just downloaded the demo, excited to see if it's actually improved from the first demo

It’s actually good now

...

REMINDER TO TELL EVERYONE YOU CAN HIT UP AND DOWN ON THE D PAD TO ACTIVATE DIFFERENT FEMTO MODES
WING MODE MAKES YOUR BOOST GO FAST AS FUCK WHILE YOU HAVE HUGE WINGS

Attached: 1536499281276.gif (550x400, 127K)

Is this the Armored Core sequel I’ve been waiting years for? The webms look pretty dope.

adding to that, set motion controls and BGM to 10

Attached: 1564284980475.webm (960x720, 736K)

Nope

Not quite but close enough. They used the same person that designed the mechs for the AC games.

Reminder to enable gyro and customize your controls. I put boost on left click, jump on right click and descend on B, that way I can hold down all four weapon triggers while still boosting.

For on-foot I just put boost on left trigger.

so the new out of bounds mechanics.
when you leave the yellow sphere you get a countdown before mission failed.
but outside the yellow sphere there is a red sphere and if you touch the walls you instantly die.
also if you fly too high you suddenly lose all control and just slowly decend straight down.

why not only have the yellow sphere countdown? isnt that enough incentive to keep the player in the mission area?

Attached: daemon.jpg (2560x1440, 878K)

How's the framerate?

post more webm the looks good, i really hope it sells

Attached: 1542091004259.jpg (241x657, 48K)

How the fuck do I just hover where I want to be?
Hitting B makes me just keep going up while hitting L stick makes me drop. No inbetween.
WHY

Attached: 1470455812763.png (656x949, 23K)

>pvp god incoming
oh wow

People going fast enough could probably reach the boundaries of the map and fall through the world, or see shit through the map they shouldn’t see yet.

Attached: two.webm (800x450, 2.8M)

What the fuck is femto even?

evil moon energy

Does it run better now?
The earlier beta had really bad performance.

I cant stand the stick click for button things so Im super satisfied with the default controls. But didnt know I had to enable gyro.

Do we know what decals are hidden on every level yet?

What do the other Femto modes do? I'm assuming the arm one raises damage output.

What's up with those visuals? Does the game have chromatic aberation?

There are still some dips in frames here and there, but nowhere near as much as the first beta.

Downloaded the demo and didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do. Seems like there's one more game for me to buy this month. How long is it anyway? I've just unlocked free missions.

its better.
they did a whole trailer after the beta adressing peoples complaints and what they had changed in response

I just want a 12 decal if there is one. I got 10 and 11 then it just fuckin skipped to 20.

Pretty sure arms is damage boost and circle around you is defense boost
God I hope /m/ doesn't let me down and ignores this game just because astral chain just came out too

Attached: 1543193367385.jpg (829x960, 220K)

femoid excrement

Dammit if only ACV had this kind of movement

link?

If it makes you feel any better I preordered DxM after picking up Astral Chain. There's enough room in my heart for both.

Gyro enable is odd for me because I usually play 3rd person games with inverted look, and I guess gyro is also inverted because of that?

youtube.com/watch?v=8qmwvKTwm10

They've said the main campaign is 20 to 30 hours in press releases, so take that as you will
I really hope there's PvP down the line, even if it's just 1v1, 2v2 and 4p FFA

Liked the demo but I'm not sure it sold me on the game. Felt a little bit too "lightweight" or bare in my opinion. It feels like half the moves you do are unnecessary.
I'm waiting for some reviews or reports from user of the full game to see how it opens up.

Some gripes though:
>prologue was completely incoherently written with everyone just popping out of nowhere
>as often with games that feature character creators all NPCs look like they were created with that, instead of feeling unique
>I just wanna break stuff!!!
>I wish everybody would die
>Kill you later ...
>quality anime dialogue and characters
>some button presses won't register. like sometimes you have to press b two-three times before it would register, even though you do nothing that would block the move
>autotargeting instead of manual to enable fast gameplay
>mission areas are tiny arenas
From the demo it feels like they focused too much on fast instead of substance. I'm no "real robot" fag but it felt a bit off in the demo. Like controlling felt too arcade and the whole mission was over before it even began.

