there is zero reason why there is no mobile phone game and it pisses me off
Just get it for Switch. Mobile versions are always shit
me. has the 4th character dropped yet?
4th character soon. Who's it gonna be, lads?
I hope someone closer to Defect in gameplay
It'll be the Merchant. He has some sort of money mechanic
Can we agree that The Silent is the weakest character overall? She can get some insane builds to be sure, but that early game is so fucking rough comparatively with the Ironchad and Defect
It's on game pass, played it a bit, maybe I'm a tard but I cant even get past boss two with the first dude.
I do better with silent than defect, but that's just me
Mobile version confirmed for this year
I was #1 on the winstreak leaderboard with Silent for a bit. He's definitely the easiest and most consistent of all 3.
I like this game but I dislike the music.
It's just so depressing.
>Silent
>He
Females don't exist on the internet.
Cant beat second boss that looks like death. I suck at this game
Silent is the most consistent character. You'll end up with a Win condition at some point, just build up block and you're set to go.
Iron Clad can fucking steamroll runs, but does depend on getting and building around a Win condition a little more than the Silent, preferably early.
Defect can obliterate the game with certain relics, and is decently reliable, but there's very, very little variety in what it can do, and you can 100% be screwed over by bad card draws.
they all have their own disgusting builds its just that the silent only has 1 (poison/shiv)
lol
There is quite a lot of trial and error if you're uninitiated.
In the first floor you really want something with good damage or that lets you take down enemies quickly as the Ironclad. Keep your eyes open for Perfected Strike, Bludgeon, Immolate, Uppercut, a Spot Weakness to increase strength, Whirlwind. Fight as many elite enemies as you can, and especially for the Ironclad almost any relic that gives you extra energy after the first boss is usually your best bet
In the second floor you typically want some AoE cards such as Whirlwind or Immolate, and you want to start finding a fledging ramp factor. For the Ironclad this usually means strength ramping with Demon Form or Limit Break, and defense ramping with Barricade and Entrench, but those are pretty broad.
The third floor you streamline that deck.
Try and notice what you're lacking. If you're getting hit a lot, take better blocks. If you aren't killing, find some big hitters
I played many many months ago and put several tens of hours into it but I feel the game is largely overtuned and could benefit from a global nerf.
Retard. Silent has common cards that turn into win conditions.
Did you play through the ascensions? The normal game is designed to be cleared consistently once you get the hang of it. But the ascensions range from the intended experience to outright bullshit.
I just always struggle on the first floor with her. She does such shit damage to start, and the Gremlin Nob absolutely mogs her
I can get to The Heart in most of my runs but I can't beat it. Usually my strategies take a few turns to work up to having a really powerful combo (not a problem for floors 1-3 bosses) and by that time I'm dead. And the -1 hp per card played sucks too.
Really only some specific strategies work against the heart. You need big boy blocks
I guess I could try Ironclad barricade/body slam runs with a thin deck. It's usually more fun to do STR up combos tho.
Worth a try to just get it done once.
Defect frost focus is always an easy heart win
Better question: what is the best mobile equivalent to while I wait for the android version?
Royal Booty Quest.
Ahhhh I can't wait.
I love getting a good Defect Power deck going on.
someone hit me up with a humble bundle key
Just upgrade Neutralize early if you don't have anything better to do
With a small deck at the start it'll be up all the time
yeah ok
just play on steamlink lol
fuck off you fat fuck when it half life 3 faggot
>timekeepers your path
Not yet
I do and I hate myself for it.
what are some good mods? i want to change it up for a couple runs
Where the FUCK is the 4th character
That would be Sleeper. Timekeeper is the one who fucks claw decks.
Less than a week away if you play the beta branch.
Timekeeper is shit boss with a shit design
There's a paid mobile clone that I'd say is on par called Pirate Outlaws. A few different systems but it feels just the same.
Mobiles coming, MegaCrit confirmed it.
get dabbed on infinite Silent deck
I've been playing it a bunch lately. I cannot for the life of me get past ascension 4, every time I feel like I've got some synergy going with a deck I then immediately get my shit slapped by some trash fight.
