Buying a switch and it will be the first Nintendo console I’ve owned since the n64. Here’s a list of games I’ll be picking up, is there anything that you recommend? Keep in my i have a PS4 so a majority of multiplat games are on there.

>Donkey Kong Tropical freeze
>botw
>Mario odyssey
>pokemon lets go

Also, Can a nintenbro fill me in on any news about a potential new star fox? It was my favorite game on the 64/snes

>They're all playable on PC
user...

I think there's a port of FF7 if you're into JRPGs.

Absolutely and thanks. I have to say though im most excited to get my hands on tropical freeze. Looks so damn fun.

Oh and forgot to ask. What are the chances of a newer more powerful switch? Sorry for my ignorance but ive been out of the loop regarding any Nintendo news for many years

Sincerely don't bother with Let's Go.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Bayonetta 1&2
Mario + Rabbids
Astral Chain
Fire Emblem: 3 Houses

Enjoy Donkey Kong, its damned good

>a potential new star fox
The Switch version of Starlink has integrated Star Fox material. That's about as good as you're going to get for a while. The game and the expansions are on deep sale until September 10.

Thanks for the recommendations brother. What exactly is wrong with let’s go?

>Mario + Rabbids
Oh yeah, and this game and its expansion packs are also on sale at the moment.

Damn it. What the hell happened to my boy Star Fox? What was the last game that they released?

Hyrule Warriors.

It's possible. There's nothing official though.
The red box is the newsiest model, it has a longer battery life.
There's also going to be the Lite model coming later this year.

I struggled with waiting for the lite model but didn’t want to limit my options in hooking it up to my tv. Thanks for the reply

Mario Maker if you like platformers, Astral Chain if you like action. There's also a nice Mana collection for rpgs. Ignore all other recommendations that aren't listed here or in your OP.

Yazu is fucking shit still.

I do like platformers but I figured donkey Kong/Odyssey would fill that void for now plus im not very creative

BOTW
Hyrule Warriors
Mario Odyssey
Smash Bros
Monster Hunter
Astral Chain
Mario Maker 2

That's all you need thousands of hours of content.

Yeah, I've played a bit of Tropical Freeze before and I loved it. Have fun user

Don't get Mario Maker.

Going to also recommend Hyrule Warriors though. It has an obscene amount of content.

What mario maker is fantastic.

I liked smashbros on the n64 with my friends back in the day but always found it boring to play by myself. Nobody i know really owns a switch and I’ll probably get my ass handed to me by randoms online.

As far as Hyrule Warriors I just checked out a quick jewtube video..looks like dynasty warriors meets Zelda. Maybe I’ll give it a shot after I’m done with kong/botw

I've made literally 0 levels. The game is good because of endless content, and people really do make fun and creative levels.

>Hyrule Warriors
Shit taste.

>shit taste
That's ironic, considering you're advocating LittleBigPlanet: Nintendo Edition

So what exactly is astral chain? Hack and slash with rpg elements? Is there any exploration?

The ability to take off the joycons and replace them with something actually comfortable is a feature you'll come to appreciate. There's a lot of grip options available for the OG model. But since they can be completely removed, it allows companies like HORI to make alternatives.

Attached: horipro_.jpg (1492x580, 61K)

>Mario Maker and LBP
>bad
>Literal musou trash
>good
You are shit taste incarnate.

Do you have those bad boys? Be honest

God damn that looks good. Had no idea people were swapping out grips.

>implying Team Ninja and Nintendo's guiding hand didn't cause Hyrule Warriors to transcend the genre
Keep pretending you've played it though.

Hey faggots stop fighting over games. Joycon with a dpad fucking when.

>No, this shitty genre is different because it's Nintendo!
You sound like the absolute stupidest kind of cocksucking fanboy.

Wait for the refresh later this month

They're not out yet.

Other games worth buying:

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Super Mario Maker 2
Astral Chain
Bayonetta 2
Mario Kart 8
Splatoon 2
Golf Story
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Octopath Traveler
Mario + Rabbids

There's others too, but those are the best. It all depends on what genres you like.

