It's... It's so beautiful bros...
Finally got my first vidya pc

Should've gotten a gtx 1660ti
Welcome to the family
>9600k
cringe
>32gb Ram
emulators do not upscale, they are actually rendering that game's graphics at a higher resolution
welcome 2 pc
Congratulations. Ignore the people telling you what you should've bought instead, that's a solid mid-range build even though you probably didn't need that much RAM. Enjoy yourself.
>32gb Ram
You fell for the meme.
Welcome to the Master Race.
hey don't judge just because i want to keep 764 tabs of porn open for 5 months straight
>there are still people who think consoles are better for gaming
That genuinely makes me sad
no u
AMDfags pls go and stay go
Eh fuck it, it's the maximum ram my motherboard will take anyways. Futureproof yourselves everywhere you can.
Thanks bros, I'm so happy :^)
Welcome!
I too get sad when others think things.
That feel... That kind of feely feel... A feely feel that feels... Feely
I refuse to believe there's people that stupid
>Not having a console for exclusives and pc for multiplats
Get with the times son
yeah, user can now open two, maybe even three, tabs in chrome at once now
Controllers are better for racing games, if it weren't for consoles we wouldn't have some good controllers.
>What are racing wheels
Argument for Console:
- Highly optimized games from most devs.
-intuitive gaming machine. Put the disc in, and the performance specs are predefined. No .ini tweaking, updates are auto, no performance tweaking.
-Preowned sales model.
- Keyboard support for MMOs like FFXIV.
- Relatively more active multiplayer pools. Little or zero cheating for online multiplayer, as opposed to PC Overwatch, which suffer from cheaters who are able to bypass hardware bans from cafes.
- First party titles from organizations (Initiative for Common Engine) that trailblaze gaming technology to be pushed to its limits, as opposed to using the biggest GPU on the market to brute force high fidelity.
- Less maintenance.
- Technical Requirement Checklists are done to ensure application integrity before they are allowed to go on the console market.
- exclusive, physical disk options, collect ability, buying of a brand, cost effective
Pros of PC:
- 10 extra frame rates
What a waste of money, TFW ps5 will be 3times as powerful then your specs
>ps5 will be-
Yes but I'm not giving my money to a bunch of filthy SJWs like Sony. Get fucked and out of my thread faggot.
I think I just lost about 5 IQ points from reading that.
On the other hand, it's about on the level of retardation I posted on when I was but a PS3 console babby.
You'll come around.
Surely PCs have keyboard support for MMOs like FFXIV as well?
Your build is already obsolete, I feel sorry for you. Tfw my soon to be owned ps5 will shit all over it.
Only high end PC is better than newly released console like ps5...but they cost thousands of dollars...so it's a no brainer for me
Console exclusives don't exist anymore. They're timed at best, like RDR2 or FF7R
>buy rtx 2700 and latest Ryzen
>use it to emulate PS1 games
They don't
Rather waste my money on PC parts than on a Play "Everyone's gay and fuck straight men" Station 5.
And how many FPS do you get for God of War, RDR2, Spider-Boi and Ultimate Alliance 3?
Nah, those games don't have strong ties with Sony.
You will never see the flagship exclusives leave Sony, such as gran Turismo, unchartered, god of war, Spiderman, death stranding, ghost of tshinarama, bloodborne etc
>10
Well by the time ps5 comes around I'd say 1080p 60fps or 4k 30possibly 60 if we are lucky
>32 GIGABYTES OF RAM POWAH
It's a cookie duster.
Been down this road myself and have come to the conclusion consoles are for me. I do IT work servers and workstations all day. When I come home last thing I want to do is troubleshoot why a game I have been playing is now crashing, a video driver update or constantly spending my nights tweaking settings like an OCD freak trying to get one better frame. Than having to launch 15 different services to play my games all with different friends list. Than having to pop in discord or teamspeak or use ingame settings to try and find people to talk to. All this to find out that the most common games I play like COD etc are dead on PC compared to consoles.
Add to that that HDR is still a mess on PC, and while console are far in superior to PC in many ways I can just plug and play 90% of the time.
