I thought Fairy Tail was ok up until the timeskip. It wasn't amazing, but it was still fairly readable by shounen standards. Had some nice character designs (even outside of big titties) and cool powers/fights, and there was a decent amount of world building. The whole magic guild setting is perfect for an RPG so I'm glad they didn't do a musou or arena fighter. I think this could turn out to be decent depending on how much of the story they cover or if they go for an original plot.

they need to stay as far away from the FT guild as much as they can for this game to be successful. Hell, even staying on FT but away from team Natsu would be great

It's pretty much an epilogue to the main story with the gang going on one final big quest. It's a direct continuation of the story but something Mashima works on on the side while doing Eden Zero.

The asshole is too concerned with power levels. I've been watching Luffy and crew get their shit pushed in and BSing their way to a technical victory or worse since fucking Sabaody. One Piece use to be fun because the heroes were allowed to be big damn heroes and let us go fuck yeah! and shit, now it's all serious power tiers and crap.

I'm actually optimistic. Fairy Tail did shit the bed later, but the setting is nice and it has everything it needs to lend itself well to a good RPG. At worse it could be a mediocre RPG with a flashy battle system and hopefully big world to explore with a lot of quests. If they do something different with the plot and don't just do a 1-1 adaption of the manga it could be a lot better.

Igneel and the other Dragons, Zeref, The Spriggan 12, Acnologia, the top 4 Wizard Saints, the Celestial Spirits, Fairy Heart, everything that was being built up was just one disappointment after another. The series was best when it was just guild missions.

Only something happened, Demon Lord got old and adopted a kid and lived on some junk robot planet till he died. Now the kid, Shiki, is the MC for the series and he's the new Demon Lord, trying to fulfill his adopted father's dream using his old ship and the Starshines.
Unfortunately, the black one there is already dead, so guess he's gotta settle for her autistic adopted daughter/apprentice.

Basically, it's kinda like Fairy Tail designs and concepts stuck onto Treasure Planet with some other space opera vibes. It's actually been pretty fun so far. Still has the annoying friendship stuff, but now it also has themes about what it means to "have a soul" since there's all this stuff about androids and humans living together.

im watching the anime and i'm at the first post-timeskip saga(tournament) and while i quite like it for its flashiness,colorful characters and SOME interesting schools of magic(zodiac evocation,for instance) I have to say that for a battle shonen FT commits a cardinal sin: every fight is won by the mage that "shouts" and "rages" more.
they explain why in an early episode and it's always true: fights are pretty,but not intresting at all if i know that all it takes to win is to yell more than your enemy.
At least they're being honest. They had some interesting ideas,like an arc where they went into a manaless parallel world,so albeit slowing the action a lot,was a refreshing change of pace:think of it like a cheap survival saga(Namecc for instance).
So i think that if you manage to ignore the fact that every fucking fight is scripted,i think that fairy tail can be an enjoyable read/watch.

Fantasy lives and dies on the setting, and FT's setting is little more than a shallow excuse for the resident brand of super powered martial artists to fight. It was at its best in the early arcs, and that was only because it appeared to have potential that Mashima never planned to meet. It's a shame, because it does shine at character antics.
