nope, but I'll keep an eye on it
Yes. Even if some of the crafting shit looks tedious I've been looking forward to being able to play an AC game on a console again for like a decade at this point.
the crafting turns me off a bit but I'll still play it.
Animal crossing people look kind of... uncanny in higher definition.
yes, so much
Not at all. Animal Crossing needs new ways to explore and interact with a virtual world, not more ways to play dollhouse and satisfy autism.
March can't come soon enough.
I'm excited for the game. Hope the next video showcases some of the special visitors and shopkeepers.
I've got an itch for AC but I still wanna see what else they're gonna show for it
There were a couple shots in the reveal trailer that didn't have the rolling log angle
And it's not like Nogami and his team can't design better character models considering Splatoon exists. At the very least I wish they would give the characters Mitten hands like what Sakurai did for villager in Smash.
>8 player online
Holy shit, how we fucking up random Yea Forumsirgin's town?
Pick up all of their trees and arrange them in swastikas
This game requires too much work and dedication. I don’t think I can see myself playing animal crossing since I enjoy other games as well. Why should I spend my entire day grinding when I can simply go play some mind numbing call of duty
>island with palm trees
>Snows
Why even bother with the island gimmick if they are just going to treat it like a regular AC area?
What if this is just prep for you just having the option to use your mii as the avatar
The only game i'm excited for on the Switch, looks amazing
You could already do that
animalcrossing.fandom.com
Unless you mean the Mii mask that was an optional accessory in City Folk and New Leaf, they're not gonna make the characters Miis. Especially since the Switch has further downplayed their integration with everything compared to the Wii and Wii U.
>rolling log
what, you mean the acre system?
>crafting
just an optional addition to progress
Is the island going to be like, the whole game? The map they showed in some of the E3 gameplay looked very small. I'm worried that there won't even be a shopping center or anything.
huh
Yes, I am so fucking excited. I like the crafting aspect. Iffy on moving trees but as long as they treat it as a shortcut and still allow you to plant fruit I won't mind. I'm even excited for the different types of weeds and plants, it showed some sort of wheat stalk growing during fall. FUCK I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW
Cautiously so. What we’ve seen is a really solid foundation and the gameplay we just saw yesterday was pretty fucking stunning for a Switch game, but we haven’t seen anything with much depth yet. I’m worried the game is getting rushed out and there won’t be much to it besides the island gimmick. It’s gonna be a huge fucking disappointment if there’s no buildings and shops with special things to do in them to add that variety the game needs.
I don't like Animal Crossing, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shit on it. But the character they chose for the direct makes me think of a gay black tranny and I can't stop giggling to myself.
Animal Crossing has always been a dollhouse & chores simulator. Try something like Astral Chain if your ADHD is that bad.
Math was done was the game was first revealed, iirc it seems to have the second largest map in the series behind the GC game. Plus the beaches aren't dead space this time around, you can actually do stuff with them.
The threads in Yea Forums will be so chill
there is literally nothing wrong with rolling log, stop bitching
Yes I am very excited. I don't normally like crafting but it seems like it's being implemented well. The graphics and setting are extremely cozy as well. I don't think it will top GCN, but I'm excited regardless.
>reach user's island
>the seven of us are greeted with a sign that reads "Welcome to FAGGOT Island!"
>the trees are already in the form of swastikas
>I'm finally home
She cute
you too
Same, the crafting is the only thing I'm kinda iffy on but the rest looks great. If I can pick were villagers set up their tents/house for maximum autism I'd be in heaven.
Where's her nose
I imagine it will start off with a lot of griefing but then turn into comfy trade threads and group pictures with the lads.
Does anyone plays these games regularly after the first month or two? I never come back to it like I do for smash or DK
i had 500ish hours in acnl but to be fair i time traveled sometimes
From the trailer it looks like animals can interact with the furniture you've placed outside. I guess that directly building shit in the overworld is going to replace public works projects.
Bootleg harvest moon/story of seasons
>bootleg
nice bait
Thank
for me its going to add a huge reason to actually buy a switch that's for sure.
isn't that a girl's game?
looks like shit
i played new leaf daily for a long, long time, but only for an hour or so. i believe thats the best way to do these games, it supports that kind of regular quick check in feel itself.
The crafting system takes away from the comfy atmosphere of the game. How am I supposed to relax if im preoccupied with micromanaging?
Never played AC before and wasn't that interested but the direct piqued my interests, looks comfy and has a bit of a survival kids thing going on.