I’m not bashing PC I have a 1080ti and a 2070 both which cost more than any console and a i7 8700k etc so I can easily game and get 60FPS in most game and while it looks better sometimes for me the experience of just playing the game makes my choice easier. If PS5 can deliver 4K 30 to 60FPS and 1080p 60fps constant (very likely it will) I’m done with PC’s.
This doesn't even consider things like exclusives, streamlined online play, collect ability, physical disk options, etc etc
>Highly optimized games from most devs.
30fps isn't optimized
>Put the disc in, and the performance specs are predefined.
Enjoy the 720p motion blurr
>Keyboard support for MMOs like FFXIV.
No mouse support for shooters.
>First party titles from organizations (Initiative for Common Engine) that trailblaze gaming technology
Hasn't happened in the last 20 years
>Less maintenance.
Impossible to upgrade.
>exclusive, physical disk options, collect ability, buying of a brand, cost effective
Nobody gives a fuck about physical releases anymore
I got a shitload of ram too when I built my pc, but it came in handy for modded MC and my budding interested in 3D
Nice, enjoy user.
>Highly optimized games from most devs
And still a midrange PC blows consoles out of the water.
>No .ini tweaking, updates are auto, no performance tweaking
Most modern game autodetect your hardware and adjust settings accordingly, if you're so lazy you can't be bothered to tweak for 2 minutes.
>Preowned sales model
Fair.
>Keyboard support for MMOs like FFXIV
Unlike PC which has no keyboard support for sure. Hurr durr
>Relatively more active multiplayer pools. Little or zero cheating for online multiplayer, as opposed to PC Overwatch, which suffer from cheaters who are able to bypass hardware bans from cafes.
OK, that might be at least partially correct. Don't do too much MP.
>First party titles from organizations that trailblaze gaming technology to be pushed to its limits
...Yes, first parties usually max out what they can do on their proprietary 5yo hardware.
>as opposed to using the biggest GPU on the market to brute force high fidelity.
Brute force high fidelity? How is it bad that more advanced tech is being used for better output?
>Less maintenance.
Yeah, you don't have to invest the minimal time required on PC.
>Technical Requirement Checklists are done to ensure application integrity before they are allowed to go on the console market
What the fuck are you even saying at this point
>"buying of a brand" as a positive
HAHAHAHA
>cost effective
HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA
now enjoy not having any games to play
A mid-range PC can't even game in 4k
>spend all that money but pc has no fucking games to utilize the advanced hardware
look at steamcharts, twitch etc. and tell me what games are blowing up and currently dominating the pc market...90% is complete garbage, and the rest do not require good specs
pc gaming is an absolute joke, unless you nostalgia trip all day with emulators or play obscure and dead games
You sure user?
Last time I checked consoles get about two exclusives a year (when it's a good year), what about all the other games that release on all platforms?
I can relate, it feels fantastic after years of being a poorfag when you finally get your hands on high-end configuration and you can run everything maxed easily.
Ok, fair enough. If you want to emulate like a mad man (there's nothing wrong with doing that) then good for you. That's a benefit I can see
To be fair that's far from being a high end machine.
welcome to the club user, enjoy your stay and have fun
Consoles can't game in 1080p
games are dead in general barely a couple good games have released on pc in the past 2 years
>inb4 NO!
no.
Oh, you're talking about the mid-generation upgrades then! I thought consoles were low-cost and highly optimized. Silly me, of course you need to buy the upgraded versions now. Much better than just upgrading a PC, that's for sure.
That's not high end, lol
No the aren't.
Years of shitposting left you a bitter husk unable to enjoy anything.
>intel
OH NO NO NO
To be fair, if I had grown up with consoles and had no access to decent PC, I would probably write something this ignorant in my teens as well, so can't really be angry at this user.
Then again, still cancer though.
>30fps isn't optimized
Considering GOW and Spider-Man and Uncharted 4 run at exactly 0fps on $5000 PCs, I consider them highly optimized on PS4.
