty kino actually. Lots of unexpected achievements too

BUT I WON'T CRY FOR YESTERDAY

TEW2 highlights how fundabmentally shit the western storytelling is compared to japanese when it comes to horror stories.
It removed every single piece of uncertainty, spelled out everything so even retards could understand and focused on incredibly boring "save muh daughter" story we've seen myriad of times now.

You're right but to be fair how many people play a game like the evil within for the story?

>Director is fired, her game is canned
>Two days later sudden threads about the most embarrasingly bad, buggy and unoptimized B-team cash-in of 2017 that flopped so hard they were forced to pay youtubers en masses in order to promote it half of a year after initial release
You won't be fooling anybody shill. Fuck your ubisoft-tier dumpsterfire trash open-world shit, fuck Bethesda and more importantly fuck Johanas. Such a promising series ruined for nothing, because of faggots like you.

Attached: ThxJohanas.jpg (1920x2160, 2M)

TEW2 throws story at you all the fucking time beyond the first big open area.

Lots of people I'd imagine.

Akumu mode being actually balanced this time around more than made up for it.
If you ignore all the villains and side quests that makes the story interesting and simplify it to only the driving motif of the narrative then yeah, you're right, TEW 2 is boring. However, that doesn't make TEW 1 any better a story.
Good. Now they can go back to making TEW 3 and I don't have to wait 5 years to play it.

yea dude shills are on Yea Forums promoting a 2 year old game because your waifu left the company. take your meds schizo faggot

Yea Forums hates every game. This board is about complaining about games.

Attached: Sekai Oni.jpg (760x1404, 401K)

You're the first one in the thread bringing it up you delusional sped

Attached: 1449097826754.png (468x345, 226K)

is there a way to fix the first one's texture popping yet?

based and true

Sebastian, did I ever mentioned that everyone in Moebius including security guards have a microchips in their heads that are directly tied to STEM virtual reality machine that can fry they brains with a simple line of code?

>If you ignore all the villains and side quests
Neither villains nor side quests add anything of value beyond removing even more uncertainty present in the story.
In fact TEW2 antagonists are universally shit, even Stefano who went down in the most unsatisfying way possible.
>TEW 1 any better a story
TEW 1 feels like a legitimate thriller where you're locked in a world of a mad, incest-obsessed lunatic, which makes it far, FAR better than last of us tier garbage of TEW 2 even before the actual direction comes into play.

I respect your subjective opinion, but humbly disagree with it.

I think it's better than the first, it just throws you into the shit and allows you to play at your own pace even though the story kind of falls apart in spots and feels like there was obvious Bethesda meddling when interacting with NPCs. The first one felt too tedious and slow just for the sake of it, like it was a AAA game trying to bring back early Survival Horror with a modern coat of paint but doing so as marking off a checklist than doing it with the context and limits of video games back then. People can speed run early SH and RE, can you speed run the first TWE? Fuck no. I think I tried playing it with a trainer and I gave up early on.

Attached: 1523347146288.png (500x374, 155K)

Dilate, bethesdacuck, you won't sell any copies today.
Cope.

>I think I tried playing it with a trainer and I gave up early on.
I wish I read this first to disregard your retarded post.

Literally Downpour clone. Why the fuck am I listened to you guys, refunding this shit right now.

Not really, 2nd game references it a lot. But the first game is quite different from the 2nd one, far more linear but at the same time it has far more variety in areas and gameplay. EW2 is a more balanced experience with little sandbox elements thrown in the mix but its not quite as unpredictable as the first game.

In the first game you can't expect anything that is about to happen next, you can walk through a corner and the game just decides to throw you into a huge freaky area which looks drastically different from the area you just passed through.

Attached: Yourbody.jpg (640x977, 72K)

Play it on PC thats actually not made out of wood.

Does the console version even allow you to remove the letterboxing? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

The first one is just better.

Xbone and Ps4 do. I don't know about 360

Cool, I guess. I mean I usually don't play games with hacks/mods/trainers unless I need too, and I tried to give TWE a chance. It was just so fucking boring. Like a worse RE4 just prettier and doubled down on general horror than with a focus on set universe context like aforementioned RE4. And I fucking despite RE4 after playing the shit out of it when I was younger.

I disagree. The open levels in 2 are cool but 1 has more variety. The mansion? The underground full of traps? Subway? Catacombs? It's just cool. I will admit the open level in the village in chapter 3 is one of the best levels as well.

this

Attached: projection nigger.jpg (1440x647, 50K)

What would a trainer even add to the game? Are ypu retarded?

I prefer 2 over 1. The first one was too random it put me off. The second game but with the first games graphics and controls would be perfect.

...You do realize listing them all off like that makes it sounds like a check list for a CoD game, right? Or any RE game anymore before 7? Considering how linear TWE felt like? Like how it seemed Capcom was just remaking the same mansions, labs, cities, urban areas, etc...?

Faster progression.

Attached: 1500096688043.png (491x411, 158K)

Because you can skip the entire gameplay by waiting in a corner and pressing X.

the second one had much better gameplay and the cinematics were a lot more competently directed.

You realize the city areas in 2 were just a checklist for a GTA game right? Going back and forth the same areas. Talking to NPCs around town. Doing missions for them. Is that what you like? GTAcuck?

Just kidding it's not like that. Just wanted to show you how retarded you sound.

...Has someone wronged or hurt you?

>listening to Yea Forums
>ever
You fucked up, son. You fucked up real bad.

I'm not gay, but Joseph Oda is fucking hot.

Attached: 1503464010233.png (1098x766, 802K)

>Yuri Lowenthal

He doesn't sound so hot.

I remember it had a kino trailer and the song remix was amazing

>last of us tier garbage
That's pretty high-tier garbage, though TEW2 is nowhere near close. It's probably worse than TEW story-wise but the original is also not that noteworthy

Why has sandbox horror not taken off? Crawling around the map with my remaining 2 bullets was fucking great, certainly better than the sandbox "stealth" games like assassins creed and far cry

>Crawling around the map with my remaining 2 bullets was fucking great
You mean "survival horror"?

>dude what if we turned Evil Within into the shittiest version of Skyrim ever

they bought the open world meme and wew the results were stank