Yeah, but even though they're pushing these multiplayer features, I'm probably just going to play it without using any of them.
She looks like agent 8
can't wait to seed some n00bs
She looks nothing like 8, the hell?
Rolling long is outputting at first but you honestly stop noticing its there after playing for a while.
If there's a way to stop time progression like NL, then sure.
>that scene from the overview video where its windy and the leaves on the trees are shaking
There's only one reason I'm playing.
You do not ever have to craft. All items can just be bought in store.
I'd they think this looks like 8 wait'll they set the villager that moves in when you scan an Octolings amiibo
>hating on the rolling log
One of the things that makes animal crossing unique from other life/town sims, I've played since GC and I loved the change in WW
>tfw Nintendo basically announced you won’t be able to own a town with people over online during the direct yesterday
*clanks champagne glass loudly and clears throat* fuck Nintendo EPD, fuck the entire nation of Japan, and fuck the lazy piece of trash devs for not being able to implement a feature that would make Animal Crossing far better
Sure am. I've noticed they've improved the visuals a bit since E3. I hated how the grass and snow looked there, thankfully it appears to be closer to the traditional AC style now.
God I hope the rerolling for desired villagers is simple in this one. I will restart the game until I at least got one of my fav. villagers in the town
my nigger
It's the pupils, they just look weird and kind of unnecessary. The shiny hair is fine but the AC eye style was designed to be purely flat if you ask me. It'd be like if they gave Toon Link pupils or something.
just harass them till they leave or kill them and throw the body in the ocean because i doubt there are laws on the nook island
Because the deserted island theme is the in-universe justification for having to build the entire town from scratch
>not digging up all of that user's swastika trees and replanting them in the shape of menorahs
come on bro, at least try.
personally i don't like being able to shovel up and move trees. I feel like having to replant them was reasonable enough already. If they make things too convenient it's going to start to be as boring as minecraft creative mode is.
So is Isabelle not going to be in this? It seems odd that they havent shown off their most popular character at least once
>ankhafags
At least you outed yourself as having no real interest in the series, but come on. How were pedo8 and Teckworks able to influence these people so much?
>rolling log
It's the terminology used to describe how the terrain curves around like a log, allowing for a top-down view of the character while also being able to see the sky, instead of being flat like in Animal Crossing GameCube. But at the same time, criticism of it is not without its own merits; it is unnecessarily difficult to see what's coming up when you're travelling south. I've lost many a rare bug to being southernly-blind in New Leaf due to how low the character is placed.
It's the second biggest only if you count all the water areas and all the beach, but iirc it has the 2nd smallest amount of "land"/grass right behind wild world because of all the coastline.
And that's a good thing. I can't thank based Nogami enough for finally putting an end to the shill shit. Now Nook's the main man again and Isabelle is going to be treated like every other special NPC (That being, you have to unlock her like everyone besides the Nooks) instead of being shoved in your face all the time. I feel free.
She'll definitely be in this. Maybe they'll announce her right before the game comes out or something. She'll probably manage some shop or building that will be optional, that you'll have to build. Which sounds good to me. As long as she isn't forced like she was in NL, I'm happy. I don't want her being the series mascot.
Well Yea Forums is a girls board
Hope I can build a giant sandcastle house.
Why did no one reply to me?
They said during one of the Treehouse events that she will appear at some point, and that her appearance depends on the state of your island.
Because your hatred of her is correct, and there's nothing to really argue with you about
I can see two options for Isabelle in this game. After your town gets big enough to need a town hall either you import her to be the mayor or you import her to be your assistant again.
That's not me. why are you trying to make me look like an attention whore? Knock it off.
I agree, it seems silly when they had a reasonable turn around time to plant trees to allow people to just uproot the trees. However, it's a small grievance.
Because your post was a QED
I agree. Hopefully it's not a big deal, but yeah, this one little thing is what immediately jumped out at me during the initial reveal + the newest footage. It just seems too easy.
>crafting
I know this seems like an obligatory mechanic to be featured in AC, especially because there can be a prominent lack of things to do each day, but after years of generic crafting materials fetching in almost every modern game I think this makes AC worse. Maybe it'll be done well but I really am tired of crafting systems. There can be other ways to introduce more gameplay without compulsory busywork that's detached from socializing with other players. Even worse there'll be hackers day 1 to obliterate the online community yet again which makes this sort of item collecting more pointless. I was expecting more spontaneous events new ways to barter and new perks to playing with friends. This is just mobile game tier design.
samefag
No, it's still too far off from release.