Nice strawman, ps4 can't because it came out 8 years ago. Ps5 will have no problem
You fucked up your set up with the i5K and the 32GB of RAM, but welcome anyway.
Or maybe you haven't played all good games yet because you are a 18 year old zoom zoom who started playing 3 years ago.
How is it not high end? What games can't it run maxed out?
I understand that there are more expensive stuff out there on the market right now, but from gaming perspective anything above this would be massive overkill.
>ITT: Platform Wars Episode #5637
Literal children, all of you.
Lol that goalpost moving.
>games are highly optimized!
"Actually they aren't if they run 30fps max"
>b-but they're exclusive, so there!
Lmao, based
Imagine spending thousands of dollars on a PC and unable to play several of the world's best games
>LOL mommy didnt give you her credit card to buy 2 rtx 2080ti's so that random anons can verify that your spec is ""high-end""
I'm quite probably older than you bud.
shut up weeb
I plan to upgrade to an i9 and a Radeon VII in a couple months to a year
>several of the world's best games
Like?
>Still running on 8gb
I can feel the edge my comrades.
>What games can't it run maxed out?
Most from 2017/2018 on.
That's bullshit, and you know it.
I have 32GB but it's solely because I do 3D modelling as a hobby and the extra ram lets me have more shit open in the background while working.
It's also a lifesaver while browsing for reference pics between a bunch of tabs.
Not possible because otherwise you already would've played everything good and become jaded. I'm 25 and pretty much finished all good games at 22.
>what do you mean my midrange PC isn't high-end?
>how could that be?
Well, yeah, odd way of putting it though
I'm 30 and still enjoying games lol.
Drop fagchan for a bit, it'll do you good.
>25yo
>"heh. so jaded. so old. let me tell you young'uns"
Not even the guy you're replying to, but shut the fuck up, you pretentious ultrafaggot. I'm 30 and there is loads of fun to be found if you're not deciding to be edgy.
Why does anyone need a high end pc nowadays? All games that are pretty are shit and good games are all easy to run indie shit or like doom.
I'm 32 and I'm still still good. Highly doubt you have completed every good game from every platform ever, you're just too lazy to look for the good stuff.
Haha, true, I'm 25 too....imagine thinking that's old
>Implying optimized has anything to do with being able to run at any fps
Optimizing means getting the best performance out of the given hardware. If you can get Crysis to run at 10fps on PS1 hardware, then you've absolutely optimized it for PS1. Since GOW runs far (infinitely) better on $250 PS4 hardware than $2500 PCs, I would say it is clearly optimized for the PS4 hardware
Name 2 games that you really enjoyed this year except all the usual shit like hollow knight dmc 5 sekiro. That's right you can't.
>32 gb ram
Why? Should have gone to 8x2 and use the remaining money to get a better CPU than an i5
OK at this point I'm convinced that you are shitposting.
Not even mad anymore, that was some excellent quality. Keep on going
I agree, but most people who buy PC
A high end thousands of dollars PC just do it for the bragging rights.
It's akin to comparing penis size
>use the remaining money to get a better CPU than an i5
100 bucks don't get you an i7 going from an i5.
>Radeon VII
Unless you have a specific compute workload with rendering video/OpenCL/etc., or you game exclusively on Linux where AMD wins by virtue of giving up and letting the community do their work for them, I would avoid the Radeon VII. It's severely overpriced and power hungry for what it is. I would just wait for whatever the next step up from the 5700XT is going to be and save money, rather than buy a GPU that's rumored to be EoL after seven months. Or you could buy a 2080 Super for slightly more.
>Name 2 games that you really enjoyed this year except some of the good games, those don't count because I said so.
?

ty for proving my point. games are dead.
I thought about what I really wanted to have access to and it came down to these
>emulate things
>pirate some indie garbage
>porn games
A mild PC covers all these. I will admit I didnt look what 7 or so systems and flashcarts (plus whatever you use on disc consoles) would cost but its probably not too far away from the PC I already got. With the indie stuff I would believe a lot of it hits consoles but certainly not all of it. Lastly, porn games will always be PC exclusive.
