I do, the writing is just fucking awful
Because it sucks
because it's shit
i'm not BADASS enough
Borderlands 1 was alright but repetitive to the point of being boring.
Borderlands 2 has the worst scaling ever in a video game. The writing is just icing on the cake but is not even close to the reason 2 is shit.
I wonder how long her neck will be by Borderlands 4
I do, its an enjoyable enough series for co-op but the scaling in 2 is cancer and pre-sequel was mostly shit. I'll wait and see how 3 does since the 6 month delay for the PC port happened.
Because it’s popular.
its too colorful
Borderlands 1 is boring tripe
Borderlands 2 had terrible scaling and tried too hard with the modern identity politics
It's AMAZING in terms of writing and the like outside of that though.
Best voice acting in games.
Did not like the desperate attempt to push tuff women thing.
It's generic and shit
>why Yea Forums doesn't like borderlands?
But I do? Moze brothers where are you at?
If there's a God she'll be killed in 3.
Its "humor" is grating, especially in an age where irreverence humor is the dead horse everyone likes to beat
What happened to tits tattoo wtf
I liked 1 a lot. By 2 I was tired of the looter shooter genre and was happy it went away for a while. You can only imagine my disappointment when Destiny decided to bring it back.
>reverse dileting
10 BILLION GUNS
# NotAnFPSDiablo
She lost her siren powers and her siren tattoos
the shit tier writing.
I hard that TPS has better gameplay so I got it when it was free on PS+ but have not touched it
it gets stale fast.
>tons of guns!
>but only the fire gun is useful
>use it over and over and over

What is your native language?
The problem is you outlevel the content on normal mode in BL2 and the Pre-Sequel. It doesn't get fun until you start on True Vault Hunter mode. BL3 seems to have fixed it by having everything scale up, but not down at all times, so you never get low level loot or one-hit kills.
Imagine a loot based action RPG where all the classes had the exact same abilities except for one and most of the loot in the game wasn't for a build and instead was just "What you were doing, just slightly better", then you slap on some MMO-style gating and you have Borderlands.
It's frustrating because it could be amazing but instead it's mediocre and tedious.
Bo-o-oring.
Exponential scaling is never okay.
>Coal Burner/Coal Burner/Coal Burner
I'm not seeing the difference.
At least it isn't Destiny.
I can't proceed until I loot all the stuff, and there's too much stuff
I can't proceed until I drop every weapon that sells for less than the weapons still on the ground/in chests
It's an RPG. You can't have vast amounts of side content and then design the main missions around it without scaling. You either have casuals screeching about having to "grind" by doing all the quests, or you have people like you who do them and then outlevel the main quest, making it braindead easy. Drop the pseudointellectualism.
its boring as fuck and cringe writing
I do. I like it because it's popular.
Defend this, retard.
Golden keys were a fucking mistake! And Burch writing was cringefest.
I used to like BL2, but kinda grew indifferent towards it thanks to all the rubbish dlc released after it and just kinda got tired of the gameplay. Also the humor that I didn't mind at first, started to rub me the wrong way because it's aggressive and in your face with no subtlety at all.
There's nothing to defend. It's just numbers. Damage has the same amount of decimals as at lower levels, just with a red K next to the numbers. Every ARPG in existence does this.
Because it plays like a 1-4 player MMORPG.
>Every ARPG in existence does this
No, most games do not scale exponentially.
>Epic cancer
Because it's written by Anthony Burch
>doesn't get fun until you start on True Vault Hunter mode
But then it's still shit. If you play the DLCs through on your first run, you end up massively overleveled for the rest of the game, then it even puts you ahead for TVH, completely sapping the point. Then you get UVHM where you have to slag everything and you just have numbers vomited all over your inventory and the screen.
The most criminal thing about it is that for a looter shooter is that the loot is garbage. The best weapon I had for ages was a rusty gun called "Law", which was replaced by a higher level gun that was the same in every way bar stats.
You beat the final boss, which drops potentially the only orange item you see for an entire playthrough and its a fucking mask.
To top it off, the humour is "its random so it's funny", because nothing gets me pissing myself in laughter easier than the big bad guy laughing at his dead grandma because she was mean while talking about his diamond horse. Hilarious.
Can't speak for everyone, but sandy/rusty post-apocalyptic settings in vidya and cinema make me feel dirty, like I need to wash my hands. Couldn't get into Borderlands or Fallout because of that.
That's why I play through the main game on the first playthrough, then start NG+ and immediately do the DLCs from the first fast travel point. I did this recently. Ended at level 33 on normal mode, ended at level 51 at the end of the final DLC on NG+.
Booooooooorieeeeeeeeeeng
Because the gameplay + loot can be pretty fucking good at times however the series is flawed as fuck.
People usually prefer to play borderlands 2 but it is the one i most dislike due to how the abilities are mostly useful after you complete an ability tree instead of being useful right of the bat. besides gaige all the other character are underwhelming as fuck. TPS fixed a lot of things but failed to deliver in content.
