I don't understand why this remake gets so much flak on here. It really doesn't look that bad. The animations are pretty clean. Also the implication that Spyro banged some hookers being gone doesn't change the gameplay.

As someone who loves the remakes I totally understand why it gets shit on here. Tons of people on Yea Forums are at the age to where they have big nostalgia for the PS1 days, and Spyro was a gorgeous looking game. The remake simplified the skyboxes and character designs and some didn't like that. To many people, the charm and soul of a game matters even more than the gameplay.

It's the same as case the N Sane trilogy: the first game was remade well and benefited from modern improvements, but for 2 and 3 you're better off playing the original.

It has more effort put into the art direction than Crash's remakes but they suffer similar problems too. What said. The first game's remake is the only one worth playing over the original. Also, don't bother with the console releases, they're awful.

Actually, in Spyro's case there was gonna be another clan of dragons called the Machinists, who worked with technology. Gnasty's World was gonna be a separate place, but they ran out of time and converted what they had made of Machinists into the Gnorc Gnexus.

This. I've had my problem with the games (like how the the building in Cloud Spires were changed from clouds to regular stone) but it's overall not bad. We we got a fully original Spyro game, it's gonna looks it's best because it wont be trying to match the look of a PS1 game.

I for one would've really loved if the game had added new introductions for every boss, like how NST spiced up the boss intros. Dr. Shemp, Metalhead, and Jacques in particular could have had great potential with that.