>9600K
>RX 590
oof
I'll bite, even with your arbitrary claptrap.
Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2
Frostpunk (although that came out 2018)
RE 2 Remake
AC 7
AC 4 (emulated after finishing 7)
Metro Exodus
And currently playing Control, which is surprisingly nice.
Next is Catherine and Pathologic 2.
Yakuza 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, 3.
Mario Maker 2.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
WoW Classic.
SSBU.
Soul Calibur 6.
Why the hell would an i5 not be enough for video games? Do people who post this even know what the difference is between an i5 and an i7 when it comes to video games, or these are just morons who see the bigger number and the bigger pricetag, and automatically draw the conclusion that the price difference is worth it for video games without any research whatsoever?
>Unless you have a specific compute workload with rendering video
I do, I use Final Cut Pro for my job, and AMD is Plug and Play with mac. Radeon VII is the best GPU you can get for that.
Unless Applel adds support for 5700 XT before I upgrade, in that case I'll get that one.
was meant for the jaded faggot
RDR2 is coming to PC and I never even heard of GOD so it by definition can't be anything good because otherwise I would at least have heard about it.
>Buys AMD GPU
>Doesn't want AMD CPU
You're doing it the wrong way round. Their CPUs are pretty good and their GPUs are hot garbage.
>Says a midrange PC can't do 4k
>Retorts that a console can't even do 1080p
>muh strawman. Of course no console can that exists right now can do 1080p. Just get the PS5 when it releases goyim.
>FOR A FUCKING FEATURE THAT PC HAS HAD SINCE EARLY 2000.
Is this the definition "I'm pretending to be retarded"?
>I can't argue against you therefore you're shitposting
Okay then. While you're at it try running PS3 or Wii exclusives on a PC with comparable cost to a PS3 and a Switch via emulation, and tell me those games aren't optimized for the PS3 and Wii hardware.
John Carmack himself acknowledges that consoles are far better optimized than PCs spec for spec
twitter.com
And I'm pretty sure Carmack knows a shit load more about hardware optimization than you
...
The feeling wears off pretty quickly. All I do is play old games or emulate console shit.
nah those are games that you played not games that you really enjoyed. I also played a ton of dota but i didnt enjoy it.
>let me tell you what you liked
There's no hope for you.
I think both racing games and any action game involving melee with sweeping motions plays better with analog, like dark souls. But that's only one genre really, because you might as well use a driving wheel for racers
>have all the parts except for the case and psu
The wait is killing me. Went with 3600x and 2080 Super.
Isn't that even more reason to get a Ryzen? Their multithreaded edge absolutely crushes productivity software.
Are you honestly surprised that console users are retarded?
>MacOS

Good thing you can buy a gamepad for PC for like $20 on the cheap end and $60 for high-quality ones.
What should I upgrade?
Ah, right, hackintosh doesn't let you use whatever you want. Oh well.
>Hackintosh I presume?

Completely moot point. Right now you can't play it on PC, that's all that matters. What happens in the distant future is irrelevant. You will eventually die in the future and not be able to play any games at all.
>I never even heard of GOD
Playing dumb doesn't work here buddy. But stay in denial of GOW being GOTY, a game that runs at exactly 0fps on PC.
What are you aiming to do? Those specs are too low across the board for AAA gaming on high settings and upgrading one part will just create a bottleneck elsewhere.
For a quick-fix, get DDR3 1600 or above. Haswell usually supports up to 2133. They're selling an 8GB Crucial kit for $30 on Newegg right now.
Fuck off, you're just as cancer as the one you claim to excise.
>Completely moot point.
Nice cope!
>Playing dumb doesn't work
Oh so you can't even fucking type, but you're blaming others for being dumb anyway. Gotcha!
Those are the same arguments Applefags use.
And they are not very bright, are they?
He has 2133 Mhz RAM already user....
1066 * 2 =2132
To be fair I already regret posting it because I have become aware how much I know about some random cancer webpage I don't even visit from cancer spilled over here alone.
So you're meaning to tell me my enjoyment was fake all along?
