For the broken joy-con or the drifting ones? I didn't see any broken parts from the right one but probably some of the internal components got shifted out of place- maybe the ribbon cable since it can't connect to the main unit. Never found what screwdriver I needed to open it however

You can send the drifting ones in and they repair them free of charge.
Just got mine back yesterday. The 2 OG joycons from my launch console and my newer yellow one that started drifting. Didn't put any receipts in, they were repaired and sent back, no questions asked.

For the drifting ones. You can order just the joystick part to replace.
You are right though, you need to buy the triwing bit/screwdriver as well. But they are also fairly common and cheap on eBay too.
I think even buying the screw bit and new joystick replacements would still be cheaper than new joycons though. Worth looking into. Plenty of YouTube videos on it if you want to see if it is something you're comfortable doing.
