I'd think with its initial release being on the PSP at the time that it wouldn't have picked up that kind of attention from folks not already fgamiliar with the series. The few folks I know personally that have played the series to any extent by and large don't even know about Peace Walker, or at least have never played it. MGSV, however, is certainly babby's first Metal Gear in a lot of cases and gets actual praise by austist turbovirgins who never touched the series and have no fucking clue that they're getting fucked out of what should have been a coherant and compelling story.

Back on topic. World building. Much like pokemon an established world is always a fun playground to build up from. its a stepping stone. An arewa like Green hill is so simple to just incorporate whatever the fuck you want into it. Character has a secret lab in the hills? Whos going to contest it. its a fucking hill with loop de loops and robot bugs. The character aspect is so mind nbumbingly simple that anyone can just jump into it. And thats why it became a huge trend in 2008. everyone was doing it, everyone could do it, and it was considered the norm. Granted,. then you had people take it to the ERP levels of degeneracy, and eghh.

Personally at the time, I was fascinated by people's creativity with OCs. I'm not talking Red the hedgehog, or Thrails the three tailed fox,. I'm talking non existant animals and concepts. People who came up with dolphins, fish, aliens, Aneomones, Jellyfish, moles, Other interesting animals that could actually pass for real sonic characters. It was always cool to see what other people would come up with.

I have many that I could listen but for me the one that takes the title is Undertale. Sonic fanbase at least is actually tolerable here, same with certain games with shit fanbases (except for smash). Ut on other hand there's no single place that you can take it.