Shit, and here I thought I was really having fun. Thanks for opening my eyes, user.
Upgrade to ps5
Fuck off s*ny shill
>i5 9600K
>32gb Ram
RX 590??? pro/cons anyone?
>Intel
>6 threads
How does it feel being a fucking threadlet with a pozzed CPU?
Welcome to every pc gamer insulting you for the poor man's parts you bought. Still better than being a console shill
Fells pretty normal I guess? Mind reminding me why I would need more than 6 threads for video games?
Basically an rx 480 overclocked up the ass. It's good, but a 1660ti would've been a wiser choice.
it's just future proofing desu, next gen consoles rumored to be 8 cores so it might be beneficial due to lazy devs optimizing for mainly that.
t. 8 cores 16 threads
>i5 9600K, 32gb Ram, RX 590
that frankenstein monster rig
So you can have programs running besides your games and have some headroom for games that can actually use a lot of threads.
>rx 590
here's where you made a mistake retard, ayyymd is shit for emulation
What's wrong with that?
cringe
Why do PC fagrace call us Sony shills....you are a shill too, it's not you hand made your PC yourself...you are Intel shill, NVIDIA shill, ryzen shill etc etc....all companies that charge excessive prices because they have a near monopoly on the PC market
Lmaoo
With the shitty windows drivers and emulators that use the deprecated, bloated POS that is OpenGL, maybe. OpenGL/Vulkan performance is no problem with the free drivers under GNU/Linux.
Mistake, directed to
>So you can have programs running besides your games
I can already do that just fine with 6 threads though.
>have some headroom for games that can actually use a lot of threads.
Like what?
Honestly, looking at the massive price difference between i5 and i7, the benefit I get for that price is I wouldn't even describe it as incredibly little, because to be honest I don't even see it at all. I'd understand if I wanted to use it for anything else than video games, but I don't.
When I ask about it, nobody can give a proper answer, yet I always see people shitposting lmao
Half of this entire thread needs to go back
You don't have to play every game, you know.
There hasn't been a worthwhile groundbreaking console exclusive in a decade +
Monster hunter world and kcd will use as many threads as they can get their hands on.
Also there are better options than an i5, the ryzen 5 3600 is extremely close in single threaded tasks and just wipes the floor with an i5 in more multithreaded scenarios, and doesn't get a new vulnerability every month. You got clowned and punked mate.
you must be late from the intel debacle. ohhh my gawd, i own both intel and amd and you sir dont have any clue as to why intel chips are shit right now
That's not true if you aim for 1080p/60fps and don't use the most performance draining AA or reflection settings
t. had exactly the same cpu+gpu before upgrading recently, played games like dmcV
I'm not falling for the amd meme ever again, I'm sorry.
Did you buy a bulldozer processor? If so, i totally understand.
>Thanks bros, I'm so happy :^)
Ride this high as long as you can. Sooner than later, you're bound to think that maybe, a little upgrade just on one part wouldn't hurt, but then it'd be great to upgrade that other part too to go along, and suddenly your beloved pc feels subpar.
DMC5 is pretty easy to run, it even runs at 60 on the base consoles(with drops to 50).
I mean.. you can run AAA games on lower settings but no single upgrade will let you run them on high/ultra settings so you either keep running on low or just get a new PC.
most people just think it's more expensive is all
>ps5
>upgrade
nigga that's a downgrade.
Ultra settings are retarded, they're generally meant for future playthroughs with better hardware.
>you can run AAA games on lower settings but no single upgrade will let you run them on high/ultra settings so you either keep running on low or just get a new PC
The fuck are you on about. Pic related still lets me run nearly everything on high/ultra settings at 1080p. Vulkan stuff, AA games and older games all run at 100+ fps.
Stop lying. The Big AAA release don't run 60 fps high/ultra on a 290.
Try shadow of the tomb raider, Battlefield 5, Control, Re2Make, Metro Exodus.
You almost definitely can't get 60 in these on high settings, let alone high/ultra.
>BF5
Ran 60 fps easy in the beta on ultra, too bad the game's shit
>SotTR
Haven't played that one but the 2nd entry ran fine on high.
