Monado gives Shulk a moveset that is very unique.
Aeron has access to the old bitch's chain which is used in awesome ways but it's less of an interesting moveset and some of its best abilities (chain enemies together, whip enemies in circles) would never work in Smash.
The light of the outsider fits Zael's personality and his desire to become a knight, but "aggro your enemies, boost your allies casting speed and revive dead allies" literally does not work in Smash in anyway whatsoever. It's a team based game, zael can't just be plucked off by himself.
Zael+Calista as hot anime ice climbers would probably work well, position Calista around to cast magic and you can use gathering to boost her speed or range/make her casting non interruptable but take twice as much damage while you're doing it, magnetize projectiles toward you, etc
