Guys, is this a good time to ask what the fuck is up with people thinking God of War is good?
I played up to the first boss and had to drop that fucking game because every single aspect of the gameplay was abysmal. Does the gameplay get a lot better after the first boss?
Every fight was a bunch of spawns of a single enemy type, which were all slight health sponges, and the most effective way to kill them seemed to be mash heavy attack, which perma-stunlocked all of them.
Then I fought the first boss, he had about 3 attacks total, and every single one of them (minus his stomp) could be safely evaded by dodging left around him.
And all of this was broken up by unskippable cutscenes that took too long and that I really didn't give a shit about. Is this first part of the game a real representation of how the rest of the game is? How the fuck does anybody have so few brain cells as to actually enjoy this massive piece of shit? Please fucking reply because I'm genuinely confused.

You may not like, but The Witcher is the greatest game of this generation, just by shear ambitious of the project alone. Open-world game developed by the studio that never did open-worlds before. Not just that, the game manages to impress on so many levels. Story, graphics, music, locations, the best dlcs in the industry, you name it. Not any game came close to it.
Bloodborne? Yet another Dark Souls reskin, good as it is, but hardly impressive.

If you enjoyed this game, you have genuine bad taste in video games.
I usually equate the GoW series to X-Men franchise, namely revolving around Wolverine.
Sure the early iterations were campy and wouldn't be considered "good" by film critics, but they were fun and enjoyable popcorn flicks.
Then you have Logan; aka nuGoW.
Tries too hard to be super serious and gritty; a kind of non-cape capeshit film that wants to break free from it's past.
And only ends up being drawn out and tiresome at best.
Wolverine thrived best in an environment when he was the gruff, cynical, no-nonsense character surrounded by Captain Do-Gooder and Co.
Just as Kratos thrived being an angry, vengeful son of a bitch that would kill shit just because it was in his path, and gave 0 fucks about other living people.
