First, stop being a retard, DeS, DaS1, and DaS2 play extremely similarly, to the point that the differences barely matter. Second, it's like a Chinese knock-off of Dark Souls. It handles like ass and they put no effort whatsoever in making each gameplay element relevant or engaging. It's a cute game and I might still wind up buying it, but I would recommend others to just wait for Code: Vein 2.

There will be a lot more fun enemies and abilities later on. Go into the challenge dungeon and get the other blood codes.

The teleport works as a telegraph only after you know what comes next, since the following attack is immediate. Although, Souls games have plenty of "gotcha" attacks that require memorization to react to, so this sort of thing is part for the course. I prefer attacks that can be intuitively reacted to.

What's the deal with the Queen's Knight? Are you supposed to parry him? If he starts up that circular sweep while you're recovering from an attack, you're whacked. He can nearly two-shot me. Am I supposed to be higher level?

You can dodge everything he does if you're paying attention, but the spin still gets me. Rolling through it doesn't work because you'll eat the last hit regardless, and it covers too much distance to roll away if you're close enough for him to do it in the first place. I end up having to guard it and just accept the chip damage.

How do you dodge the pillars of blood? There's no telling where they're going.

For the spin, if you're quick and you're using the bayonet you can try R1+triangle into dodge to get far away.
Blood pillars always make a cross and lights up slightly on the ground before it rises.

It's still bound to your character, sadly, but you can make nice pictures with it. I just wish there were controls to change the pose, how your character looks around, and even just a little bit of pitch and yaw to it.

I actually soloed that invasion after having a companion help me out the first time. I'm shocked I was able to do it since I'm only using a bayonet. It's a hell of a challange since it's like 5 waves of giants and normal enemies with miniboss at the end. I got it after my 10th or 12th try.

Funky hitboxes, lots of damage (though I could have just leveled up/upgraded armor), some silly particle spam but learnable patterns and pretty challenging. Better than das3 bosses, though that is not saying much.
I don't get this line of reasoning. What's wrong with souls combat, aside from dumb exploits that Vein unfortunately carried with it (backstabs)? It spoiled me on RPGs. Lacking depth, but simple enough to get great mileage.

Went with Aset for the dungeon bosses and had a blast, even though spellcasting is pretty quick the Artorias looking fucker gave me almost no breaks. Looking forward to learning how to properly integrate it with physical attacks.

There are a quite a few gifts that allow you to get in close as a mage, like the Chariot and *teleport in front of you* ones. Seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to close distances.

Something weird I noticed about Aset is that it has the second highest weight limit after Berserker for some reason. I think it can reach normal roll speed with the queenslayer greatsword, and some of the heavy weapon gifts hit as hard or harder than Aset's biggest spells.

I think it's for balance purposes desu.

The big weapons have a huge Ichor drain level, so it could be encouraging mages to carry them around. Would be a nice departure from mages typically only carrying the smaller stuff.

It's kind of the same deal with the ivy veil, or at least the one in the demo. It's got the biggest magic damage and that super cheesy charge drain, but is the slowest veil overall and tricky to use once a fight actually starts.

Io also seems to be primarily heavy weapon and damage oriented, though her halberd seems more to gain ichor and stagger instead of deal damage.
