On PC I play Bow because the really good aim controls. On console I use a hammer and I absolutely love it, but I hate the fucking weapon models.
How is charge blade? is it worth getting into, or should I just stick with hammer? I love weapons with a sense of impact.

Tribalism is a pretty common human practice. You can apply it just about anything. Console Wars, Football teams, etc. It really should be no surprise to you that it happens for weapon types in MH. But I would say everyone should at least have 2 "Main" weapons they alternate between.

Charge blade is great. It's kind of slow in world, but feels good when you land a perfect saed or guard point. It seems that it's going to be even stronger in iceborne because of the guardian skill, level 5 artillery and the new charged axe move that I can never remember the name of. Can't wait to try it out myself with the new decos and weapons.

Play Longsword. Spirit combo, foresight slash, helm breaker, Iai attacks, it all feels great.
I also like IG a lot. It's not usually thought as that kind of weapon, but with the tornado slash, the aerial claw and the high damage new plunging attack the weapon feels better than ever.