>Control
Game has terrible optimization and runs like ass on all cards. Global Reflections setting is broken so turning that off gives me 70fps with most other settings turned all the way up, same goes for every other card trying to run this.
>Re2Make
Same engine as DMC5 and runs well over 60 fps maxed out
>Metro Exodus
Never drops below 50 fps on ultra. Gives me 70+ fps in smaller confined areas.
Maybe its 970 equivalent has been gimped to shit already but my card's still doing fine. It only struggles with broken unoptimized mess like the latest asscreed games.
You really don't need a 2060 or Vega 56 to run games at 1080p. A stronger card is only really needed if you go to 1440p/4K resolutions.
>any game where my 6 year old GPU can't get 60 FPS maxxed out has terrible optimisation
No user, some of them just have more demanding graphics options for people with real hardware.
Man, I loved my 290. Bf4 with mantle was the shit. I had the reference model, it was hot, loud and cooked itself to death when I got into crypto, but what a card it was!
That's still pretty damn good. Something like a 780 wouldn't give these numbers, that's for sure.
fuck off retard
>when I got into crypto
gigacuck
Oh no, a game actually offers demanding graphics options. Control still looks better on Medium than a lot of other AAA games do on High, so run it on medium if you have a weaker GPU.
>Futureproof yourselves everywhere you can
>wants to run emulators
>doesn't get an i7
>gets 32GB of RAM
>Once you buy something it's impossible to upgrade later
300 IQ
Ok fag.
>Buy a better CPU now and enjoy the benfits now
or
>Buy 32GB of RAM that you can't use until the future
>Control still looks better on Medium than a lot of other AAA games do on High
I really doesn't. If you need a 2060 or 5700 XT to run a game at 1080p/60fps the game simply isn't optimized well.
Here's 1440p.
>Control still looks better on Medium
it looks grey and featureless, it's one of those games no one will remember in a month. People are already forgetting it even came out.
>If you need a 2060 or 5700 XT to run a game at 1080p/60fps the game simply isn't optimized well.
What an arbitrary requirement
Imagine someone saying that 5 years ago:
>If you need a 780ti to run a game at 1080p/60fps the game simply isn't optimised well
I guess the vast majority of games are poorly optimised then
Yea that's pretty much right, I mean that's how buying a CPU for a new rig works. By the time you feel the need to upgrade your rig, buying a new CPU won't really help, you'll want a new motherboard too (you need it for new CPUs), while you could have just spent half the money you spent on 32GB of fucking RAM on getting an i7, and your rig would be good to go for much longer and it would have been better from the start.
Hmm, isn't 1440p still a meme then, if only the absolute top of the line RTX 2080 Ti is able to run it above 60fps consistently without dipping under it?
>I guess the vast majority of games are poorly optimised then
They aren't. Most games run quite well on mid-tier hardware as I've explained. At this point I think you're just a retarded consolefag LARPing as a Mustardrace fag.
>mid tier hardware
Yes... mid-tier hardware that is at or above the level of a 780ti. A 290 smokes a 780ti these days.
>The prices difference between an i5 and an i7 is half the price of 32GB of RAM.
Are you being a fucking moron on purpose?
No, Control's optimization is just terrible.
The 780ti is completely irrelevant since NVIDIA completely dropped their Kepler architecture when the 9xx series card came out and fucked over the people who had just bought 600 dollar 780's.
PC's double-edged sword is its potential, indeed its theoretical limitlessness. It can always be better even if by a little. The pursuit of perfection is a road of hills.
Consoles' simple physical limitations have up til now allowed one to lay their mind to rest regards performance for as long as a generation lasts.
>build new pc
>immediately emulate N64 games
to be fair first game I played after building was Fallout 2
>780ti
M8 the 780 is low-tier at this point.
>PCs can get too good, that makes me feel anxious
>consoles are shit by design, so I'm at rest
Imagine unironically being this fucking retarded
9700K: $340
9600K: $218
$122 difference
G.Skill Trident Z Neo 4 x 8GB DDR4-3600: $250
G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2 x 8GB DDR4-3600: $135
$115 difference
Truly those $7 were just too much extra to spend.
