>VR is completely dead outside a literal fistful of fetish games
Explain this shit. Why do you even own a VR set?
VR is completely dead outside a literal fistful of fetish games
Im poor
But even if I could afford it I think the novelty would wear off pretty fast
I'm still waiting on Golem for PSVR. I really hope it's not stuck in development but it seems highly likely given how long it's been since they put out any info.
I honestly don't know how to feel about VR. On the one had it's really cool, on the other the barrier of entry and how exhausting it is to use makes it uncompetitive with regular games. Maybe Valve will eventually make HL3 that's VR exclusive and everyone is gonna buy it.
The hell is "Golem"?
Indie game by a few ex-Bungie devs, most notably for me Marty O'Donell.
VR is a meme gimmick fad that is already over.
They really tried to force it, what I don't get is why they tried forcing it with trash shovelware/10 games. The only good title that has it is a goddamn remaster.
it was a christmas gift. i never asked for it
>Marty O'Donell
How the might have fallen
Well it’s not dead it’s clearly the future of gaming it just has been cryofreezed until we have a better technology
you have to clear your entire room to play it
so either have an extra room, a giant basement, or live like rust cohle
for me, it's a pain in the ass. and titty games are the only cool thing and illusion games get boring after a while desu
The fistful of fetish games
Here, Give it one good use before throwing it in the trash for good. No need to thank me.
mega.nz
VR isn't dead, It's just chugging along in it's own niche, it works pretty well but is way too expensive right now. Most AAA devs are just waiting untill tech got cheap enought so you can get 8k 60FPS gaming on a mid-range GPU and affordable VR headsets with 6DoF
VR is fun but it has ups and downs in development. Right now there's not a lot of games being put out because devs are waiting to see how VR 1.5 adoption is going to go
No point in investing in finger controls if nobody buys an index
>that title
is it implying what i think is it implying?
I actually worked at a VR arcade for a few months. It was my first time getting to use a vive and because we had individual rooms for each headset you had tons of room to move around in.
Between super hot, beat saber, and Arizona sunshine alone VR Is phenomenal. It’s just in the growing awkward phase 3D graphics were in with the PS1 N64 era
It got a release window recently
gematsu.com
This. Calling it dead is stupid when there’s an active dev community around it, but it’s true that there’s still an urgent need for the tech to get cheaper so that it can breach into mainstream before it fizzles out.
Is this another Ryan Gosling sim or something?
Yes goys we need VR to become commonplace and available to the masses so gaming innovations like gacha and microtransactions can ruin it *hand rubbing intensifies*
You can't legally own firearms in my country outside of hunting. Gun range games like H3VR are a good way to scratch that itch
I think it's neat how VR can succeed with even lowspec looking games. Organ Quarter, for example, was pretty decent despite looking like a ps2 game.
Scratch that, why aren't you getting your hunting license, Yea Forums?
>four leaf clover hairpin
Is Chieri, dare I say, /ourgirl/?
This was just an excuse to post resize me, wasn't it?
>VR is completely dead
This isn't going to become true just because you post it a lot, user.
Fuck off before I fucking cave your thraquea in, retard.
Last warning.
Very much this.
Touched a nerve, huh? Why do you hate VR so much out of interest?
i was spoiled with high framerate, good quality VR for a while. played some cheapo VR rig on a laptop at a friends place, which meant zero caliber running at like 15FPS and looking like total shit
yet it was STILL fucking crazy immersive and STILL insanely fun
i genuinely don't know why people shit on VR except for the genetic rejects who get sick instantly
youre gay and in the wrong
They are looking for the next TORtanic and think they can meme it to death, they see it as a contender in their platform wars, they are poor, or they are unfit and don't want to have to move more than their fingers while gaming. Or they have one eye. Any single one of these things is enough to unleash the salt mines you can see in any given /VR/ thread.
Have you tried Index? First time I put it on it was so fluid it was creepy.
Of course my brain has since normalized to it and it like all things it no longer brings me joy but damn, shit was crazy for a while.
God what a depressing pic
The killer app is coming.
I just use it to dance in vrchat
Looks cute. What's it about
Being endlessly teased by Takagi
I assume it was a relatively slow month. Or normies really, really like Football Manager and the Sims. But the Quest has been selling well too.
