I've found that the pacing is fine in chunks, honestly.
It's not really so much of a grind but moreover that you have an hour to block out for CTR. If you feel comfortable doing just that, you're a shoe in to acquire all nitro rewards and get in the top 5% for the decal and everything else is just extra. I took several days off and had no issue last month.
Only thing that's a stinger is start-of-event bundles in the shop because they're on a fixed day rotation instead of rotating in the things you haven't acquired yet so even if you check daily you have 0 chance to get it if it's off cycle.

So is this game good? I can get it but I waste as much time as it is on games anyway, and I'm going through Astral Chain now, but is the Spyro Reignited Trilogy actually good? I never played the games before, not even the originals from way back.
Can't say I'm the biggest fan of 3D platformers unless they pack a lot of great story content, like Conker's Bad Fur Day. My favorite platformer ever. I couldn't even finish Super Mario 64 when I was a kid because it just wasn't THAT fun to me, and I had better stuff to play like the WWF games from the late 90s/2000s, and Conker.
Buuut, I did kinda like Mario Odyssey on Switch last year, but again, I never finished it properly and never bothered getting the second secret moon level.

True but it does not account for shortcuts. Blue flame users using shortcuts in maps like EA/PP can easily outpace Warp Orbs. There are webms of people even dodging Warp Orbs and maps that let you circle around an object. The programming of Warp Orb is flawed because it seems to just go forward until it hits first place. It doesn't actually "seek" first place like it should.

Item RNG is always part of the game but skill and consistency is still the most prominent factor. And don't act like RNG hasn't helped you in the past either. As long as its a good race with out bugs or lobby timeouts, I'm fine. Even if I get screwed over by item RNG I either get a little annoyed or laugh it off, and then move onto the next race.

With us PS4 users there's been roughly a 100,000 playerbase dropoff each month. The Nitro Tour GP showed a nitro leaderboard of over 1 billion by the end and the Back in Time GP showed a nitro leaderboard of around 900,000 by the end.
I wonder if the the Spyro GP will show a net gain of players or if the lack of more significant Spyro characters will make more players less interested.

No, I completed hard mode using Joe the entire time. If you can keep your SF and USF boost then it shouldn't give you much issue. Keep trying

It literally is just a case of getting good. If you optimise your boosting and your route through the track you should be able to eventually place 1st consistently on hard. Only exceptions can be the really short simple tracks like Crash Cove or Roo's Tubes which can commonly become item clusterfucks on hard.

I did hard as turn. Its very doable but the first tracks like CC and RT can be a pain in the ass. The rest arent so bad since the AI might be faster but is mostly braindead. Especially on blue flame tracks.
