why is his tie edited to be pink?
I'd like to see a new Lupin game though. I don't know how it'd play but it'd be interesting to see none the less. Are there any studios at SEGA that would be good for this?

Only if he cleans the streets of Paris with his gun. And ditch Fujiko already.
Rewatching Part 2 and Fujiko is a constant reminder never to trust that snake whore.

I think a good dev team that would be able to take a crack at a Lupin III game would be Ryuu Ga Gotoku studios since their Yakuza series is pretty good as beat em up games. They made that Fist of the North Star game so I think that that would be another good reason.

Also, I made that edit to his tie. I wanted to look more like he did in Part 2.

I remember playing one of his games when I was younger, but too dumb to get past the part after the train. It looked really cool though

The Sly trilogy were the best Lupin games ever made.

The Super Famicom version of Lupin was fine. We don't need another one.

yes.Maybe a gmae where you can choose your equipment for all the team(maybe not Gaemon), occasionally mini games like musou for Gaemon, a Time Crisis version for Jigen and so on

I believe in the first game in the unlockable developer commentary they mention Sly and Carmelita being inspired by Lupin and Zenigata. The names are bleeped out however.

Sometimes.

I was really hoping Persona 5 would deliver on that front but they kinda dropped the ball hard on that sadly.

I agree. The relationship between The Phantom Thieves and Goro Akechi felt more like Death Note, a really fucking boring anime ever since I watched in middle school.

Yeah, Akechi was a complete disappointment and after the pyramid the kinda forgot about the general theme of thievery and went to space and other bullshit.

Test don't reply pls

Lupin's great. He definitely deserves a good game. Watching Part 4 again made me sit down and replay the Sly trilogy and P5 just because I wanted more.

Part 5 sucks, especially the future India poo in the loo arc.

Nah. It's a very awkward thing to do a licensed game on (requires planification on the players' side, multiples characters with radical switches in gameplay...), it would be better if someone inspired by it made an unrelated game. The batch of Lupin media since the mid 90s has been awfully mediocre outside of some segments. Haven't seen the new Koike movie, though.

Shit taste. Part 5 is the best part.

Oh fuck off man. Jesus christ that's an horrible opinion to have and I have taste low enough to genuinely enjoy Napoleon's Dictionary.

t.Jigen

Even if Lupin got another game it would be Japan onry most likely, and anyway he is such zoomer repellent it would sell very poorly even among weebs in USA, but very well in Itary and Europe probably

Yeah, Fujiko is a real bitch in Part 2. She is extremely hateable. On the other hand, Parts 4 and 5 portray her in a much better light.

>he genuinely enjoys Napoleons' Dictionary
Fucking how? Explain it to me, please.

If you liked part 4, your opinion on Lupin doesnt matter. You probably didnt get any reference in part 5, you zoomer.

ルパン, 逮捕だ!

The script is GREAT! It's the wackiest out of the more politically driven Lupin TV specials written by Kashiwabara, and its usage of Goemon as a manchild eventually cutting missiles from the NATO on a flying castle is brilliant. The animation is incredibly poor, yeah, but that can be said of any 2000s TV special, and those are not even entertaining on a conceptual level.

Part 4 also sucks senpai, as I've said there's just bits and pieces I like from 1995 on. Dropped Part 5 after the lousy Part 3 tribute episode that was just a husk in every way. Terrible, lifeless animation.

>Part 4 sucks
Opinion discarded. The Da Vinci bullshit was pretty bad, but that's like the finale and maybe one or two episodes before it.

What's wrong with Part 4? I felt it was quite good and had a lot of decent episodes.

I did like the Japan episode, but every character in IV is just incredibly toned down and had lost its edge (specially Fujiko). Every time the MI6 dude appears it was groan worthy outside of a single solitary cut of him animated by Shinya Ohira for some reason, same with the recurring female character they used. I hardly remember any individual episode of it or interesting moments beyond the one with the dog or the one that flat out copied the "Lupin is finally captured" plotline. It's not as bad as what I watched of Part 5, though (at least it has production standards) and I'd agree that it's better than the later TV specials. It's just boring to me, and most of the problems I saw with 5 were already there with 4. I really don't like the mixture of overarching plots with secondary characters and the disparate essence of the series as a whole.

But hey, my opinion would be discarded anyways if I displayed my taste in full. For example, I love Return of the Magician.

Hey Yea Forums, got a question for ya.

What do you guys think of Toonami's P5 dub? I've been really enjoying it and feel like the English voice actors fit their characters really well.

I recently went through all of Lupin this summer, and I really loved it. I saw Cagliostro back in 2015 and it was my first Lupin related media and I fucking loved it, so watching the series back to back was also great.

A couple of hit and miss episodes in 1 and 2 that's for sure, but I loved a lot of them. The Rose of Versailles episode was really cool especially after coming off watching it this year. But Part 3 really was the lowest point in the series, when Lupin somehow made a Dolphin fall in love with him I was just so confused with it all, and it had some fucking QUALITY moments. I'm surprised I saw it all the way through.

Part 4 and 5 I quite liked, it was cool to see a more episodic Lupin series and seeing him deal with modern shit with ease and still keeping his style about him. Part 5 was my favourite just because of the overarching story and the last couple of episodes where they basically have a nostalgia trip and show all the one off characters from other episodes. Seeing Scorpion and Melon was really surprising as well. I enjoyed the Zenigata moments as well, seeing him chase Lupin and discuss why he continues to do it to this day was really heartwarming. Hell, seeing him take care of Ami in his crappy apartment was pretty nice of him as well.

I need to get around to the films though, I love seeing Zenigata team up with Lupin and Voyage to Danger seems to be exactly that plot from the first five minutes or so I've watched.

Parts 4 and 5 were both absolutely fantastic, I don't know what people are complaining about. Part 5 was especially good, some of the best writing in recent anime. And this coming from someone who usually has a "meh" reaction to most Lupin stuff.

Lupin is by far the last hold out of true old fashioned adventure thriller kino. Globe trotting capers, beautiful women, gun fights, planes, trains, cars chases, castles, high-class crime, mystical artifacts, science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, masculine men; it remains a crystallization of the late 20th century and even late 19th that modern times have tried in every regard to destroy. This is exactly why zoomers hate it so badly.
Fucking hang in there Lupin my man, mankind needs you.