Also, get one of these for handheld play:

amazon.com/Tryone-Gooseneck-Nintendo-Samsung-Overall/dp/B01AUQ33LG/

If you liked ps3 and ps4, you are not gonna like switch

Why not

Hori makes a left joycon replacement that’s identical to the original except it has a proper dpad if you’re into classic style games

Attached: 9400165E-329F-41A3-8E7C-EE21E77D5ABD.jpg (2000x1333, 614K)

I own both ps3 and ps4 and love my switch. The fuck you talking about tyrone.

>only works in handheld mode due to lack of battery

It's trash.

The blue looks neat. Thanks user

Not yet, it's not available until the 13th. Unless you have manlet hands, the size of the joycons are the consoles biggest flaw. I literally can't play it in handheld mode for more than like 30 minutes without getting a hand cramp. 3rd party grips do help a lot, but i'm hoping this feels just like a pro controller.

You didn't care for nintendo consoles at that time or what. I have ds, gba, 3ds wii and (thought it's shit) and i think ps3, ps4, vita are shit.

No, I said it's different because of Team Ninja, and Nintendo's quality control with one of their consistently strongest IPs.

But you like LBP and MM2, so I don't expect you to understand logical thought, reason, or to really understand the meaning of the word quality. Please tell me again how "people really do make good levels" though, I need another laugh.

Does it experience drift?

You haven't played MM2, and you haven't played other Musou games if you think HW is any different. No, watching youtube videos doesn't mean you know the games. You are a cocksucking idiot.

So is this jap only cuz all the hori ones I find are gay ass mario/zelda shit.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.

Reminder we’re getting a direct tomorrow, surely with tons of new game announcements, right?

Right?

Surely... ?

Attached: D77710B0-ACAD-45F2-AB94-4C5041800E3D.png (530x670, 269K)

Oh shit. I have great timing, maybe I’ll wait until Thursday to pick one up instead of tomorrow Incase they announce some cool bundle or special edition

What makes switch different than those nintendo consoels in 00s? You only play old multiplats or what.

Op here and I have no idea because i never owned a GC/wii. I just want to get back into Nintendo games because it’s been a long time

Dong freeze is an amazing game, you won't be disappointed
Botw is fucking garbage, one of the worst games I have ever played
Odyssey is pretty good
Let's go is a bit iffy but it's at least better than the upcoming sun and moon

Consider Mario rabbids it's like a simpler xcom, but if you get it physical make sure you update it because it launched with a bug that makes you lose all your gold every time you reset your skills
Astral chain is the new hotness, I haven't played it yet since my copy is still in the mail but it looks pretty good, there is also bayo 2 which is almost as good as bayo 1

>gets called out on having not played the game he's bashing
>N-no you haven't played the game

>and people really do make fun and creative levels.
I'm still rolling.

Fuck off you drunk retard.

Did you play gba, ds, 3ds?
You fuck off, i don't drink

Called out would imply you're right. You're not. It's very clear that you haven't played any of the games you're talking about, though. Please feel free to explain what actually makes HW different than every other musou game, and do anything at all to prove that you've actually played MM2 levels online.

Star fox zero
Apparently it was pretty shit and a major rehash of 64, main complaint seems to be garbage controls.

Actually I lie, the snes classic came with the previously unreleased star fox 2, you can probably get the rom to emulate it online.

So you're just retarded.

Might be a good idea.

You are the retard, also fat and ugly, you dumb amerigoblino

>Dong freeze is an amazing game, you won't be disappointed
Awesome. Said it before earlier in the thread but it’s the game I’m most excited to play.

>Botw is fucking garbage, one of the worst games I have ever played
Damn really? Isn’t it pretty much considered the best switch game? What the hell happened user?

>Odyssey is pretty good
Looks like great fun. Mario 64ish gameplay with better graphics.

>Let's go is a bit iffy but it's at least better than the upcoming sun and moon
Only reason i mentioned this was because i have a pokemon itch for some reason. Last one I played was yellow on my GBC.