Also, in the hangar the original head you had, already had 5% completion on heads. Meaning that there are 20 mech models to play in general + some extra parts here and there?

Damn shame the game is going to flop regardless of how much more optimize it is now.

How the FUCK are you supposed to survive the train mech battle, there are so many enemies and missiles I can barely dodge them.

Have you tried customizing the controls so that you can use the left joycon in your right hand and vice versa?
My logic is Invert the gyro, invert the grips.

I was asking about the demo.

That could be an option- I'm using a pro controller for the most part though, and I don't think that'd work out... unless I wanted to hold it upside down, I guess?

>kill you later

Attached: 1564316753264.gif (500x281, 1M)

That was the point when I switched back to japanese

Is there porn of the kill you later girl yet

Griffith

It's fucking good
fuck me, too much shit this month

Nice

I failed it without dying. Not sure what I did wrong.

the train left the arena before you could kill it

you need to stop the train by doing enough damage to its "head". What comes after is just bullshit tho, I keep on dying to the swarm of enemies

Is there a good way to stay at a fixed height instead of bobbing up and down with boost and descend?

All i know about this game is that it looks like simple mecha fun.

Are there weapons that allow me to shoot hundreds of missiles?
If so, Count me sold.

demo has a multi lock on missle launcher but it only has 8 missles max.
maybe there is a late game version of with with more.

is there graffiti anywhere in the mission where you first meet the Gothic lolita chicks?
fucking hell, why can't we just replay the story missions so we can go back if we missed anything?

weird, it had definitely stopped moving.

I'm really excited about this game!

"Mech Noises"

The front of the train breaks off from the rest and keeps going

How does it compare to 4FA

Downloaded the new demo yesterday but won't be able to play until this evening. Is it better?

There's a spade in level 1 that you can also get in the free mission

There's a colorful decal in level 3 which I couldn't scan on the side of a ship or building or something

Couldn't find any others

If it's going for the same style as Armored Core, which some of the team behind AC is in DxM, there were a couple back weapons that locked on with 4 missiles, and the 4 missiles then spread into like 25 each. I think the biggest lock on for a back weapon was 12 missiles though, since if the enemy went outside your reticle you would lose all your lock ons.

makes me wish that we would see a armored core game

Ah, thanks.

Is missile ammo limited? I couldn't see anything on the HUD

100% better

Yeah

You aren't saying that just to cope with never getting another armored core, are you? i want it to be good and I'm pumped to try the demo

Not at alll, but its true in a way. Its this game or no mech games period

Where is the train mission ? I didn't see it

In the co-op missions, the second one

thanks

thank god both code vein and dxm relesed demos. veins gameplay is straight terrible so I'm pirating that and buying dxm

>want to be excited
>anime shit not even 5 seconds in

That's a damn pity. "HAHA DUDE KILL YOU LATER XD". I'm so sick of ironic meme humor being shoved into everything. Here's hoping my playthrough will still be fun despite being on mute the whole time.

Oh good...ACfag showed up...

I've been stoked for this shit since its announcement. By far the game I've been looking forward to the most all year. There's no POSSIBLE way this game is bad. And the demo? Fucking godlike. Fuck Armored Core; this shit right here is all I need.

>*honk honk* I'm a clown *honk*

Attached: 1567662604485.jpg (447x470, 102K)

Uh oh, did I commit wrongthink? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin the hugbox with criticism.

Ok ACfag is here. For anyone that doesn't know he's a fraud shitposter that thinks a game having dialogue makes it a bad game.
Also after literal hours of pushing we finally got him to show us him playing AC on the >PSP version, and surprise, he's complete shit

Apology excepted my little doggy

So is the free mission where you kill 30 enemies with a shitload of destroyable platforms/buildings the best way to farm parts/weapons in the demo? since it’s really quick+2 ai arsenals

>claim that I've never played the games
>provide proof
>move the goalposts and say that it doesn't count

No one says it didn't count, but you're complete shit

>game has inoffensive, skippable cutscenes for people looking for a fun story to not take seriously
>"sigh, guess I'll have to play on mute because this game committed the cardinal sin of being a game"
Why are you sucking in precious oxygen that starving children in Africa could really use right now?

