Why did they talk about breaking up the meta only to turn around and buff DRG, a job which has been meta since its inception, into one of three strongest jobs in the game?
Why do they think it's okay for the total contribution of non-blm ranged and caster jobs to be 1500-2000 rDPS lower than blm and melee jobs, effectively ensuring that you are actively holding the party back by playing any of them instead of one of the blm or melee?

Objectively, an average BLM meets or exceeds the total damage contribution of a RDM or BRD in the top 10th percentile. Even when you remove padding from the BLM and include additional damage for the rdm/brd based on raid buff contribution, a barely average BLM is right there or better.

Most of it was busy work, farming up resources for umbrite and crystal sand, or doing the long list of dungeons. Light was pretty easily farmed as well, and with so many people doing it, you got to find out where light bonus was.

As you can see, a 50th percentile BLM is right there with a 95th percentile rdm and brd and it doesn't take much to find a blm that beats someone in the top 10. The only thing about Susano's fight that was really good was the action time maneuver where the tank would block his big ass sword from crashing down on the platform and everyone else had to hit the sword to stop it. I thought that was the hypest shit ever, but unfortunately, that was really the only notable thing about that right as a whole. If your group needs an extra revive then they need to learn the mechanics. Because if that's anybody's reason why they should be a part of a group, then that group needs to force every member to take an IQ test and a round of Simon Says. The reason why RDM should join a group is because of the raid damage buff. For 20 seconds, you are on average increasing DPS by 6%. That's massive, because you don't even need to coordinate with your group, as the SMN or MNK will just go through their rotations multiple times in that span.

There's a lot of variables here. It's not just a matter of raw percentages. There is personal gear to account for. If you're i470 today and you do 50 it's not a mediocre parse, it's a trash one. Speaking of PVP, Yoshi deemed it necessary to relegate all PVP actions to the same 1-3 buttons. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened outside of PVP in the near future.
The only thing XIV has going for it is polish. Even the story is a fucking joke with predictable plot developments and lack of any fleshing of characters aside from necessity due to expansion publicity because they sell outfits and promotional posters.
The crafting is pretty neat. The music is fine. A lot of very muddy, soulless "Jpop" renditions of older themes.
You mentioned boss encounters. XIV has bosses at the end of dungeons that all do the same 5 mechanics. Raids are a singular room with a boss sitting in the middle since fucking sigma

Its unironically 100% the playerbases's fault, and i usually don't say this. They should stop trying to "balance" the jobs because it literally doesn't fucking matter. Any content is clearable with any standard compostion, and so long as one job deals 0.0000001% more damage than another bad players who are also autsitic will enforce bizarre metas in a PvE game because they think its the job comp that is stopping them from clearing savage, while the truth is that they just suck. People are fucking stupid, just focus on making the jobs fun.

I've tried ESO 4 times since friends want to play it, but it just cant stand it, the combat is the most boring combat i've seen, the skills feel weightless and there are a lot more things that i dislike, however its cool if people enjoy ESO, i prefer XIV and i really like how they handle things, even if its predictable, all games have pros and cons, if you like one more than the other one... well good for you i guess.

2 questions as a newer player:
Is it worth leveling a chocobo companion for fighting etc.(Also can the various other cosmetic mounts be uses a combat companions as well?)
Is it worth while to use your retainer for venture missions and gear them up etc? I fucking hated garrison missions shit in WoW and it seems very similar... I really hope this isn't a required mechanic for min/maxing one's character.

i hope you realize that everyone smart gears the dps first, which means dps parses are top heavy as fuck. the best you can get in crafted gear as of now is green if you play out of your mind, with the exception of BLM being a skill intensive class

1. Chocobos in combat are meh, nice to have if you're doing fates or something but that's it, just let it level passively and knock out the challenge log entries for it but don't bother grinding its level or you'll go crazy, it's the only mount that can assist in combat 2.yes do it you fuck, it's just equipping them with your old gear and sending them out with a menu choice, ventures take less than a minute of management

I don't give a fuck that you want your dragon dildo-shaped arenas, the actual mechanics of a boss fight are what matters. The Oath in Felghana has only a couple of boss fights that have a unique arena gimmick and that game has some of the best boss fights in existence. Having a shitty arena gimmick doesn't add much to the fight unless the boss design itself is actually good (see Titan or Leviathan).