Cunny mods when
It's too hard. After 60 hours I still only have like 8 wins on Ascension 0.
I just tried that one out. Very very rough presentation but it seems to have more content than Pirates Outlaws and with much less jewish transactions. I think I'll stick with this one until StS gets a mobile port.
I post this every StS thread so I'm gonna do it again
>get corruption+dead branch
>WIN
After I got all the achievements I stopped even doing dailies. I'll wait for more content.
god I love frost decks
But how. The game is so easy on Ascension 0.
New character enters beta this week
Who's excited?
And blizzard as the only wind condition. But Zap decks are equally as fun... As long as you don't die before you set up your orbs.
And then getting dicked by an Awakened One.
Or hitting Time Eater after building a nifty Shiv deck with the Silent. Always my luck
Time eater+ was in fact not a WIN
>W10 version from ganepass doesn't have cheevos
This irks me, what motivation do I have to succeed?
Time Eater has never been too much of a problem for me but the Collector is utter horseshit
Killing his minions doesn't even seem to slowdown his assfuck killing spree
Got my final A20 heartbreaker kill yesterday on Silent. Her's was definitely the toughest to figure out.
>1 cheeve left
>that dumb RNG transient kill one
Dumb cheeve, he never shows up when I have capable decks.
Funny, never had trouble with the Collector, probably because I usually go for snowbally decks, like shivs, limit break or frost with blizzard
I literally just booted up the game, built a stupid fucking retard deck with no scaling, no block, and clash, and won handily on A0.
He only goves you like 3 turns to actually snowball before he debuffs you and starts swinging for like 25+ a turn. On higher ascencions its brutal.
Anyone here play mods?
Is Clash really that good? I've used it before but didn't seem particularly amazing.
It's quite good in the right deck.
No it's generally awful. A deck it's good in is a bad deck that can't beat many important encouunters.
I was just highlighting how easy the game is on 0 ascension.
I've beaten ascension 20 and can't finish a single fuking run with only 5 cards on my deck, fuck me.
the only deck I could see it working in that isn't shit would be ornamental fan+unceasing top with only 0 costs
at which point literally anything wins
I only got that one done once I got a Peace Pipe on the first floor. Then it was easy to pull off. Just make a Claw defect deck with Scrape to have something viable to win.
get lucky and get a piece pipe
clash is okay if you run sever soul, but i wouldn't bet on it to beat the heart or anything
your enemy icons look hilarious
Huh, so Defect is the chosen one to do this?
I am on A01 with him still, just finished the normal and went back to A20 IC and Silent.
Looks like I will invest some hours on him to lear his deck. Thank you, anons.
Quoted you by mistake man, sorry.
I am trying with IC, but can't do it. Will try again tomorrow.
Ironclad is definitely very good for it too. I'd wager he has bigger list of potential solutions.
Finally got to ascension 5 on all 3 characters. Haven't even gotten to the heart yet.
How do I git gud?
gotta git gud
learn the couple basic archtypes of each character and see what's offered to you based on cards/relics so you can build a consistent deck
Don't pigeon hole yourself into archetypes
What do you mean?
Do whatever jorbs does
Always evaluate your decisions to make the one that will maximize your chances of winning in the long and short term
What are Silent's win conditions? I do alright with Ironclad and Defect but I always struggle with her.
>over 400 hours
>can't beat Act 4
>can't get past Ascension 5
Am I really just that shit or is my luck just that horrible?
poison is her best. shiv decks are ok.
way too click intensive she is horrible to play as
Do you reset battles/chance events?
>Am I really just that shit or is my luck just that horrible?
A little of both. But mostly the former. Don't get too upset though. Higher ascension levels are not made to be consistently cleared.
It's fantastic with a deck full of rage with unceasing top. Otherwise it's heavily conditional.
>enemy puts a single status into your deck
>die
You haven't learned to skip cards.
