Adventure time was fucking amazing I would hardly call SU better. They're both solid series but I felt myself getting more into the universe and feeling more attached to finn, jake, and everyone else a lot more than steven and friends.

First season was good, rest are inconsistent. Its biggest problem is that it showed a lot of promise in the beginning but failed to live up to that in the later seasons. I think it’s still worth getting into if you liked AT though.

AT is the fucking definition of wasted potential. It had a very interesting world and nice D&D rules gimmick that needed to be fleshed out, but instead of building the world, they wasted on their time on the lore behind the characters which were nowhere as interesting as the world.

I think when Mark Laidlaw left Valve and essentially blogged the ending in a few paragraphs I fully realized that Valve had basically forgot about Half-Life completely.

So many major devs have left Valve in the past few years, the masterminds behind all their best games, that even if they do make HL3 it'll be like an episode of zombie simpsons with barely any connection to the creative spark that birthed Half-Life in the first place.

A small part of me still holds hope, my conspiracy theory is that Boneworks VR is actually a super secret testbed for HL3.

I completely disagree. I thought the first season of SU was by far the worst. It was mostly just bullshit of Steven running around Beach City. The second half picks up when Lapis is introduced, and then there's Peridot later and Jasper at the end. Once the stakes get raised, and Steven stops being such a whiny shit (or at least less of a whiny shit) the show greatly improves.

I would be all over SU if it has a better art style the backgrounds look nice and it has very very nice dreamy colors that remind me a little of Sailor Moon's color scheme.
The style is just fucking so trash i could even forgive trash writing if it looked pretty.

I assumed it was an extra feature built into her specifically so she could protect Pink if some sort of unexpected attack on them happened.

The pilot was neat, the show is disappointing.

I gave up after the “Steven becomes an asshole again for no reason” arc with Connie, in season 5 or w/e it was. The dialogue was so prosaic and horrible, actually worse than prosaic it was just cringey how blatant and unrestrained it was, the worst lines are all from that part of the show. And I could tell they were heading for a rushed conclusion like Homestuck out of fear of being cancelled probably. I eventually watched the last episodes and it was dumb how it got resolved so quickly and anticlimactically (considering the conflict was set up for millennia), and how it undermined the characterization of a bunch of people like the Diamonds and Bismuth. Also we never got Lapidot fusion.

In the end the show was at its best when it was exploring relationships and worldbuilding, promising us things that other cartoons wouldn’t touch, but that all came to a screeching halt in favor of sudden revelations and the happy ending. I’m glad Spinel dunked on those nerds