>mech fags get in here
All mechfags?

Attached: Bush.jpg (1100x850, 165K)

No switch so haven't played the demo, but apparently there's loot box shit? Can anyone elaborate?
I was hoping it'd be an AC situation where you get credits and then customise your mech

>no one says it didn't count
And yet here you are, trying to discredit it with ad hominem. I don't care if you think I'm shit, I proved you wrong by showing that I've played the games, and I went through an hour of trying to finagle with ffmpeg to give you proof. And for my hard work I get shat on. Such disrespect.

>game has inoffensive, skippable cutscenes for people looking for a fun story to not take seriously
You mean garbage cluttering the game and objectively making it worse? Gee, i wonder why a rational person would hate such a thing? You have a thousand anime games if you want ironic cringeworthy meme humor. You can play xenoblade, you can play senran kagura, you can play wonderful 101, you can even play astral chain. Why does that garbage have to be shoved into every single game?

Reminder to ignore ACfag

>apparently there's loot box shit?
No, you salvage weapons and parts from fallen Arsenals. You can also buy stuff in a shop.

From what I've heard it's not lootboxes, it's that people don't understand a certain mechanic since it defaults to random or something? But you can pick certain parts off of a downed enemy, but if you don't choose it picks one part randomly or something.

God I hope DXM is good. Mech games have been having bad luck these past few years.

Attached: 1567606202302.jpg (1200x1805, 884K)

I think you can but they're under Free Missions when you beat them the first time

Is there no way to replay missions? I want to go back and grab a decal I think I missed, but it won't let me redo cleared missions.

>You mean garbage cluttering the game and objectively making it worse
You means subjectively? Because, you know, there are people out there that actually like that stuff.

>garbage cluttering the game
Oh, wait, I am so sorry. I apologize. What I meant to say was... inoffensive, skippable cutscenes for people looking for a fun story to not take seriously.

Seriously, why do you eat and drink and prolong your suffering that is living?

It doesn't seem cluttered to me, infact I find it charming. Now what

Youre objectively an insufferable person who cant articulate an ounce of an argument without spouting buzzwords because of youre autistic inability to fathom why people like features.

>You means subjectively? Because, you know, there are people out there that actually like that stuff.
People also like stuttering and frame rate drops because it's "more cinematic". That doesn't justify it or even make it redeemable.

If a game is so good, why do you want so many segments spent NOT playing it? Wouldn't you want to play it more? Saying that you "need a break" just means that the game has failed to keep your interest and gets boring if you play it too long. Saying that game "needs context" just means that the game failed to pique your interest with the gameplay mechanics alone.

It's pretty amusing he hates dialogue and cutscenes so much but makes paragraphs of psots

>excepted

Aren't you a little TOO good for this thread?

so, is it good ?

How's the framerate now? Looking to pick this up after Astral Chain.

I hate to say this, I really do, but people like certain features for the wrong reasons. They're not making the game better, they're just dragging down the medium. Imagine if I started playing a game like Super Mario and said to myself "yeah I guess this game's okay, but there's too much videogamey shit. I need lore and context and character drama to really get me hooked". Like yikes, how do you justify that.

I like all mecha discussion. Even ACfag can't stop me loving mechs.

Attached: TheWackerOfBushes.jpg (450x450, 66K)

Again, it's still a matter of subjectivity, is it not? Because people have things called "opinions". Sure you have your own opinion, but if there's a large number of people with a similar opinion, wouldn't one try to appeal to that large group's opinion?

>but if there's a large number of people with a similar opinion, wouldn't one try to appeal to that large group's opinion?
And that's how games started implementing gacha and lootboxes en masse, because "a large number of people liked it." At the risk of sounding like a contrarian, the masses are normalfag sheeple who don't know good quality.

>Switch Exclusive
Another day goes by as I sleep while dreaming of a good pc mech game.

