It cant be replicated. DMC1 was a happy accident of Kamiya fooling around too much with the boundaries of RE, as well as the combat of Onimusha. The atmosphere is unnerving, but not disgusting. A lot of it was simply the technological jump to 6th gen, such as the dark, lightning-lit hallways of the second half.

I can only pray for DMC6 to be like RE7, following amateur demon hunters as they being to bite more than they can chew. The problem there is that without supernatural powers, combat would feel bland. The alternative is DMC0 I guess
