dragon quest generally has bad villains, but marcello is the ace in the hole that makes 8's overall plot memorable imo

Yeah I liked him as well as the various supporting cast, just in a way i felt the pacing was pretty mediocre, particularly near the end.
Honestly I'd say my favorite DQs are th monster line up, but I did enjoy 7. Only real complaint I recall having about it was that it kind of overstayed its welcome a bit.
need to get around to playing hand of the heavenly bride though.