Attached: sleep.jpg (5146x2895, 2.45M)

***IGNORE AC FAG***
I repeat, for your the good of you mental health-
***IGNORE AC FAG***
This tremendous dick-slobbering pea-brain will argue over basic game design until your corpse is picked clean by crows.

I love both Battletech and Front Mission.

Yeah, but now people are starting to put regulations on that since there's a growing opinion on it being unhealthy and exploitative. Even Japan's starting to look at how they can take a stance against things like pachinko. Also take into consideration the creators themselves. They want to make things that they make, so perhaps they as well are "normalfags".

>Front Mission style Battletech game never ever.
fuk

Steel Battalion reboot when?

How long is the demo anyways?

Right after Heavy Gear 3 and a Good Front Mission game (never).

Nani the fuck? Explain

I have every right to call them out for normalfag behavior and bad game design, much like how you have the freedom to buy the game regardless. My criticisms aren't exactly preventing anyone from playing the game. As a big mech fan who has indulged in countless mecha games, I feel a desire to point out things in DxM that I don't like, and things I would like to improve. I feel like I'm entitled to this since I'm gonna buy it anyway. I need my mecha fix, and indie games can only provide me so much, and From sure as hell isn't going to hook me up. I'm just disappointed that pure gritty robot games are all dead and buried, and everything needs a layer of comedic irony so the kids don't get scared, like this was fortnite or something.

For example, when DxM fullly releases, I want to see how they handle characters. In Armored Core every single person was expendable. Mercs would drop dead left and right and you'd pretty much be the last person alive. Even star runners like Jack-O, Zinaida and Evangel were basically just pawns on the chopping block. With anime inspired games, nobody can die because the power of love and friendship conquers all! hurr durr. and having that filth in a mech game is unforgivable.

after Deadly Premonition 2, I'm not sure about 'never evers' anymore

I feel like there is too much dialogue for a game you're also intended to replay missions multiple times.
Also I have no idea what any of the Femto forms are. The wing one seems to grant higher boost and doesn't drain stamina, but how or why does it run out?

you can summon a double (drains your femto though)

Anything made will never please everyone, so its a lost cause trying to win someone who hates a game because of it.

I guess anything can happen but it's slim. slimmer then a line

Yknow, after seeing people salivating over FM3 for the longest time, and saying FM4 was a step back, I actually preferred 4 to 3 by a fair amount. And I prefer Gun Hazard over both of them. And I prefer most strategy games over any FM. FM was really never good to begin with, and Evolved and Left Alive didn't kill the series, so much as prove that the series was never destined for success.

I've been skipping out on DxM discussion for a while since the performance was so crusty in the last demo. Glad to see it fixed. Wtf is the ACfag whining about?

>Wtf is the ACfag whining about?
MUUUUH ANIME (completely ignoring the genres origin.)

>vs Red Dog and Klondike in the last mission
>try and murder Klondike since i shot down his brother the first time through
>get his health down
>BROTHER HELP ME!!! from red dog again as if he was the one that got fucked.
>Couldn't even kill Klondike, he just fucks off and you can't even drop his health down to 0 even though the health bar is completely black

fucking lame.

Shut up nerd.

At the least maybe you could understand why some people wouldn't like the game, instead of being so close minded.

>genre's origin
Irrelevant since mech games have constantly come out that didn't need these generic anime cliches every 5 seconds.

Too much mission chatter that goes too slowly. I'm already most of the way through tearing things up while my squadmates are still yammering on, only to get cut off because I finished the mission while they got stuck in a wall.

Like six story missions, 2 optionals, and 2 multiplayer ones? You can blaze through pretty quick other than the multiplayer boss ones.

Is there online co-cop or is it pvp?

Yeah i can see that but how?

The story for AC was pure kino but that's expected from Fromsoft. This is a different dev team with some from AC so idk why he's bitching. My biggest complaint was how much free ammo there is in DxM. Did they tone it down or is it still the same?

it just does
like all mecha of different shapes and sizes

is turning the bgm to 10 just a meme or actually something I should do

I tried the demo.
I didn't really find it fun at all to be honest.
Is Armored Core like this? I've been looking to get into the series for a while now, but I've never played mech games before. If Armored Core is about the same as DxM then I don't think I'm going to bother, or is DxM below the quality of gameplay in the Armored Core series?