I will definitely check out mario rabbids since everyone is recommending it and i fucking love me some xcom

Yep I was right you are literally braindead.

knock off let's go and replace it with mario maker, and i would say that you have the switch essentials right now

>Did you play gba, ds, 3ds?
Nope. Last handheld i owned was my GBC.

Nice way to show how retarded you are.
Why tho.

Keep replying to me retard just makes you look dumber every time.

>wii u game
>wii u game
>decent switch game
>original gameboy game
SO 1 game

>because i never owned a GC/wii
get dolphin and get on it man

Attached: Dolphin-Emulator-5.0-6243-Beta-APK-Update-Introduces-One-Major-Bug-Fix[1].png (1200x571, 62K)

Good tastes, user. Freeze is excellent.

>Isn’t it pretty much considered the best switch game?
It's a very very controversial game, you will either love it or hate it and the only way to find out which you are is to try it yourself.

>seriously coming to Yea Forums for advice on anything ever

haha oh wow anons actually do this

Are any of the classic GC games on the digital switch store? What would you recommend?

The original Adventure map alone has roughly 40 hours worth of content, plus the campaign. The Switch version has all the extra maps, bringing the game to a staggering 400+ hour title. Each character (which the game has many) has an in depth moveset beyond slashslashslash. This isnt taking into account multiple characters have multiple weapons which completely change the playstyle of that specific character. To top off all the content, you also have Skultula hunting.

The only Musou games that come close are the Pirate Warriors games. Since you're a fucking liar claiming to know what you're talking about, please inform us how Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors are in the same realm of game. You're an idiot.

What are the chances doom64 gets ported tomorrow?

FE 3H, and Astral Chain was the only reason I bought the console. Nothing else seems to be grabbing my interest.

60%

as far as i know they don't have GC games on the store. not that i've looked, as i just play them all on dolphin anyway.

>The original Adventure map alone has roughly 40 hours worth of content,
Not unique at all.

>Each character (which the game has many) has an in depth moveset beyond slashslashslash
You've clearly never played the Onepiece games if you found HW's moveset to be impressive.

>The only Musou games that come close are the Pirate Warriors games.
You get points for bringing it up, but you need to actually play it.

>please inform us how Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors
When did I bring up FE? Did you just try to put words in my mouth? Only complete retards try to argue like that.

Trying to be condescending doesn't work when you're that ignorant and stupid. You also forgot to say anything about Mario Maker. Try again.

Mario and Rabbids is super fun

nothing let’s go is an all right game i liked it

Most of the big ones have already been recommended, so here are some smaller/indie games I played that I think are worth checking out:
>FastRMX, a Fzero/Wipeout type racing game
>Travis Strikes Back, a weird but flashy hack and slash, pretty great for coop
>Baba is you, a puzzle game where the "rules" of the level are displayed as words on the map, and you have to mix them up to change the way objects interact with eachother and reach the goal
>Lethal League Blaze, Smash Bros meets Dodgeball with a Jet Set Radio aesthetic
>Darkest Dungeon, a creepy dungeon crawler with a lovecratian theme and a god-like narrator
Some of these aren't exclusives, but I'd still recommend them since they are all pretty great, plus they're good handheld mode games since they're the sort you can play for 5-15 minutes a go, like if you wanna use it on the shitter or something.
Also OP, if you buy one of the older models you should know that they're relatively easy to hack. That means free games, tons of custom software, and also emulators for every console up to GC/Wii (Except Xbox and PS2 for now).
You'll need to read up a bit on how it all works, but if you're interested and know your way around using a computer, you should have no problem getting it set up.

Attached: 1426864324314.png (196x197, 34K)

At this point just get a pro controller. Joycons are shit for extended play.

>As far as Hyrule Warriors I just checked out a quick jewtube video..looks like dynasty warriors meets Zelda.
Well its developed by the same people and shares the "warriors" title. Kind of boring desu, I pirated it on Wii U and it was just brainless button mashing. Probably good if you're a massive zelda fan and want a game to turn your brain off and press buttons

Musou is and always will be a shitty brainless button mashing genre. I honestly have a hard time believing you think games that get people thinking on how to create fun/challenging/ stages for people to get through and is worse. Sorry you have shit taste friend

What the fuck are you actually trying to say? You drunk? Tired? Angry? Retarded?