I just hope borderlands 3 has the same amount of content as 2 did while having the same or improved combat of TPS.
Also, on a semi-related note, did they increase the legendary drop rate? i sually would get 2 legendaries per playtrough but in my current one i already have like 7 or 8
Writing is terrible, gunplay is mediocre, rpg systems are nearly nonexistent.
It's kind of repetitive
Hony now.
>he badasses, welcome to Pandora
>copy that
They do, and especially when there's NG+ on higher difficulties involved. Virtually every major ARPG does this, which makes second and third runs interesting as there is a period where you need to gear up again before the difficulty becomes smooth. Even games like Ratchet and Clank does this on NG+, where all your weapon levels go from a cap of 5 to 100.
They're obnoxious with an okay concept. I wish they were better because I'd love to play a good game in the same vein. It didn't feel like customization mattered much, and the constant babble throughout the game with all the pop culture references and "tongue in cheek humor" really annoyed me.
Yeah, I know I like the subtly intelligent humor in modern media.
Know what, I just want to point and laugh at juvenile silly and twisted humor sometimes.
Overrated generic and boring shooter with some jokes.
its my guilty pleasure
its funny out of all the looter shooters borderlands is still miles above them
randy is a piece of shit though
I wana be the 2009 version of her
She got rid of her slutty tattoos in the new game? Sold. Fuck tattoo sluts.
BADASS you say?
I pirated the original back in 2009 and was so board that I never finished it. Never even bothered with the sequels. Apparently the developer is a huge Cuck.
>unfun damage scaling means every gun feels like trash
>unfun loot system means you have to actively grind for specific weapons
>unfun perk system means everyone uses the same optimal build
>unfun multiplayer system means everyone is rushing to loot the best guns first and people don't kill enemies from afar
Awful gunplay, floaty movement with zero traction, souless writing by sheltered middle class kids who have obviously never left their gated communities, bullet sponge enemies, unfunny dialog and jokes, a world with the bare minimum of interactability, boring loot (although cool loot system) + I think this game would benefit from an armour/gear system.
Also season pass and microtransactional cancer.
Not sure what you mean by your post user. I'm just saying the humor in BL2 isn't the best and is rather juvenile at times. Doesn't help with how actively the game tries to force it down your throat.
Because of lilith mostly. Its fucking surreal that the only likable characters in the game are Scooter and his fat sister.
I know it's over the top and is so bad that it is physically painful at times.
But the times that it lands happens more then the times that it doesn't.
Its kinda boring desu. Enjoyed it with lots of weed and a friend though. When I was like 15
Fuck this retard for destroying Duke
Someone post the pic, you know the one
Scooter is good in very small doses and I never liked his fat sister.
Also if they wanted to do a service to scooter in the game. Then they should have made the fat chick the CEO and KEPT scooter as the voice or as a voiced AI for teh catch a ride service.
>best weapons drop from final boss with like 15% drop rate - chance at one of them
>one possibility is a mask only cosmetic value
>fighting the boss again results in drop rates dropping into single-figures
>if you don't get the weapon you want in the first 5 or so kills, you won't get it
>if you do, it's either so overpowered that it ruins the game, or it's so underpowered that it was pointless
Like you say user, game sucks.
>the times that it lands
Directly into a pile of shit maybe. I could count on one hand the number of times I chuckled if I cut off my thumb and three fingers.
Name your THREE funniest momenents in Borderlands.
The drops feel like they went up in most cases
>Krieg
>Underwhelming
yeah, he is pretty underwhelming so far but i dont have him maxed out yet. i do like the extra firing speed and melee attack damage from the middle tree but so far i am not impressed. the best one has been gaige and the gunzeeker on solo playtroughs.
Women really do age like milk
boring as fuck
cringe writing
>gunzerker
Salvador is the most broken character in the entire series. He can solo any raid boss scaled to 4 players in literally seconds.
Well yeah there are some genuinely funny moments, but they get lost in the sea of absurdity.
I don't like Borderlands, as a series, anyway, because it has done nothing to improve itself since the first game. BL1 was okay, but not what it could have been. The combat was decent, the world design was neat, the playable characters were unique enough while still boiling down to shooting stuff, and the writing and characters were okay, too. Then Borderlands 2 comes along, fixes nothing about the first game, debatably makes some aspects worse (such as the damage scaling), and wears these things like a badge of honor. And on top of all this, it's a DLC nightmare, and has some of the most obnoxious, Deadpool-esque writing and characters to ever grace the world of video games. I tried to enjoy it, I really did, but I just don't understand the rabid love this game gets. I gave up hope for the series, never playing Pre-Sequel, and I literally could not care less about BL3.
Also, fuck Randy Pitchford. Like, with a rake.
yeah, which is why he is great.
Oh yay more auto aim bullshit.
It's like that Doom 2016 gameplay where the guy is jumping around, switching guns and strafing to make it look cooler, when it's all unnecessary.