As an user further up noted, it has it's own niche, as it's not in a position to challenge consoles at the moment. But (whether you like the direction it suggets or not, I personally don't) the Quest looks like it might be starting to make headway into giving VR mainstream appeal.
> Big forehead
> smug
Now if she had thick eyebrows that would have been bonus. But yeah cute
There are a lot of people who simply parrot the shitposting they see on Yea Forums and convince themselves it's shit when they haven't even tried it.
It's true that there's an excess of tech demos but it's still some of the most fun I've ever had with games and I feel like people who haven't tried it are really missing out.
because i like to play pavlov with people and have a great time
Maybe she will be in it aswell.
I have the desire to both protect and Bully.
Thanks user
>I feel like people who haven't tried it are really missing out.
It's the biggest issue they face. People either think they are just strapping a screen to their face and it will just look closer or they think of semi-3D movies at the kinoplex. You can't comprehend VR until you've tried VR, and it's not widespread enough to make that easy, nor is there any inspiration to seek it out.
If my pops hadn't tried it on holiday at a resort and raved about it to anyone who had listened I would neve have bought PSVR when it was on sale last Christmas, and I wouldn't be in the process of building a new rig and buying a Rift S.
I work in VR. I do professional architecture visualization and VR is the next step, even if it's still a gimmick - customers love it.
Sorry if you're stuck with shitty VR games and fetish crap. Have sex.
It's about time there was a half-decent giantess game, everything else is either a shitty JRPG or version 0.12 alpha or an unfinished project
Imagine if you weren't talentless and useless, you could be raking in 40k per month on Patreon
C-can we have the neon-punk future we all dreamed of, where rain is always pelting on the windows, in our VR future? Please developer-sama?
They're only making $2k a month on patreon, split between both of them though
What the fuck was her problem?
>Tackles her
She's just trying to get Makoto's attention i.e. affection, too bad he's a literal low IQ faggot.
Ah, and she's a sadist too.
Why did she need to kill the entire town to get his attention?
play Aircar nigger
There's VR porn games at the top of Patreon making way more money than that, just gotta put in the effort shilling I guess. I seriously think there's a ton of money to be made and I hope someone who loves money more than I do gets in on that.
Yeah, "dance".
POST VR FEET
She killed millions.
>questioning a woman's act
Fastest way to a mental ward.
I think short term VR arcades have more potential than immediate mass adoption
Actually, just less than a hundred people, for now.
She didn't, she gets stronger/hornier through being feared.
She is literally harvesting people's loosh to grow stronger.
Why do you need an explanation as to why dumb gimmicks die? What part of dumb gimmick do you not understand?
The Quest was my first experience with VR a few weeks ago and it was absolutely incredible and sold me on it entirely. Playing Superhot again on it was insane, even if I was bumping into shit. I was very much on the side of it being a gimmick to die off but I'm much more impressed and ready to see what the coming generations look like both in price and performance because even $400 is on the way to justifiable for me. Not there yet, but as a cordless kit? Not awful.
Name one good VR game. I'm waiting.
I just got a racing wheel (T300) and I'm getting a vr headset next for maximum race sim. I think this is the ideal shit for VR.
never I have regretted tackling someone in a videogame so much, that was horrifying, reminded me of this
This. VR is a meme tech for retards with too much money and it will die like every other dumb gimmick like it.
BTW, I really wish that all you VRfags who unironically believe in that shit tech would just be killed off.
ZoE M∀Rs
It's literally this imo. Everyone is poor these days. The media and public don't want to admit it because we're supposed to pretend "everything is going great and the best it's ever been! The economy is doing great!" The general public never recovered from 2008 so don't expect popular tech adoption.
Really, you expect uber drivers to waste their money on VR?
Why does VR attract so much rancid negativity? It can't be just poorfag envy, right? It doesn't cost that much to get into it nowadays
>tfw no more weekly kubokino
this is shit
>tfw only good games for it are flight sims, pavlov VR and B&S but those get old after some time
Sorry flatbrain but we VR elites will be the only ones left after the plague is released in three years. We will entertain ourselves in our well furnished bunkers with VR while the surface returns to normal and emerge to hunt down any survivors with the combat skills we learned in Pavlov.
Make peace with your god now poorfag.
>I'll just wait for it to get cheaper lol
>its actually getting more expensive
Well ok then. My interest wasn't very high to begin with, but I can take a hint.
Why would you regret it? It’s the best possible ending.
