Yeah, this game is going to be better than Jedi Academy.
Yeah, this game is going to be better than Jedi Academy
No dismemberment no buy
idk if they're not bullshitting about its progression being like Metroid Prime, then it could be good.
Does this actually matter to people?
Should I buy Jedi academy? Is it worth 10 bucks?I played outcast back in the day and enjoyed it alright but some of the levels were a slog.
>be literally any game
>pick something the game wont have
>no [feature] no buy
yawn
>Giving money to EA
>Giving money to Disney
>Giving money to Epic
It could be the greatest Star Wars game ever made and I still wouldn't play it. Fuck EA, fuck Nu Wars and fuck Unreal Engine
yes its great. its a mostly disconnected series of brief star wars stories with a pretty broad variety of planets and enemies. plus character customization and choosing a light or dark path
Yeah, and figure out whatever server software is used most. When I played it was Gameranger. Dual servers are a lot of fun.
haha. oh wow. I feel bad for you, you probably tried it ten years too late and didnt like the graphics. Trust me though, Academy is hard to beat
just pirate it you spaz
>douht.jpg
I want to believe but I haven't seen anything impressive so far
Outcast was better
No point in giving money for it, LUCASARTS is long gone...
>PLEASE PLAY OUR GAME
No. Fuck off shill
are you actually retarded? the devs don't get a penny if you pirate. kill yourself you wannabe
>Does this actually matter to people?
Yes.
I like Respawn but I have no confidence that they’re even the same company anymore. I heard a lot of the guys that worked on Titanfall 2 are gone now and that added on top of being directly owned by EA just turns me away. I dunno, I hope to pirate it I guess.
>GOD PLEASE PLAY OUR GAME WE NEED THE ATTENTION
I said no you disgusting shill. Do us all a favor and stop being so pathetic
take your medication before using the computer you fucking moron
As it should. It's in ESB, RotJ, TPM, AotC, RotS and TLJ. If its in the movies, why not have it in the games?
>If its in the movies, why not have it in the games?
IIRC, EA's putting the blame for this on Disney now.
Imagine fighting an army of stormtroopers like Kingdom Hearts 2 or 3's heartless army fights.
The game could be the best Star Wars game in almost a decade and it still wouldn’t be better than Jedi Academy.
t. angry shill
Id rather play as the scout trooper desu
> fuck Unreal Engine
Stay SEETHING Tim
Thanks for the free games, Tim
It's also in A New Hope, when Obi Wan slices off that one alien's arm. The Force Awakens has stabbing through the chest which is close.
This. The thing is that it also won't be good
Yeah but it's selective. Luke doesn't cut any limbs on the skiff IIRC and in ROTS there's a lot of slicing across chests without bisecting. It usually only happens when it's important for someone to lose a limb or head, otherwise it's generally just guns that get cut up. And it's never been common in vidya, Outcast is the only game to have it IIRC and even then it was an Easter egg and not a main feature. Writing off a game for lacking it is silly, you should be writing this game off for looking like a braindead bore.
Alright, I got it. So Jaden is canonically supposed to be a Twilek, right?
>Does this actually matter to people?
dismemberment was great in jka because if you fucked up you get your limbs/head cut of and die in an instant. it made saber combat actually dangerous and fun.
>make game
>include iconic weapon
>make it perform completely differently
not buy
what about all the good star wars games without it
>canon
Canon doesn't matter.
But no, Jaden was later canonized to be a human male in a couple of books.
The most celebrated aspect of lightsabers within the movies was the fact that they would slice through almost anything, with nearly every saber clash resulting in dismemberment or decapitation. Darth Maul cleaved in two, Dooku having both hands severed and then summarily decapitated, Anakin losing his forearm and later both legs, Zam Weasel, losing her arm, Mace Windu lost his hand, same with Luke Skywalker, General Grievous loses multiple hands, Jango is beheaded, Geonosians are bisected and sliced to ribbons, along with the Acklay and every single battledroid. Luke even cuts off the wampa's arm in ESB. It's the defining characteristic of the weapon and it's fucking stupid to see it used as a child's toy. Fuck you for even asking.
yeah but what about all the good star wars games without it tho
>tfw attack jedi knowledge
Name one decent Star Wars game where the primary weapon was a lightsaber that couldn't dismember enemies. Because I cannot stand anaemic melee combat in general and can name Star Wars games that aren't decent for that very reason.
They've already been paid you cuck.
Sales are just the return of investment to shitty EA and the shareholders.
>EA
dark forces 2, kotor, TFU wii
now Jaden goes by zhe/zher pronouns
Will it have Darth Talon in it?
Or, will you at least be able to recreate her in all her curvaceous glory?
If yes, then it's a pre-order from me.
Honestly this is part of the reason why Jedi focused games suck absolute dick. The lightsaber is special in Star Wars and its ability to cut through anything, including limbs, is typically used to punctuate dramatic scenes. Jedi are supposed to be powerful, resourceful, and honorable enough to only use it when absolutely necessary. But in games you hack up more bad guys in one level than Luke does in the entire trilogy and adding dismemberment on top of that makes the whole thing start to seem gruesome to the point that it's no longer an elegant civilized weapon. The best Star Wars games are shooters and space sims for this reason.
I hated the combat in kotor to no end. I am still salty about it even now. It might be a decent game outside the Star Wars universe, but it an awful Star Wars game.
>TFU
Fuck off, that isn't even a good game in and of itself. Of all the games you could have listed, that is the last one I expected to be on a list of good games. It's an affront to the brand.
>dark forces 2
Had limb dismemberment, albeit you could only slice off their arm occasionally, but it was a neat detail nonetheless.
People have complained about no decapitation in stuff like KOTOR as well.
TFU has it but nobody likes TFU.
>have a vast universe of different possible species
>I'll pick the human!
Twilek was the default so I'm sticking with it.
Disney's decision, not Respawn's.
fuck off ea shill. game looks like shit and will be shit
I thought the wii version was pretty good
>Does this actually matter to people?
yeah. not only cause its a cool immerseive mechanic that adds a huge amount of power to the lightsabre, and that it has a good feed back for the player.
The reasoning behind it is clearly for the "wider audience" meme.
Its like if god of war removed all the blood or something. that would be retarded.
>haha killing storm troopers is great
>but no dismemberment, that will make people feel bad
wut
It's true of sci-fi/fantasy in general, but Star Wars has a bad habit of all the vast majority of notable characters being human.
its core to the jedi series
It doesn't look very good and will probably bomb but I hope it's a sleeper hit or something so EA doesn't fuck Respawn to death and we might have a shot at Titanfall 3.
Academy's the same. Great gameplay and mechanics and a lot of fun but some of the levels are confusing and janky. I just replayed it a few weeks ago and got confused on some levels about where to go and what to do, despite having done them before. Other levels are amazing, though.
>idk if they're not bullshitting about its progression being like Metroid Prime, then it could be good.
Yeah, that alleged dev claiming the game is a Metroidvania-style game with a ship and crew is the only thing holding my interest. I'm not sure how much water I think it holds, though, since I haven't seen it spoken about since that post.
It looks like your average cinematic QTE experience.