Hi, total noob/retard here. Can someone explain to me what 90DNS and incognito are? If I never plan on going online with emunand do I need to bother?

BOTW is a solid 8/10, dont listen to that guy.
Also he got the games wrong the upcoming pokemon games are sword and shield, either way just skip out on all pokemon games on the switch except maybe pokken which is a decent fighter made by the tekken developers. Just emulate any of the other games on PC or mobile if you have am android.

>If I never plan on going online with emunand do I need to bother?

No, you don't.

Nintendo aren't really doing anything with their classic games, they used to have virtual console on wii/wiiu/3ds which were ports of classic game from different systems but were a bit expensive. They stopped doing that on switch and we only have monthly NES games that you only get to download and play if you pay for their online service.
As for essential GC games
Mario sunshine
Metroid prime 1 and 2
Pikmin 1 and 2
Both Zelda Wind waker and twilight princess
Paper Mario the thousand year door
Luigi's mansion
Animal crossing
Those are just a few I can name of the top of my head

Also OP make a Nintendo account online already and check the eshop, Mario and rabbids is on sale right now, both versions too (game only or bundled with the DLC) you can buy it on the site then download it whenever you get your switch

what are the benefits of using online on emunand anyway?

Forget about those shit games.

Buy BOTW
Xenoblade Thorna the Golden country
MARIO Odyssey
Splatoon 2, you will love it
Mario Maker 2
Fire Emblem three houses
Astral Chain
Daemon x Machina
Luigi's Mansion 3
Pokemon Sword

Trash list

You like JRPGs?
Xenoblade 2
Octopath Traveler

The whole DLC pass alone is also on sale, which I don't recall happening before. Usually it's just the game and the full bundle on sale, with the solo DLC pass staying full price.

Yeah I forgot about Bayonetta 2

Why did you recommend him 2 bad jrpgs?

Decent lineup of choices ya got there. I might not be a fan of let’s go but it is a great for getting back into Pokémon.

Other games I would recommend
>Three Houses
Yes, Yea Forums has been sperging over it for the past month or so, but it’s good. I certainly have had a blast with it, although it might be a bit weeby for you.
>Astral Chain
If you like Platinum’s games , you will like it. If you don’t you won’t.
>Smash, Mario Kart
If you are gonna have friends over, get these. If not consider whether playing online is worth it enough.
>Mario + Rabbids
This game goes on sale all the time and it’s pretty solid. If ya like XCom you will like it.
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I would recommend the first one on the Wii or New 3ds since it’s by far a better game, but this game is great if you don’t mind it being dumb. Trona is amazing dlc.

I don’t know what you will look for in ports, some are really fun but most aren’t the definitive versions. DQXI is the exception but I never played the original so idk but I heard good things.

I personally didn’t like Splatoon that much but they ain’t terrible just not my cup of tea.

As for the new star fox here’s the score.

Star Fox Zero might get a port. It is ok if you liked 64 but for 60 bucks it is not worth it. Hopefully they remove the gyro controls.

A new game is unlikely but they might build of Zero.

Or you have an itch for a game like Star Fox, I would recommend Panzer Dragoon coming soon.

Not sure I'd recommend Let's Go unless you're feeling very nostalgic for Yellow. The catching mechanics in that game are whack.

Breath of the Wild has the best level design I've seen in an open world game, but with the amount of freedom it grants you, you might find yourself missing some structure. My experience with the game felt pretty ideal. I wanted to do activate all the towers and complete all the shrines then complete each divine beast. Having spoiled very little about the game, that's still how I wanted to approach it. I had a great time for the most part, but I think some people jump in to it thinking the game is going to have different content. They think the shrines aren't going to be the primary reward for exploration.

Also, my recommendation for Odyssey is to play it in shorter bursts and not to gun for 100% at all times. The game has some choice bits but unfortunately allows you to progress with just doing the weakest moons in the game. There are nearly 900 of the fuckers.