>started as two $600 just for the headset alone
>can get a full set just for 300-400 or less today
what the fuck are you talking about
A lot of poorfags are poor because they're perpetually stupid and don't realize how cheap VR is now, see who probably thinks he deserves an Index for $150
Beat Saber and I play Vox Machine with friends.
It's also really good for flight sims
this is great
Are there actually any decent VR games that aren't just simulators or waifubait games?
VR itself is a good concept in other fields, but it never really seemed all that well suited for games, or at least not full length ones anyway.
>for the small price of $999.99+tax(x2 if you live in a blue state)+shipping, this can be yours as well
It is probably from people judging it based on assumptions rather than actual experience. Essentially the same as a lifelong console player saying that keyboard and mouse is made for spreadsheets. This isn't anything new for Yea Forums, but VR is different enough that it is very difficult to get feel for how the experience will be without trying it.
> a few 5$ chips and worthless chinese plastic is worth a used car
lmao
is this the most recent update? been a while since I had a good nut
Yeah its impossible to market
Which is why every just has ads of niggers in HMDs I guess
A lot of people here are stupid and borderline normalfags, already aging into that bracket where they're terrified of new things and think they know everything. It's fine though, VR isn't going away this time.
this is the immersive power of the VR world...
Rift S and Quest are each $400 and you can often find WMR for as low as $250 if you're willing to wait for a sale, sure they won't be Index quality but saying VR is getting more expensive is straight up ignorance
Could someone please translate this? I don't speak impoverishedniggerese
Yeah, it get's steady updates every month.
VR is successful as hardware, but not for videogames. It already has a ton of uses for training simulations and therapy/medical stuff, but the only worthwhile VR experiences are beat saber and screwing around with skyrim mods.
>The only VR device I know the price of is the Index so all VR headsets must cost a thousand dollars
Rough translation if I were to guess
Time passes weirdly fast when you're in a VR game. Weirdly fast. You have no cues with lighting. You can spend an inordinate amount of time on things you can sprint through on a normal game, and I mean that in a good way. The first 'holy shit, this is going to stick around as a medium" moment for me was going down that highway at the start of Arizona Sunshine, just opening car doors scavenging while keeping an eye out for zombies. Simple, basic looting that is really just a series of pop up windows in a regular game, but here it's tactile. Now imagine games with something approaching the depth, graphics, and general polish of modern AAAs. When we get that, it's going to be hard to step away from VR.
Index is just this side of good enough on lenses. The tech is there, it's more a matter of making it a bit lighter and a lot cheaper. Also the upcoming new wireless standard.
>mfw a flatbrain tries to explain VR to me despite obviously having never tried it
>why do I own one
for all the fetish games
Maybe you the flatbrain.
I almost spent 5000 dollars on a pc rig and vr set. I spent that money on a down payment towards a sports car and am fucking a 3d woman instead of vr 2d ones.
A 1st person game in any genre can take full advantage of motion controls to give an advantage over a standard game counterpart. I don't see any reason why I would want to play a first person game on a monitor in the future. Shooters let you actually aim, platformers give a much better sense of speed and distance, and melee games give loads of freedom and better spacial awareness than on a monitor.
This game is one of the best thing that has been made in VR.
Here's hoping for some growth scenes
Sounds like the weebs got the better deal. Both of your assets will depreciate very quickly - the one question is which one will go faster.
>Time passes weirdly fast when you're in a VR game. Weirdly fast.
Luckily, you won't have this problem with OP's game.
I bought a Rift S and it gives me horrible motion sickness.
I got over motion sickness in like a month, it's easy if you know what to do.
You must push through it, if you give in you will never be able to beat it.
>you will never be able to beat it
that sounds terrible.
I'm mostly memeing, you'll get over it pretty quick. Just take frequent breaks and it'll be fine
>gacha
If that shit is on PC, throw in boob groping with the vive wands and touch controllers and I'll "probably" throw money at it
Sounds way too high effort for a low effort genre. Can't get away with jpgs in VR
VR is like 3D back in the day, a tech can be good but lose for price reasons.
Look at betamax/VHS. betamax was undoubtedly a superior format, but VHS was cheaper and thus won.
VR will pick up eventually when the entry level into the tech is cheap enough that it merits mass adoption. Until then, it's an enthusiasts' area, and thus the offerings will be limited.
