Because the project I have in mind is kinda big and I'm still thinking about how to sort it out. Not YOU CAN DO ANYTHING big, but not a typical platformer/shootemup/quirky game genre mashup either.
I am, but dealing with performance issues and watching my life crumble in front of me is actually making it really hard to continue.

Because programming is like 20% of making an actual game. You need artist skills, not coding. There are literally drag&drop engines around, shouldn't keep you away from making games.

I don't even play videogames, why would I create one ?
Look up some SMART goal templates to get a better feel for how you want to structure it.
