KoF15 is honestly probably the reason he got in. Remember, Nintendo chose the DLC characters this time around. I can't imagine any plausible scenario that would lead to them choosing Terry besides making some kind of really favorable deal with SNK. They're probably hoping the Smash exposure will help boost KoF sales.

Terry is big in the arcade scene in a lot of places except America. Saying you're a big gamer but not knowing a huge arcade icon around the globe hurts your credibility and it seems in this case, really has exposed a lot of people.