War game? VaM with lip mods, or something else?
Because my uncle gave it to me after he stopped using it. It's a cheapo mixed reality headset, but it works.
>War game
Why yes, it's War Thunder with the Rape of Nanking Infantry DLC
It's already getting there with the PSVR, Quest, and Rift S. Sure, it's not going to be challenging console sales anytime soon, but who says it needs to?
It's got enough big games, even if the vast majority are ports, sims, apps, and utilities to keep me personally interested until the time comes for every house to have a headset. I mean fuck, the Quest is almost worth the price of admission just as a personal theatre in my small ass apartment.
The technology isn't there yet
Knew it
Waiting for Gabe to save VR next year.
Don't be a meanie poopy head user. I'm on a tab in bed and autocorrect is a pain.
>this is actually planned to release on Steam
Absolute madmen
h-ha how bout that The Lab update guys?
Just the hors d'oeuvre before the main course!
excited for carmack's next keynote soon
It could be argued that it never will be, since so E people seem to want tech that won't exist in our lifetimes if ever. And if for the sake of argument VR did die, it would be another couple of decades before any company dared touch it again to advance the tech. Totally defeatist attitude.
There is no "there". You either enjoy it or you don't
My mommy got me my Oculus on Black Friday for $350, and she works at McDonalds. I use it sparingly, like a novelty, but it’s worth it even if I had spent the money myself. Bestsaber, Pavlov, Obduction, Vrchat, and Robo Recall are all games I come back too.
If I pull that phone off, would she die?
VR will be the last bastion of real vidya.
Because of the hardware and framerate requirements that will keep it safe from the stadia and general streaming menace.
the fetish games
I remember when it used to basically be the Oculus Rift vs the HTC Vive, now there is so much bs.
What's considered the best VR headset now?
The Index?
The other day I was watching some dickgirl porn in VR and was thinking "You know what? This is pretty cool."
I own it for equality and diversity.
Index for wired, Quest for wireless standalone
it's probably only going to get more confusing
BASED
What game nigga
A Valve employee is to give a university talk in a couple of weeks. And they're on record for saying they'll release something for VR by the end of 2019 (hahaha). Unless that update for The Lab counts.
I'm actually pretty worried about the diluting effect from smartphone VR. VR porn can be decent, but only the Japs have it halfway figured out so far.
Index in most every respect right now, but Quest gets some serious kudos for usability being fully wireless.
Why is it dead? Probably because VR has a congenital "defect", namely, that to recreate a picture of acceptable, that is, familiar to the modern user quality, twice as many resources are required, and when these resources become available, the bar of familiar quality also grows - it turns out endless race.
To this is added the scarcity of the entertainment assortment for VR. Ordinary games are a dime a dozen - you can sort them out every day, trying something new, and VR games once and for two are counted out, and certainly there is no endless wealth for every taste. By the way, you won’t be able to remake ordinary games in the viar right away - you need a completely different control (for example, take the UE4 development environment, make a game and try to adapt it to VR - you need to think about this before you start working).
There are also not enough other offers, film production, TV shows, porn (even VR-porn is several orders of magnitude smaller, but in general there aren’t any games that disappear).
Thus, a vicious circle is added to the endless race for missing quality: there are few offers, this does not attract the audience, and seeing that the audience is narrow, the industry is in no hurry to work on the assortment.
Virt A Mate. It's shit.
It's almost like strapping a monitor to your face isn't really virtual reality.
Stick to your shitty shit resolution porn vids kid, VR uncanny valley porn valhalla is beyond your reach.
VR will be the last refuge from clown world
I spent the last 2 days fucking with it. It's got an acceptable concept but the physics and community made scenes are wonky and unintuitive.
Oh it's a total nightmare to use but it's obsoleted all other porn for me. Like seriously the shit you can do with it is incredible and potentially illegal in multiple jurisdictions.
Definitely not for the lazy though.
>install a plug in
>it doesn't work
It's like that but for half the content.
I've never seen someone say so little with so many words
remember when VR devs said this time is different for VR
hahaha onononono bruh
Index is best overall
Rift S has best value
Quest is something else.
Works on my machine
DCS and racing sims
:)
Lewd
>tfw no psycho reality warper gf
How do you deal with the post-fap regret when you realize how much time you just wasted?
