Which Sanic era was the best?

Y2K > Neon > Emo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ironic

Dreamcast era

The pairings are bad. It should go:
Classic: Sonic 1-3
Adventure: Adventure 1-Shadow
Early Modern: 06-Generations
Late Modern: Lost World-Forces.

Which in that pairing it is:
Early Modern>Classic>Adventure>Late Modern

Shadow is modern. It's the first mainline game that was murdered by the press and split the fanbase in half.

Classic (1991-1997) has 3 good games (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles).
Adventure (1998-2005) has 5 good games (Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Advance, Sonic Battle, Sonic Rush)
Modern (2006-2013) has 8 good games (Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Riders, Sonic Rush Adventure, SASASR, SASRT, Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Generations, Sonic Generations DS)
Post-Modern (2014-2019) has 2 good games (Sonic Mania, Team Sonic Racing)

People are gonna say that the Y2K 3D games were the best when in reality they were bad designed games with horrible graphics.

How the fuck is Sonic Unleashed emo?

Story and gameplay wise though, it's closer to the Adventure games than anything else. It'd also be the only game from its console generation to be "modern". It doesn't fit with the modern games

100% accurate.

We're talking about aesthetics though.
Aesthetics-wise, Shadow is closer to Unleashed than it is to Heroes.

Sonic CD is the best Sonic game

>best era
early 2000s. I think the classic games are objectively better but sonic had alot going for him in the early 2000s with both 3D games with adventure, and 2D with advance.

I love Classic and Adventure, but Boost made me the most happy
>Unleashed
>Colors
>Generations
>All in a row

How dare you sully the name of the early 2000s Sonic games by posting a 2010s dabbing pic in the same post.
You are no better than the people in Star Wars Youtube clip comments who pretend to like the movies just so they can spout Twitter memes.

Neon > Ironic > Y2K > Emo
Y2K would have a better shot at being above ironic if it weren't for the fact that you stapled fucking Heroes to it.

But Heroes is a masterpiece. If you don't cry playing Casino Park Zone, you have no soul.

It was the only sonic pic I had sorry m8.

I think most Sonic-related things that came out before the millennium has the most charm. SA2 onward is when things started to have a different feel to it.

The eras should be
>Classic(1991 - 1994)
>Saturn Dry Spell(1995 - 1997)
>Adventure(1998 - 2005)
>Dark Age(2006 - 2009)
>Modern(2010 - present)

Stop trying to cram Shadow into the old school zoomers. It's garbage.

Zelek.

>Adventure(1998 - 2005)
>Dark Age(2006 - 2009)
Dark Age started with Shadow, user.

>If you don't cry playing Casino Park Zone, you have no soul.
I mean, I do cry, you aren't wrong.

Dark Age started with Heroes, zoomers.
First console Sonic not to be developed for a Sega system, first console Sonic to force a shitty gimmick, first console Sonic to really start to shake the fanbase's and critic's faith in the series.

Weird single spacing zoomer

I think sonic boom could have been a good game. It had some good ideas, character redesigns were well done, and it knew what it wanted to be. It was built more like a 3D platformer and less like a sanic game.
Then they rushed it and made it unplayable.

>le zoomer XD
Who came up with this buzzword? It obviously doesn't mean anything, so why the fuck does it exist?

Classic > Ironic > Modern > Emo

>Dark Age started with Heroes, zoomers.
Eh, Heroes was pretty mediocre, but it didn't make the series look like a complete joke to most people like Shadow did. I remember some people thinking that reveal image of Shadow standing with a gun was some kind of April Fools joke when it was first shown off.

>Weird single spacing zoomer
What.

Heroes also had the same aesthetics a lot of media in the early-mid 2000s had. You know, this anime-influenced cyber-futuristic design.
That's pretty boomer if you ask me. Minimalism and "post-irony" is zoomer.

Classic (1-3&k), and Adventure era (SA1-Heroes+Riders).

Close runner up is the quick stint we had of Colors+Generations. These eras felt like they actually had a distinct feel and tone to them that felt consistent and of actual quality. Everything else feels generic, cheap, or poorly thought out.

>Heroes also had the same aesthetics a lot of media in the early-mid 2000s had. You know, this anime-influenced cyber-futuristic design.
Just felt like an attempt at classic aesthetics in 3D to me. I suppose the game's menu designs did.
>That's pretty boomer if you ask me. Minimalism and "post-irony" is zoomer.
Would you shut the fuck up with this buzzword shit. Do you not realize how stupid you sound?

Shadow was just so bizarre that most people didn't know what to make of it.
If we're being real here, though, it was Sonic 06' that actually made Sonic a complete joke. We're still recovering from it.

Sonic Adventure Era
Take me back

I was just a stupid kid who didn't know what the difference between a good and bad video game

They were all just fun

Boomer means "good taste, old-school, retro". Zoomer means "shit taste, new-school, modern".

I know exactly what it means. It still makes you sound like an idiot.

Classic > Ironic > Neon > Emo

Classic is Neon.

FUCCKKKKKKKKKK.

Guess I gotta kill myself for being such a retard now... good bye guys...

>it was Sonic 06' that actually made Sonic a complete joke
I'd say it was a combination of both, since they released so close to each other. But with Shadow I specifically remember certain fan sites just completely disregarding its existence before release. It was like how a lot of fans treat the Sonic movie now.

I'll admit, I was still pretty young when Shadow came out, so you're probably right.

>ranking emo above ironic
>thinking dogshit like shadow and 06 is better than colors, generations, and mania
Zoom
