forgot to mention, you're going to definitely want to enhanced edition w/ bug fixes. it completely blows the PS2 original out of the water in every way, including fully compatible widescreen and better audio without the fuzzy/scratching after each effect ends like in the originals. you can also save whenever if that's a bonus for you. game looks fantastic. need to find out how to take a screenshot so i can show you. just finished the "in water" run. haven't played this game in 5 years but it's just as great as i remember.

That's true. They removed an old form of DRM for "security reasons" but it ended up just breaking a shitload of old games. Even if you bought the games they won't work, unless someone has patched the game to skip the DRM check.

Many people turn it off on purpose. You can switch it off even on consoles, but I think you had to finish the game once in order to unlock the option originally.

Because Jewnami are literal fucking jews, who wanted to make the SH HD ports as cheap as possible, including NOT pay the original devs and VAs any royalties for re-using their material.
The only reason an OPTION to use old voices (in SH2 only) was later on implemented was because the actors finally bent the knee and LET the Konami use their score, for free, just so that the ports would be a tiny bit less fucked up.

You still have to suffer of the terrible nu-OST and fucked up sound effects / mixing in general, no matter what.

tl;dr: Do not play the HD collection. Forget everything you know about the HD collection.

How long have you been playing it? 1 has the scariest "industrial" music out of the first three IMO, and it's really good at that. It gets pretty disturbing at some points.

I don't think so. The way SH1 looks adds to the game in some ways, which would be lost with a remake. I'd like it to be ported to PC maybe, and eventually VR, but not a remake.

Last Halloween I dusted off my ps2 and set it up on an old crt and played though SH2, really enjoyed myself.
Then I played though SH1 on an emulator even though I was chicken shit. Didn't I would be able to play through the elementary. But I made it.