Monster Girl would be literal killer app if he adds full support in the 20 years until its finished
I ponder the ultimate futility of life and how everything we know and love will be ground to dust and forgotten just like the countless lives before us.
You?
>The killer app of VR is waggling wiimotes to anime music
>In 2019
Just embarrassing. Shame on anyone who actually bought a VR headset.
How many people on Yea Forums even have this fetish?
At least one.
Give it to me.
if there was an ecchi "learn jap" game id drop money on vr so fast
How in the literally fuck are you idiots going to indicate the strength of the pc market by using amazon's best sellers list when every pc player buys digitally?
That's a darn good idea.
Count me in.
So what is this game actually?
When the Hell is Boneworks coming out? Are we at least getting a demo soon?
I did, i feel bad.
The novelty wore off, but it's still cool for friends coming over to try it out. Elite Dangerous VR is still the best way to play for me, and VR Kanojo with the boys is still entertaining
i got my vr headset for free a month ago and ive been spending like 3 hours a day just flying around in space engine
It's called Resize Me. It's a size fetish game where you meet up with the girl, who is your childhood friend. She uses this app on her phone to shrink you and slowly becomes more sadistic towards you as the game progresses.
Is there vore?
Not yet but devs confirmed it for future updates.
Fantastic.
>that image
Yeah that's exactly how I imagine it. You're having comfy space exploration then you turn around.
>tfw every other Patreon porn game is trapped in scope creep and eternal development hell
>this one is updating consistently with a reasonable scope and release schedule
It's a mixed bag, I like that it's updating but I'll be sad when it's finished desu
>Sony stopped actively publishing/getting deals for VR titles
>Oculus is shifting gears to push for Oculus Quest instead
>Valve doing nothing as usual, aside from updating their three year old tech mode last week
Least there's Lone Echo 2 & Stormland to come sometime next year?
can you bend her over a desk
NICE
VR isn't dead
kill mario simulator just released today
>Oculus Quest
that looks like another failure for facebook
why are they so optimistic
HIRE THIS MAN
VR is great for porn, race games and flight sims.
>that looks like another failure for facebook
It's already on pace to outsell the Rift in a few months, and since it's a closed environment for normies (since they don't know how to sideload), all the software sales benefit them.
>naysayers want something to fail
>reality rejects the notion
Why are you people like this?
cause they don't play anything
NOOOOOOOO MY $500 INVESTMENT!! IT WASN'T A WASTE OF MONEY!!! AHHH!!
>MUH VR is a gimmick
I really hope that people who say this are just poor and coping. VR is the future, people aren't buying it yet because name 1 system seller for VR. No system sellers, systems don't sell. But it's getting there
>Sony stopped actively publishing/getting deals for VR titles
Huh? Last time I saw a Sony Direct it was literally just a VR show. And they had their big VR exclusive game a few months ago. Why is everyone so delusional?
>money on VR
We still don’t have whatever the mass-market iPhone equivalent of VR is. It’s got to be wireless, good battery life, good game library, instant boot up, doesn’t make you puke, and in the $200 - $300 range. I’m sure it’s on the way but there’s nothing out there that checks all the boxes.
Not to mention consumers need to feel like the thing will last. I'm not buying VR until I feel like my headset will be supported for at last one full generation.
Espire 1 comes out this month. It doesn't look perfect, but still unironically the best stealth game in years. People complain about games always being the same, when VR is an opportunity to actually have new and evolved experiences. Although it won't replace traditional games, it can still be appealing
fuck i'm disappointed takaki is gone from the SK franchise. no more random giantess fanservice in the games, if there even are any more games
Personally I'd love to play a few VR games but I just don't have the damn space for the thing anywhere
>We still don’t have whatever the mass-market iPhone equivalent of VR is. It’s got to be wireless, good battery life, good game library, instant boot up, doesn’t make you puke, and in the $200 - $300 range.
Oculus Quest will get there.
Yup
On the plus side there are tons of old first-person games they can mine for VR releases as the hardware matures. I know everyone is sad they can’t look at their character’s ass in Cyperpunk but that will be seem like a smart decision when you’re playing it on the equivalent of a Rift S in ten years
Somebody will no doubt, it’s extremely obvious what needs to improve before norms show interest
What they need to do is drop Oculus Go and focus harder on Quest so they can make it cheaper. Just advertise it as a portable VR game machine that can do 'personal' movie watching, wherever you are.