>The story for AC was pure kino but that's expected from Fromsoft.
The only real "kino" thing about it was how short it was. Once the games began to drink the cinematic koolaid, we got games like Armored Core 4 Answer and Armored Core Verdict Day, aka let's focus our attention on graphics and story and forget to program proper netcode and framerates.

AC is nothing like DxM, AC is slow and grounded

Attached: 1567520047016.jpg (995x803, 116K)

There's online co-op, and they said they'll add pvp later.

AC is slow and grounded unless you're playing 4/fA. DxM seems to take more from that era of AC than anything.

That sounds like it might be more fun for me. I didn't really like how the flying around felt like in DxM demo.

Source? I need this to convince my friends.

You have like 1 story mission left after unlocking free missions, but you can do the free missions several times and give coop a go with the ai buddy. I only got it to 50% before running out of ammo/hp though.

Armored Core was never good, in all honesty. Slow and plodding pacing in nearly every single one, drab graphics, and online play that died on day one. Really nothing that DXM doesn't do better. There's a reason why, when Demon's Souls became a hit, FromSoft stopped making them. With the exception of Chromehounds, which was an anomally, they'd been phoning it in for years.

Sounds fun. Is there existing multiplayer for previous AC games?

Is no one going to answer ANYone in the thread asking about frame rate? Oh wait you're all nintentards and can't tell the difference between 30 and 60. Kill yourselves.

Except DXM repeats all of those problems. The graphics are oversaturated glowy garbage, the online play is shallow, and the pacing is abysmal. It emulates the boost shit from ACFA, and that's not a good thing.

The frame rate runs at a shoddy 25 FPS. The devs claimed to fix it, but I'm not seeing it. I see alot of slowdown during scenes with alot of explosions or gunfire.

It's not like the past AC games ran silky smooth. I'm fine with 30 though it would be nice to have 60 docked

For hell sake, I cant afford Switch but love mecha games. Why they couldn't release it on PC?

Can you imagine actually being 476881978? What a painful existence
Or more likely, he got filtered by the Raven test

If you're desperate you can wait for Yuzu.

It's ok PC brother. I'm still waiting to play AC4 and AC5.

can i get a quick rundown on how much they fixed from the original demo?

youtube.com/watch?v=8qmwvKTwm10

can anyone recommend a good control layout?

For AC or DXM?

Damn, this game is looking fast

Attached: viper.jpg (210x240, 19K)

Mmm, silky smooth 18 fps.

dxm

I would keep weapons and boost on the shoulder buttons with everything else on the face buttons

Gyro on at max
Left gun left trigger
Right gun right trigger
Left shoulder left bumper
Right shoulder right bumper
Boost left click
Jump right click
(Switch shoulders with boost/ jump to preference, but this game heavily rewards holding down both main automatic weapons)
Descend on B
Reload/ interact on A
Weapon switch options on Dpad
Exit on X

This, but no gyro. I can't stand gyro. If that's your jam, it's "objectively" better since it's closer to mouse aiming than using a joystick, so you get fine-tuned targetting, but you don't really need it, and I can't tolerate motion controls to begin with. But the button layout is perfect.

I feel ya man.I hate gyro so much that I actually played and beat Splatoon using twin sticks.

I tried so hard to make gyro work for Splatoon 2, but I just wound up jerking my wrists and flubbing my aim. It was awful. I can manage just fine with stick aiming in ranked mode and salmon run, and I'm not planning on entering a fuckin splatoon invitational, so I will never use gyro again.

>dance emote is just that white person with no groove

Attached: 1499992180251.gif (397x223, 1006K)

one day, user, one day

I just realised with Astral Chains release, there's yet another game to be added to the pile of games that can be abbreviated to AC

>the online play is shallow
wat

You can't even play online yet

I just don't know. Something about DxM just isn't clicking with me. I feel bored playing it.

I wish I knew why. I loved Armored Core, played all the PS2 ones, though I sort of hated Nexus.

