Neo Geo is gen 4 and just edges out the SNES. The Sega Master System was more powerful than the NES (but only because the Famicom shit on the SG-1000) and is gen 3.

This tier list is shit. FH4 should be in God, FH3 in Top. Ashen should definitely be above Below. Quantum Break should be in Top, Sunset Overdrive should be in God, FH2 and F7 should both be in mid, the rest is alright.

Xbonx was literally their fastest selling SKU. Not to mention that trying to outdo each other in terms of power is what Sony and MS have done for 3 gens now.

Here's the thing, most console gamers are casuals. They don't know what 1440p or 30 fps actually means, they just want the cheapest way there is to play Call of Duty with their fellow dudebros. If they were serious gamers, they would get PCs. Only 2% of PS4 owners purchased Bloodborne, but I'd bet something like 50-80% of PS4 owners bought a Call of Duty game. So Sony is going to make an $800 ultra-powerful console(that's still weaker than a PC), and the dudebros are going to look at the Xbox Two and see a cheaper way of playing Call of Duty.
It's a big mistake to make the most expensive console of the generation. Not even once has the most expensive console won a generation(Master System, Atari Lynx, Neo Geo, Game Gear, Saturn, PSP, Xbox, PS3, Vita). What basically won this generation for Sony was deciding to release the PS4 at a lower cost than the Xbox One. The crappy sales of the PS4 Pro should be a good indicator that most gamers are not interested in an expensive, powerful console.
So Microsoft is going to offer a cheap way of playing Battlefield and CoD, plus the game pass, and I see it as being very appealing to the majority of people who play video games(in other words, casuals).