I NEVER die to the Collector, but routinely get my ass handed to me by the time eater, so, that's weird.
There was some sperg touting massive win rates on a15. Poster is almost entire just bad.
Got it recently. I've played 6 hours, gotten to the heart twice, and have generally been frustrated by how RNG the game is.
I'd be more inclined to play it if defense didn't reset after each turn, since you can just get fucked if you draw no defense cards when an enemy is attacking.
Check your privilege shitlord
Building a better deck fixes that. You get too heavy on one type of card and it fucks your draws.
You can mitigate that by having a smaller deck or having more cards that draw extra cards when you play them.
Maybe, but there's still RNG involved with which cards show up in your run, so building a specific deck seems hard. I haven't gotten the hang of it yet, but I only take a card if it seems good, and tend to focus on defense cards.
So far, I've generally gotten to act 2 where stuff can start hitting for 20+ and I'm just limping along from fireplace to fireplace since I can only avoid that much damage if I get a ton of defense cards all at once.
The 2 times I won so far were really lucky with a super strength build on the ironclad, and a poison stacking build on the silent.
The thing about this game is that you need to have a general idea of all the decks you could build with each character since RNG spits out at least one usable deck per game. So if the RNG is giving you a defensive deck and you're still trying to aim for a pure offensive one, then you're gonna have a lot of trouble.
>Make several attempts as Ironclad
>Eventually kill the final boss thing
>No desire to play ever again
Am I missing something? I get how it works and I know how it feels when your deck goes off, but I feel like I've done everything there is to do in this game.
Try the other characters?
The Slimebound.
steamcommunity.com
I feel like the game needs more content. More ? room variety, more fight variety, more weird minigame shit like the match 2 ? room and crap like that so runs aren't so samey.
Also bosses which don't boil down to 'have X or lose' would be nice. At least they nerfed execute. Fucking 90 damage unstoppable hit unless you could do 200+ damage in one turn? Fuck that.
Mintyspire+Slimebound+Achievement Enabler+Friendly Minions.
I tried the Cursed and had a never-ending attack sequence at the start of my first run. Stopped using it.
I want to enjoy Infinite Spire, but the boss is kind of ugly and has no music. The quests are nice.
Replay the Spire would be alright if it had card art (or recolors, at least).
I haven't tried any characters other than the Slimebound and Cursed; most look like trash. Slimebound is almost balanced, just slightly overpowered.
I kind of have to because I usually play the game over Steam Link. It's very playable, but I do accidentally play the wrong card (partially because the cards get really tiny, even on my fat phone, when you have a full hand), sometimes.
Accepting your mistakes is one thing, but gimmicky controls are another.
Well if you only beat one single run then you basically know nothing about the game. If learning how to play it seems appealing then they would be the thing left to do.
It's a roguelite; some runs aren't going to go well.
Try focusing on getting zero cost cards— Flash of Steel, Blind, Dark Shackles, Deep Breath, Enlightenment, Finesse, Good Instincts, Master of Strategy, Secret Technique, Secret Weapon, Thinking Ahead, Violence. You can do better with a specific deck, but cards that give you more options and/or cost nothing to play are a good start. You'll only have trouble against Timekeeper with a free spam deck, which Silent and Defect both have decent/good cards for.
Agreed on all points. I think the lack of enemy variety is a significant reason behind why the game gets dull. Players shouldn't see every common enemy on every run; there should be enough variety to prevent that.
"?" events are fairly well-done, though. I almost never see the betting joust event or the one that lets you leave a card of any color behind for a different run, though I wish I could get through Act 1 more often without running into Cleric— he's often useless that early in the game.
I, too, call them “big boy blocks.”
>nightmare + catalyst
Any mod recommendations?
Preferably ones that aren't insanely unbalanced with nonexistent or cringe-tier art?
>picking Nightmare
I avoid that thing like the plague. Feels like i need 5 energy to make use of it.
its only good if you have well-laid plans
otherwise you end up cycling it as a pseudo-curse