Attached: 1545601968390.png (1061x1061, 626K)

A bunch of cool options are still walled off.

Did you try the coop bosses?

Webm this one too
mobile.twitter.com/Jiikae/status/1169702395757989888

No, I got to the point that free missions unlocked and wanted to go back to Astral Chain.

I think I'll try more of the demo after I'm thoroughly finished with Astral Chain, because it's all I can think about right now.

Does it get better, user? Getting rid of the crappy starting rifle with that machine gun helped a lot, but I'm not sure I like the loot mechanics, or does a shop open up eventually where you can buy parts?

How is the frame rate? I played the first demo and it was a massive turn-off. I might give it a chance if they managed to fix this shit

One of the treehouse events from E3, I don't remember which.

You should have unlocked the part shop actually. Or maybe you have to do the last story mission. You'll also unlock a place you can upgrade mech parts, although I couldn't actually use it because I didn't have enough stuff.

Better than the first demo, and generally pretty stable.

nintendolife.com/news/2019/06/competitive_multiplayer_will_come_to_daemon_x_machina_post-launch

It's improved dramatically but you still should check yourself
It does have a shop and eventually factory to make new parts and items and add mods
Sadly since the demo is literally just the very start of the actual game (that's why it has save to main game transfer) it's obviously missing a lot of mechanics and things that will be in the full game so even though you get the shop and factory it hardly has anything in either

Attached: 1560304438832.png (742x1115, 440K)

How the fuck do sword clashes work? I mash A and still lose?

Jesus, I've never seen a game improve so much between versions. They fixed literally every complaint I had.

Stick plebs, enjoy your disadvantage

>Finish mission too fast to hear all the dialogue
>Can't repeat
AAAAAA

>It emulates the boost shit from ACFA, and that's not a good thing.

Yea all mech games should play exactly the same with no variation, and people wonder why this genre is ded.

You can't replay missions?

How are the motion controls? Do they give you a huge advantage like Splatoon?

Damn you can go fast now
Back in the first demo I felt the Arsenal moved a bit too slow

How's the dismounted gameplay?

Circle is a barrier as far as I can tell.
Can completely stop small damage and
absorbs a part of bigger damage

Got as far as you could in this demo, seems to improve on some areas from the old demo but still has some pretty nasty drops still to the big fuck robots.

But I'm used to this framepace jank from the old ass Dark Souls on the PS3 so I can get over it for Mech action.

The game implies there's more outfits for your pilot but not in the demo.

Attached: Tired old Lady.jpg (1280x720, 166K)

It is, 120 missiles, I think. You can always pick up ammo drops from dead enemies though.

Yes

I never found out because nothing in the demo was hard enough to kill my mech

I better try the coop bosses

any way to turn off or make those giant red cubes less intrusive

pretty sure it does, and it's just cell shaded

>Enable gyro
...how?

Probably, there's quite a few customization options

Increase gyro sensitivity above 0 in options

How much better is it compared to the first demo? I enjoyed Demo 1 a lot but the frame rate and slow weapon attacks that lacked power kinda turned me off.

A lot

Improved or fixed literally everything

You guys think this will be worth 60 ?

I like it but not sure.

I legit can't get used to the controls. My main issue is just with boost and firing, I tried putting boost on one of the sticks and it still feels awkward. Do I just need to play more and get used to it? I keep switching from boost being on a stick or bumper.

Frame rate is significantly improved and stable.

You have to really mess with controls and figure out what suits you till you get used to it. A lot of people have posted their personal preferred control schemes/choices so it's not just you trying to adjust.

The HUD is super customizable, so there might be.

Up and down on the d-pad also cycle through femto settings for different effects. On booster is speed+"infinite" stamina, on hands is damage output, and I'm pretty sure the one that's a ring around you is defense.

Try switching boost to ZR or ZL. It's easier to hold down those buttons than it is other ones.

Do you think they'll let us go back to story missions in the full version? I wish I had looted something else from that crazy guy's mech corpse.

this looks like a shitty AC4/A by the Gods Eater people

sad times for mechs

>Switch
But why

Because apparently Nintendo is the only one that likes video games any more.