Building a new PC is a meme really, especially if you're going to emulate. All that money could be spent on getting a better experience on real hardware.
Consolefags really are this fucking retarded.
It's literal buyer's remorse cope.
That's my point exactly. What used to be the highest tier GPU is now low-tier. Even if you ignore Nvidia Gimpworks and take the 290X it's not exactly crushing everything.
The 290X can run most things at 1080p/60 high-ish while dropping anything to do with tessellation and usually not maxing out the textures.
But back in 2013 you could run almost anything at 1080p with a 280. Imagine just outright stating that if any game in the future comes out that you can't run on high on your 280 or 7870 it's badly optimised.
Who needs imagination when simpletons like you walk the earth?
There's no cope more raw than yours kid
We all know PC gamers lack imagination, it's why they all think and act the same. They're lost teens, and it's sad to see their single parent households fold in on themselves like that.
I keep saying I'm going to pare it down, but all I ever do is add to the number of tabs.
Sure, but in Control's case 90% of GPU's struggle to run that game even on medium settings.
The base PS4 runs it at a literal 15 fps.
Meanwhile there are games that look a lot better and run absolutely fine.
It's an optimization issue, not an outdated hardware issue.
Yeah, Remedy's incompetence really shines with that game. It doesn't even look good.
Why do some games graphic settings require more than 8 gb system ram?
Texture streaming.
He just used a mental shortcut. The same hardware can't be more optimized. It's just faster and easier to optimize software for a single configuration.
>muh 2014 John Carmack tweet
Which is still blatantly false. A 1080ti is almost twice as fast as an RX 580. The Xbox one X has a GPU that's roughly equivalent to the RX 580, it performs nowhere near a 1080ti.
AT BEST you get a 10% performance boost from console optimisation and even that's not really guaranteed.
this,my 290 is 5 years old and still got it, what a great fucking card
Just wait till you upgrade to 1440p and play a game like DOOM. Oh mama.
Made enough to buy a 1070, it was worth it.
Consoles use a custom OS, custom drivers, custom hardware, etc. Of course they'll run better than a PC with the same exact compute power. That being said console hardware can be easily beaten by a used PC with a similar price.
Daily reminder that a 750 ti performs better than a ps4. Do not fall for the console optimization meme.
I Play every game from 2013-now and it only cost me $300 :)
>tfw almost fell for the 3.5 meme
>ended up getting this instead
Dodged a bullet there. I also hear the 970 is already struggling running games on high and has to opt for low/medium instead?
rx580 is good if you play in 1080p 60fps. And I plan to stick to that until 2k/4k 144hz tech becomes consumer grade.
RX580 is a decent GPU, no doubt about that. But you don't magically get 1080ti performance by dropping it in a console.
>i5
>without stuttering
give it a year LMAO
The 970 runs slightly slower than a 290X nowadays. You still have the 3.5Gb shit to worry about especially with games that choose to use as much VRAM as is available.
holy fuck, now all of a sudden Yea Forums are computer science experts.
KNowing a thing or two about GPU's because you own a PC doesn't make you a computer science expert.
I can see how it does though in the eyes of a retarded tech-illiterate console pleb.
>KNowing a thing or two about GPU's because you own a PC doesn't make you a computer science expert.
deflecting
>I can see how it does though in the eyes of a retarded tech-illiterate console pleb.
and projecting.
no
The only thing that pisses me off about current PC gaming is all the fucking stores. It's annoying and just makes me wanna pirate.
wanna upgrade my cpu from i5 4690k, my options:
>sub par AMD with potentially bright future and shit drivers
>no compromises jewtel with bleak future
I-I'll save my money
>AMD
>shit drivers
I thought you were upgrading your CPU, not your GPU.
i am in tears
I play every game from 1980 to now and can mod them and also use my computer for more stuff than just watching porn and browsing Yea Forums.
>CPU
>drivers
Are you planning on using the integrated graphics or something? Otherwise CPUs don't use drivers user.
