I always enjoyed the fact that the icons would change or animate depending on what action you were doing with them. Some had special animations that played when you deleted them or copied them.

Nothing made me feel stranger than the PS2 towers on startup. as a kid and to this day i use to think about how strange it would of been on floor level looking up at the height of the towers, the mist, and the orbs floating above me.

That era of consoles were pretty nice in terms of the presentation. Now every console has the same boring minimalist layout.

The PS2 had the icons for PS1 games as well, I definitely know that. I can't remember if it did the different icon for different saves though.

I never deleted my Turok Evolution save because I loved the little raptor it used for the save, and kind of regarded it as a Tamogatchi/Chao. Like, I would visit my save files quite regularly to say hi to him.
I miss my save raptor.

The point is that phones are a literal cancer to board quality because they promote low effort posting. People are less likely to treat discussion meaningfully when it's something they can and will throw away on a whim, rather than something they're sat at a computer and actually taking part in.
