The benefits of using LZMA2 are obvious -- much smaller archive sizes compared to gzip (zlib) and bzip2. The downside is extraction speed. It's not well-suited to on-demand access because it's too slow, so it's only really suitable for installers and distributions. Even then you'll find people complaining that "the installer takes too long" or "it uses too much CPU." You couldn't possibly get away with using it for a game's data files.

Hoodlum has been on the scenes for a long time, they're not new, they've just been silent for many years after they were taken down in an FBI operation in 2005.
That said, their cracks are fine.
Their installer however can be messy.
Mind that this is not valid for all of their release, but it can happen that their installer writes a longer than 64 characters name in the registry, and this makes the game NOT appear in the list of installed programs in windows(in installed applications).
This is usually not a problem cause the included uninstal.exe and uninstal.dat have all the needed info, but for some unknown reason, their installer doesnt always include an uninstaller(it's unknown if its actually not included or if it is always included but doesnt always get unpacked due to a bug in the installer), which makes the game "uninstallable" via normal means.
In such cases, you have to manually edit the registry to make the name shorter than 64 characters, so that it will appear in installed applications and windows will be able to remove it even without its dedicated uninstaller.
Or you can manually delete the folder, leaving the registry as it is, but leaving registry entries that do NOT have a real path anymore is not recommended as it can lead to errors in the system.

If you still have Control installed and you did NOT use fitgirl repack for it, you can check yourself if there is an uninstaller or not in the installation folder.
