If the player is not on the GD route or has recruited her already she won't appear at all in the timeskip, she'll have commited suicide. She is the only character who never appears on any route as a enemy unit, she kills herself on all four routes without you.

In that case she will not appear for a different reason. When a character dies pre time skip they will simply retreat from battle however during the ending the game will tell you that the character died during the five years and wasn't able to make the meeting. For example I know it'll say Lorenz died of an illness and couldn't join you for that reason.
