Why is it so perfect?

Why is it so perfect?

it's good a great story and some top of the line visuals for the time. the dialogue. and atmosphere is fucking unparalleled.

It's like even the flaws of the game are strengths. The voice acting is absolutely atrocious by all metrics, and yet it works towards building the atmosphere and makes the most normal conversation sound eerie and unsettling shame about the horrendous redub for the HD re-release, god what a shitshow that was

Uuuuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuh!

It really is.

It's a terrible disappointment after the first game.
Baby's first deep narrative (like Donnie Darko or Fight Club), gameplay that takes several steps in the wrong direction (no enemy variety and what is there is never threatening in the slightest), and the graphics while impressive don't do nearly enough to push the game forward into the next generation.
It's not "so bad it's good," it's just bad, and you people are in too deep to admit that the flaws are not deliberate
>muh ebin kintsukuoi konami-sama
Embarrassing.

>rust and piss stains everywhere
>floor buttons the size of human head, probably give a lot of resistance when pushed too
>they are also set far apart from each other and very high, which is inconvenient design as you have to raise your hand high to push a button and have to move it a lot to switch between buttons
>the door is solid iron, good luck opening that shit manually when the elevator breaks
Yeah, couldn't be more perfect

Where would you rank SH2?

>not interested in loli ghost rape and F.K. in the coffee
Shit taste.

What are you talking about?
Floor buttons?
What?

As a game, it's mechanically very poor. As a work of art, it is phenomenal in what it achieves. It is literally artistically perfect in every aspect (note that I said artistically, not mechanically). The OST is still the greatest I've ever heard in a video game, the graphics still hold up really well by today's standards, the characters all have this morbid characterization to them that is perfectly depicted in the cutscenes and in their voice acting. The game as a HORROR game also never lets you get in a comfortable spot like 99% of the horror games right now; it never allows you to "understand" it. It's always breaking its own rules as the game goes. The narrative is also phenomenal despite being very banal in movies for a while before release (and even in video games today). Sometimes, a banal story told excellently is much more enjoyable than one that is extremely well written but has terrible execution (see Looper vs Primer for an example of this).

>Clock Tower 3 on A
>Implying is on the same level as the first one
No

The entire list is a meme, in case you haven't noticed.

Well I can see a small room with door and some button-looking rectangles on one wall, I thought it was supposed to be an elevator. Isn't it? I have no idea, I haven't played the game.

It's not an elevator at all

>Well I can see a small room with door and some button-looking rectangles on one wall
Those aren't buttons.
Nigga go play SH2.
What are you doing.
Stop wasting your time on a shithole board and play it, it's incredibly easy to get and play the PC version, someone will post the image with all the links to make it work, soon.

I disagree the gameplay is adequate and in some places brilliant like when you have to go through the basement of the hotel with no items you have been used to using the entire game. Or when you have to memorize the codes for the box that are found in the inmates cells. Or the entire prison section with those guard grumbling sounds.

Look at this homo

>all these meaningless superlatives with zero critical substance
You are very bad at this.

I "understood" the game as soon as I entered the apartments and went "so, they've doubled down on the locked doors, hmm?"
The characters are one-note and static and their motivations make no fucking sense.
I can't even find anything else noteworthy in what you wrote to refute here.

Such an obvious bait. I wish people try harder like before.

0/10

>even SH threads are now being tainted by underage zoomers who can’t appreciate the trilogy

If it didn't have the walking/escorting sections, and enemies were functionally more varied, it would be perfect. Looking forward to playing 1&2 again next month though.

honestly SH2 was the weakest of the silent hills I've played

granted, it's been about 15 years since I last played SH4, I recall it being genuinely spooky whereas SH2 mostly just gave me headaches with how much the camera fought against you