Add Bayonetta (will include both games) and Mario Kart 8

I do not recommend Pokemon

dont bother with pokemon let's go
>super smash bros ultimate
>mario kart 8 deluxe
>bayonetta 1+2
>monster hunter generations ultimate
>xenoblade 2
>astral chain
>splatoon 2
>super mario maker (if you really want to)
>lethal league blaze (eshop)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that dislikes splatoon. I don't get the appeal when the majority of the game is unbalanced as hell and you're at a total disadvantage if you turn gyro off.

DD is better on pc. its clunky and the menus are ridiculously hard to read on/off dock.

Is Mario + rabbids any good? I’m deciding on that, axiom verge, and dead cells

Astral Chain
Daemon X Machina if you like Armored Core
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

It goes on sale a lot so at least wait for that. Almost certainly going to be really low by Black Friday. It's very good though, so long as you commit to doing the challenge maps immediately after completing each world. If you go back and do them after completing two or more worlds you'll be too strong.

Smash Ultimate is really fun. Feels like what Smash was leading up to.
Don’t sleep on third party games. Doom 2016 and Dark Souls are excellent ports, the classic Doom games need some updates to fix the music speed (this will be fixed they said so on twitter) But is still recommend it.
If you get an online plan, which it’s like $20 it sucks but there’s some games worth playing with online features, Splatoon 2 is a surprisingly good multiplayer shooter and Mario Maker 2 is good you just have to have online for it.

Also as for stuff that’s not yet Luigi’s Mansion 3 is out in October and looks really fun. Wouldn’t recommend Pokémon let’s go but I also hate Pokémon. If ports of Rare Replay/Banjo Kazooie and a port of Persona 5 get announced in a direct tomorrow I’d highly recommend those games as well, though if you played N64 and own a PS4 chances are you already have played those games.

Real talk. I'm thinking of buying the Switch lite. In all practicality I'm never going to use the TV mode since my PS4 collects dust and I hate using Joy Cons. What should I pick up aside from
>MH:GU
>Astral Chain
>Smash

Didn't care for Splatoon 1 so I doubt I'd like Splatoon 2. What's the consensus on Daemon x Machina?

I own a Switch, Pc, and PS4 and I love both my switch and PS4. Fuck this user he doesn’t know shit about video games.

are they really? is the emulation decent? i was going to buy a switch for zelda but if i can play it on the computer then fuck that

>Shits on Let's Go
>Recommends the Let's Go of the Fire Emblem series
What did he mean by this

From what I've seen at least from Mario oddysey footage its not good. Looks worse than the original, artifacts and only around 30-40 fps. I recently got a switch and I can't imagine playing oddysey at less than constant 60

let's go poopoo peepee is pretty golly gosh darn bad

you're not buying a console, you're buying a handheld

Hollow Knight if you like metroidvanias.

Mario + Rabbids and its DLC are on sale right now.

Okay, I know this is bait thread, but whatever - buy some of the games on Switch, having a portable system is incredibly comfortable, rarely do I have the time to sit at TV and okay, but holy fuck do I play a lot on my Switch, since it's always with me, either in the house, bed or at my home office, when I need to relax - most multiplat games I get, I get on Switch simply because I always preferred portables.

>Portable mode is comfy and I play multiplats on my Switch!
Kill yourself.

Not him, but aren’t you getting a little too worked up over somebody else’s preferred platform? I use PC + switch, and I prefer most indies these days on the latter because many of their design choices fair well on portable hardware. I legitimately don’t see the issue here. Both PC and switch have their exclusives / strengths. I wouldn’t ask for Friday night Mordhau and Europa on switch in the same way I wouldn’t ask for local couch play smash on PC. Unless you’re just trying to be provocative

>Switch Lite lacks rumble entirely
The fuck was Nintendo thinking? At least put in a basic flutter or something.

>Donkey Kong Tropical freeze
>botw
>Mario odyssey
>pokemon lets go
not a single decent game. pathetic
