Fire Emblem

Seeing all you fucks have so much fun with the new one made me jealous so I decided to actually give the series a try.
Is this a good starting point?

Yeah either FE7 or FE8 are probably the best starting points. FE8 (sacred stones) is by far one of the easiest games in the franchise.

fuck off we're full

Yes play it

Absolutely. Only issue Sacred Stones really has is that it's piss easy to break in half if you have the faintest idea of what you're doing and/or use Seth at all. Outside of that it has good supports (albeit locked behind the terrible GBA framework), a very tight cast and incentives to replay the game at least 3 times. Creature Campaign is a nice bonus if you like to play with your units as well.

Gotcha, thanks.
I haven't played a TRPG since TO: LUCT, so I'm pretty excited.
What are some other good ones? I've heard Fates was the one game to avoid at all costs.

Sacred stones is a good starting point, it's the bridge between the old style and the new style, while being the easiest in the series.

The only games I would skip are Revelations, and the old version of games that have remakes now. Fates isn't that bad. The story is bad but it's abd upgrade from Awakening otherwise.

You can't go wrong with either of the GBA games. If you have a Wii/Wii U you can hack it and run Path of Radiance. It's also pretty good. Never played Radiant Dawn.

Fates is really three games. Conquest is good, Birthright and Revelations are less so.
