GZDoom still changes heavily from vanilla Doom, it even changes the RNG and hitboxes
It's also badly optimized and has shit default settings, even the resolution changing options were fucked a while ago
There was even a dangerous exploit that took a while to be found because its devs are fucking retarded
GZDoom is literally reserved for mods because that's one thing it's good at, for vanilla or few quality of life changes, there's Crispy and PrBoom plus