My problem is that the good games don't really require a good PC to work. But I guess it's nice to have one.
you need good cpus for emulation of stuff after dolphin, like cemu, rpcs3 etc.
I don't really see the point of emulating consoles that are easy to pirate and so cheap to get, I already had bad experiences with RPCS3 and the time wasted waiting for a fix and tweaking options to get it run right is not worth it just for (usually) 1 or 2 games you want to play. Emulation from dolphin and before, fuck yes, but the rest is still a mess, it's just a way too elaborated way to not spend money.
>Buy PS3 for $60.
>Jailbreak it for free.
>Pirate said PS3 games for free.
>Play said games for free.
Idk why more people just don't do that. My PS4 is jailbroken and it's been wonderful.
It's not about piracy, it's about being able to run console games at acceptable framerates and resolutions using 60fps patches and internal resolution bumps.
You probably could do better, but given how slow the game industry is lately, and how much fucking performance the emulators are getting from switching to vulkan, you're probably set for the next 5 years at least if you're not a faggot that can't absolutely live without 4k/200fps.
>build new PC
>immediately emulate Gambare goemon on the N64 to see if it runs at full speed
>Still doesn't
Every time, and its clear its something fucked up with the emulators themselves, but i still try.
>playing games at sub 1080p in 2019
lmao, not even close
>PS4 jailbroken
>It's stuck on 5.05 still
New hacks cannot come soon enough.
X1x also has a 384 bit memory bus, which must provide a decent bump to memory bandwidth over the 256 bit bus the 480 has.
True that. 5.50 will open another tier of games. It's already fully exploited, so I don't know why they're being dicks about it.
Real hardware ends up pretty expensive as you need a good CRT (any solution involving a modern TV will have more input lag than emulators) and a good flashcard and an actually working console that you will most likely have to recap.
And you need to buy all the systems you want to play and all the flashcards, and in some systems like the SNES, you need the more expensive flashcard if you want shit like starfox and Super mario RPG.
Also video games with CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives you need to mod to use flash instead as those mechanical shits just die, and you can't do this on all systems.
Also don't even get me started on rare systems like the X68000.
But on the other hand, N64 emulators just fucking suck, and you should get a real hardware with a flashcard if you want to actually play more obscure games for the system.
>real hardware
>better experience
Oh man I just love playing games at 480i
Thank you for this post. I'm so fucking sick of people using the wrong words for these things. It makes it impossible to tell what they actually mean.
If you use a used pc for your argument then he can also use a used ps4, which costs like 150 bucks. You won't ever find a 150 pc that can beat a ps4.
Sorry, would you like to try again?

If you haven't already tried Dolphin emulator, you should. It's one of the best optimized emulators I've seen.
>he bought intel when ryzen is whooping them at every price point except debatably the highest end
>he bought an overclocked and overpriced RX580
>he bought 32gb of ram without knowing what to even do with it
>intel cpu
>amd gpu
are you the nigger from the vdf threads?
>buying a 6c/6t processor in 2019
should have bought a 3600 or spent a bit more on a 9700k
for gaming i5 is still whole a lot better unless you play lots of AAA games that can utilize your octacore because in many older titles and ports you get bad frames due them not having bad multicore support.
due to them not having good multicore support* what the fuck
FART
>cope:the post
Unless you're talking about the 7th gen and up, emulators are actually incredibly easy to run.
>didn't get a 7 3700x, or even a 5 3600 if he was going for budget
what an amateur
Breath of the wild
Bros, I'm thinking of getting a i5 9400F, 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 2060 SUPER in 2 weeks. Is this a good build?
I can't afford anything more expensive.
Maybe he was talking about NES emulators :-)
Most people are intimidated by the price and the assembly, there arent any companies that assemble PC's for you at a reasonable price.
prebuilts are a joke and consoles are just plug in and play.
its not a meme. its going to make his pc more usable when your browser is going to need 10 gb of ram to run in 5 years
>only have to wait several years to play games after they first release
>And still a midrange PC blows consoles out of the water.
And yet games are optimised like shit
