I love how the Union and Confederates only start with a couple states and everyone else is neutral until they move their armies in. You can also set it so that if you take North Carolina a random ship will drop off an extra army every 5 turns, I don't get where that army comes from. It's also wonderful that there are side-scrolling action parts (train robberies and fort captures) in a strategy game as well. Even though it was completely historically and geographically inept, I played the shit out it when I was a kid, and respect it for its ambition.
